chapter 191 part 1
Chapter 191: The Night of the Clan's Annihilation
A few days passed, and the Uchiha Clan shinobi who were away gradually returned.
The usual peaceful atmosphere in the clan compound was gone. The clansmen all seemed to have realized that the gazes of the other villagers had been unnatural lately.
Inside the clan hall, an Uchiha ninja forcefully tore a piece of paper to shreds. "Damn you, Sarutobi Hiruzen! He actually approved this! What, Uchiha clansmen need to file a special report with the Konoha office to leave the village? And we're not allowed to leave unless it's necessary? What does he take us for? Criminals?!"
In the seat of honor, an old man with a full head of white hair sighed. "I miss the days when the Second Hokage, Lord Tobirama Senju, was in charge of the village. Back then, our authority was at its peak. We could even see members of the Hyuga clan addressing us with honorifics."
"And now..."
The shinobi in the hall erupted in discussion, all turning their gazes to Uchiha Fugaku at the front.
"Clan Leader! We can't wait any longer!"
"That's right, Clan Leader! If this continues, we might as well just rebel!"
"Clan Leader, wouldn't we be better off even if we left Konoha?"
"Leave? Why should we?! The Uchiha Clan contributed half the effort in establishing the village! Why should we be the ones to leave? They're the ones discriminating against us!"
"Enough." Uchiha Fugaku took a deep breath. "Tomorrow night."
Though his words were few, the crowd erupted in cheers!
"Excellent! We've finally waited for this day!"
In a corner, a pang of pain flashed through Uchiha Ji's eyes. He closed them, then turned and walked out of the house.
At that moment, inside Ichiraku Ramen, Uchiha Ren personally handed a bowl of ramen to Yakumo Kurama.
Yakumo Kurama, holding her skirt like a proper young lady, gave a slight bow. "Arigatou! Ren-san!"
"Go on and eat. I added extra fish cake for you."
"Ah! Thank you so much!"
Yakumo Kurama slurped a few mouthfuls of noodles, then suddenly noticed that Uchiha Ren beside her hadn't touched his chopsticks. She turned her head and followed his gaze to a dejected, yellow-haired little brat in a corner.
"What's wrong, Ren-chan? Do you know that kid?"
"Yeah, sort of," he said. "I'll go ask."
Uchiha Ren walked over to Naruto Uzumaki's side. "What's wrong? Got into a fight? Bullied?"
Naruto Uzumaki looked up and saw it was someone he knew. He quickly wiped away his tears. "I don't have enough money for this month. The milk I bought expired, and I... I also lost the ramen coupon the ramen uncle gave me. My home..."
When he got to the word "home," Naruto paused, then continued with a resentful look in his eyes, "...there's no food at home either."
"Alright," Uchiha Ren patted Naruto's back. "So you're just broke and can't eat, right? Go find Sarutobi Hiruzen, he'll give you money."
"Grandpa Hokage..." Naruto wore a reluctant expression. "He's been ignoring me lately. I don't know what he's busy with. Last time, I painted a black eye on the Fourth Hokage's face on the Hokage Rock and no one even cared. It's so boring."
The corner of Uchiha Ren's eye twitched. *Of course, no one would care,* he thought. *Who's going to scold you for painting on your own dad's statue? Just do whatever you want.*
"Alright, then. I'll treat you to some ramen."
"For! For real!?" Naruto's eyes widened, his face a picture of disbelief.
"Yeah, I can still afford this much."
"Then I won't be polite, big bro!" Naruto slammed his hand on the table. "Hey! Ramen Uncle! I want, I want one hund—"
Uchiha Ren raised his hand and gave Naruto a chop on the head. "You'd better think carefully before you speak."
Naruto clutched his head. "I, I want three, three bowls of ramen..."
After ordering, Naruto was instantly revived. He stole a glance at the woman who had been sitting with Uchiha Ren, his expression full of gossip as he said, "Big bro, big bro, is that, um, is that your wife?"
"Wife, my ass. I'm only a few years old, why would I be married?"
"Oh! Then she's your girlfriend!"
"Not that either. We're on the same team."
"Ah!" Naruto looked dumbfounded. "You... you've already been on a mission outside the village?"
"Of course. Otherwise, where would I get the money to treat you to ramen?"
"That's, that's so cool!" Naruto Uzumaki's eyes widened. "What's it like outside the village? Are there monsters in the forest? Are the streets filled with lots of big sisters who don't wear clothes?"
"What are you thinking about." Uchiha Ren shot Naruto Uzumaki a look. "Konoha is considered a relatively prosperous village in the ninja world."
"What, there aren't any?" Naruto Uzumaki's face was suddenly filled with anticipation again. "Then, then the shops outside the village, would they refuse to let me in?"
Speaking of which, the owner of Ichiraku Ramen, Teuchi, pushed a bowl of noodles in front of Naruto. "Eat up. It'll get soggy if you wait."
"Yosh! Itadakimasu!!!"
In the Konoha Hospital, Tsunade, as the chief physician on duty, was tirelessly diagnosing patients.
Shizune stood behind Tsunade, looking at the long queue, her own head starting to ache.
Including the slightly balding middle-aged woman Tsunade was currently diagnosing, this was already the twentieth patient with anorexia in recent days.
"Same as the others." Tsunade stopped circulating chakra through the woman's body. "You've also been infected with some unknown virus... This virus isn't fatal. It just makes people lose their appetite."
"Shizune, register her for now."
"Yes!"
Shizune held up her notebook and picked up a pen. "Ma'am, what is your name?"
"Uchiha Cuimei."
Upon hearing the word "Uchiha," Tsunade's eyes twitched as if pricked by a needle!
These patients with anorexia, without a single exception, were all members of the Uchiha Clan.
One or two might have been a coincidence.
But this many could not possibly be one.
Thinking of this, Tsunade looked at the crowd. "Those in line, members of the Uchiha Clan, please stay where you are. All other villagers, please stand to the left."
As soon as she finished speaking, an old man, a young girl, and a middle-aged man moved to the left side.
Seeing this, Tsunade breathed a small sigh of relief.
If it wasn't just the Uchiha Clan showing symptoms of anorexia, then it meant this illness wasn't specifically targeting them.
"Shizune, register them first."
