"You're evil," Yuyan said, but she was grinning.
"I prefer 'strategically vindictive,'" Shuyin corrected. She turned to Chen Xiao, her expression softening. "Are you done eating, sweetheart?"
The little boy nodded, his plate nearly empty.
"Good. Why don't you and Yuyan go up to the room? I'll come check on you in a bit."
"Okay!" Chen Xiao slid off his chair. "That was the best dinner ever! Even if everyone else was being weird."
Yuyan took his hand, leading him out of the dining room. As they passed the hallway where the Lin family was recovering, they could hear Chen Madam's weak voice: "Call a doctor... We've been poisoned..."
