The ruins were silent.
Toneri's entire body was wrapped in a green chakra cloak, pale-white pupils flowing with faint blue light.
He could feel a power he'd never possessed before. It was a realm that belonged to gods—absolute confidence bestowed by the Tenseigan (Reincarnation Eye).
Opposite him, a purple energy giant rose from the ground, its massive body blotting out the distant Earth.
Madara stood within the crystal at the giant's forehead, arms folded, Rinnegan staring down at Toneri with cold indifference.
Toneri moved.
No sound. No warning. His body became a green afterimage, crossing a thousand meters in an instant.
The golden light sword formed from Gudōdama (Truth-Seeking Orbs) gathered a power capable of splitting stars, stabbing straight for Susanoo's head.
This strike was unimaginably fast—packed with destruction.
A far larger purple tachi appeared in its path by a hair's breadth.
There was no sharp clang of metal.
Instead, the violent collision of energy detonated into an explosion, and the shockwave ground whole stretches of rock beneath them into powder.
Toneri was forced back by the impact, hovering midair, unable to understand.
His speed—his timing—were flawless.
How did the other side keep up?
Inside the purple giant, the corner of Madara's mouth curled into a sneer.
"This is the power of the Otsutsuki?"
"You don't even have the right to make me dance. Too weak."
Toneri's expression sank.
It was an insult.
An insult from a mortal.
He couldn't tolerate it.
Green chakra erupted again, fiercer than before.
Toneri's figure split in the air, becoming dozens of afterimages that attacked Susanoo from all directions.
Every afterimage swung a golden light sword, sealing every possible angle of evasion.
This was divine speed—far beyond human comprehension.
Susanoo finally moved.
No wasted motion—only the twin blades in its hands swung.
Every slash of the purple blades was perfectly placed, each block immaculate.
Toneri felt like a flying insect—no matter which direction he burst from, an invisible net would catch him with pinpoint precision.
The helplessness made him furious, but he couldn't change anything.
Madara's Susanoo was like the most precise combat machine.
It always produced the most perfect guard and counter at the very moment before Toneri struck.
The more Toneri fought, the more alarmed he became.
Impossible.
His movement patterns, his attack habits—even the way his chakra flowed—felt completely seen through.
Toneri jerked back, widening the distance between them.
He panted, the confidence in his heart beginning to shake.
"His high-speed movement is essentially an explosive chakra propulsion at specific spatial points. Each burst point has a 0.3-second preparation window."
"His right-hand sword habit is a downward cleave. His left-hand sword habit is a horizontal sweep—battle instinct carved into the bone."
"His weakness is the brief stiffness after each change of direction."
Lines of synchronized information rang out in Madara's mind.
Madara looked at Toneri in the distance, the contempt in his eyes growing even deeper.
A foe crushed in intelligence, with every card exposed, was nothing more than a puppet on strings.
Toneri realized too—ordinary attacks were useless now.
He needed absolute power to crush this arrogant mortal in front of him.
He raised both hands high, pouring all of his chakra into his palms without restraint.
The Gudōdama transformed and fused.
A green sphere of energy, radiating terrifying fluctuations, gradually took shape in his hands.
"Accept judgment!"
Toneri roared, hurling the sphere forward.
"Kinrin Tensei Baku (Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion)!"
A golden light sword swept out, striking the green sphere directly.
The sphere exploded instantly, transforming into a golden beam cannon that tore across heaven and earth, blasting straight toward Susanoo!
Where the beam passed, the Moon's surface was plowed into a bottomless trench.
An attack capable of splitting the Moon in two.
Facing that world-ending strike, Madara didn't even move.
"It's over."
Madara's words held no emotion.
The golden light cannon slammed into Susanoo's armor, erupting into blinding brilliance.
The entire Moon shook under the force.
The light faded.
The purple giant stood there—
Not a scratch on it.
Toneri froze.
His strongest power couldn't even break the other side's defense?
"How… is that… possible…"
His faith was collapsing.
"Your power is too scattered," Madara's voice rang out again. "True power is extreme concentration."
Toneri couldn't accept it. He couldn't lose.
He was an Otsutsuki descendant—a god destined to destroy the filthy world.
"I won't lose!"
Toneri went completely mad.
He abandoned all technique, releasing every last bit of chakra he had left.
Centered on him, a gigantic tornado storm began to form.
The green chakra storm spun wildly, devouring everything on the ground and grinding it into dust.
The storm grew larger and larger, nearly covering the entire battlefield.
"Ginrin Tensei Baku (Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion)!"
A wide-area annihilation—inescapable.
Madara watched the enormous storm rolling in, and for the first time, interest flickered.
"Now this is a little interesting."
He didn't dodge.
Susanoo's colossal body brought its hands together, merging the two tachis into one.
A far larger chakra blade appeared in the giant's hand.
Then black flames ignited along the blade—
Amaterasu's fire.
"Enton: Raijin (Blaze Release: Thunder God)!"
Madara shouted low.
Susanoo raised the enormous blade wreathed in black fire and brought it down.
There was no earth-shaking roar.
A black slash detached from the blade, surging forward to meet the green storm head-on.
The black line collided with the massive tornado.
Something bizarre happened.
That chakra storm—capable of destroying everything—caught the black flames in an instant, like paper set alight.
The black fire spread backward along the flow of chakra, reversing through the storm.
In a single second, the entire green tornado was dyed black.
The storm was cleaved cleanly down the middle.
The black flames followed the chakra linkage, burning straight into the center—toward Toneri.
Toneri felt a fear he had never known.
He tried to cut off the chakra connection, but it was too late.
Black flames swallowed his entire body.
"AAAAH!"
A shriek tore through the Moon's dead silence.
The green chakra cloak on Toneri was rapidly devoured and dismantled.
Tenseigan Chakra Mode was forcibly interrupted.
He fell from the sky in a wretched tumble, crashing into the ruins and kicking up a cloud of dust.
The battle was over.
Susanoo slowly dispersed, and Madara's figure returned to the ground.
He glanced at the dying Toneri in the distance and didn't bother looking again.
Footsteps approached.
Shinju stepped out from behind a boulder and walked up to Toneri.
Toneri lay on the ground, charred black, his body twitching from agony.
He struggled to open his eyes. The Tenseigan (Reincarnation Eye) that once shone with sacred light was now filled with unwilling rage.
He stared at the youth before him.
"You lost."
Shinju's voice was calm, emotionless.
"The era of the Otsutsuki is over."
Toneri glared at him, grinding words out between his teeth.
"You… who are you?"
Why had this boy appeared here? Why would Madara follow his orders? What was behind all of this?
"Who I am? Does it matter?"
Shinju crouched, placing a hand on Toneri's forehead.
"What matters is that your power… will be mine."
A pulling force came from Shinju's palm.
Toneri's consciousness blurred, his vision twisting.
His bloodline, his chakra, the Tenseigan he took such pride in—everything was leaving him.
The Moon battle ended in the Legends Corps' overwhelming victory—so overwhelming that many hadn't even gotten a chance to fight.
And the future of the shinobi world would, in Shinju's hands, move toward an entirely new direction.
