Chapter 260 - chapter 190 part 3

chapter 190 part 3

"Tell me, why did you attack Uchiha Ren and his squad?" Ibiki Morino's voice was low and cold, echoing in the cramped interrogation room.

He had subjected Torune to a long and severe torture, and various cruel instruments had left shocking and horrifying scars all over Torune's body.

Torune's willpower was far from as tough as Uchiha Ren's. Under Ibiki Morino's interrogation, he finally couldn't bear it anymore, and with a grim expression, he said, "I received a mission..."

However, just as the words left his mouth, Torune's body suddenly trembled violently, as if controlled by an invisible force.

His tongue uncontrollably thrashed inside his mouth, and only some slurred gurgling sounds could be heard from his throat. He couldn't utter a single complete word.

Ibiki Morino's brows furrowed tightly upon seeing this, and a trace of frustration and helplessness flashed in his eyes.

He knew well that all Root ninja had been subjected to an extremely vicious Cursed Seal. This Cursed Seal was like a firm lock; the moment they tried to mention any confidential information, it would immediately activate, causing them to choke. If the situation was severe, it could even lead to instant death.

Ibiki Morino stood up and paced back and forth in the interrogation room.

He tried to find other ways to break through Torune's defenses, but at this moment, all efforts seemed futile.

"Damn Danzo!" Ibiki Morino cursed silently in his heart.

To be honest, very few people in Konoha liked the man.

Finally, Ibiki Morino sighed helplessly. He formed hand seals and dispelled the seals on the interrogation room.

Torune collapsed powerlessly to the ground, gasping for breath.

Ibiki Morino looked at Torune on the ground, a hint of pity flashing in his eyes.

After all, no matter what, this guy was just a pawn executing orders.

Ibiki Morino came out of the interrogation room, taking deep breaths of the slightly fresher air outside, hoping to dispel the gloom lingering in his heart.

After a good while, Ibiki Morino forced himself to pull it together, turned around, and prepared to return to the interrogation room.

He still held a glimmer of hope, thinking that perhaps he could extract something more from Torune.

But when he pushed open the door, the sight before him instantly froze him in place.

Torune's body was slumped against the chair, his original position now occupied by a pool of thick, dark red blood.

His mouth was wide open, half his tongue had fallen to the ground, and fresh blood continuously seeped from the corners of his mouth, pooling into a puddle on the floor.

Even more horrifying, countless black insects were drilling out of Torune's seven orifices and wounds, frantically devouring his body.

These insects were dense and swarming, their wriggling bodies intertwined, emitting a chilling rustling sound.

The man was definitely beyond saving.

As the sun set, the wild wind dispersed the clouds. Konoha was bathed in a warm orange afterglow, as if draped in a layer of soft gauze.

The Uchiha Clan compound was filled with the smoke of daily life, exuding peace and warmth everywhere.

In an open space of the compound, a group of children were playing and laughing.

Some children were playing hide-and-seek, while others sat together sharing snacks. Their clear laughter echoed in the air, oblivious to all worldly troubles.

By the nearby river, several mothers were squatting on the stone steps, washing clothes while chatting about household matters, occasionally bursting into hearty laughter.

At this moment, the clan members of the police force had finished their day's patrol mission. Although their steps were somewhat weary, their expressions showed the satisfaction of a job well done.

They walked in twos and threes towards the small shops on the street, preparing to buy some food to add a few delicacies to their dinner.

The shop owners greeted them warmly, and laughter echoed from inside the shops.

Uchiha Ren stood silently to the side, looking at this harmonious and beautiful scene, his heart a mixture of emotions.

He sighed softly, shaking his head helplessly.

Beneath this seemingly peaceful exterior was a hidden crisis capable of destroying everything.

Who could have imagined that the Konoha higher-ups would have the heart to carry out a brutal massacre against such a clan, regardless of men, women, old, or young?

They claimed it was for the peace and stability of the village, but how much of a threat could these clan members, unarmed and living ordinary lives, possibly pose to Konoha?

Uchiha Ren was deep in thought when suddenly, a purple figure instantly appeared before him.

He looked up; it was the purple-haired kunoichi he often met.

"The clan head is calling for you at his house."

Uchiha Ren came back to his senses, nodded lightly, and turned to walk towards Uchiha Fugaku's house.

Arriving before Uchiha Fugaku's grand mansion, he heard intense arguing voices even before stepping inside.

He frowned slightly and gently pushed open the half-closed door. Uchiha Fugaku and his wife, Mikoto Uchiha, were standing in the center of the living room, their emotions agitated as they argued fiercely about something.

Fugaku's face was flushed, his hands unconsciously clenched. Mikoto's eyes were red, her voice carrying a trace of a tremble.

In a corner, a small figure was squatting, listening intently to the commotion inside.

Uchiha Ren walked over lightly. His footsteps, though soft, still startled Sasuke.

Sasuke suddenly turned his head, his eyes meeting Uchiha Ren's.

Uchiha Ren was the first to show a gentle smile and softly greeted, "Sasuke, don't get involved in adult matters."

Sasuke blinked, first obediently nodding, but then immediately shook his head again, his innocent face filled with conflict.

It seemed that these complicated adult matters were indeed difficult for him to understand.

Uchiha Ren looked at Sasuke's expression and heard the argument in the room still raging like a volcano. He sighed helplessly and suggested, "Let's go. We shouldn't stay here. We'll go for a walk and come back after they've finished arguing."
