Chapter 149 - Chapter 149

Across the land, cracks spread everywhere.

Edo Madara stood there, looking down on the trembling Allied Shinobi Forces at his feet.

His Rinnegan turned, ready to make this rotten world dance before absolute power.

Just as he was about to move—

Two figures appeared out of thin air, landing not far in front of him, without hand seals or any warning.

One of them wore red layered armor. Long black hair fell loose, and a gentle yet overpowering smile rested on his face.

Hashirama.

Edo Madara's gaze shifted to the other man.

That man wore the same Warring States armor as him, held a flaming gunbai, and his wild black hair spiked up arrogantly. His face was exactly the same as Madara's in his youth.

The only difference—

Those eyes were pure Mangekyo Sharingan, and there wasn't the slightest trace of death in them.

Edo Madara's expression instantly turned ugly.

A figure so familiar it couldn't be more familiar—someone who should have been "him"—made his mind seize up in a way it never had before.

An absurd, outrageous feeling flooded his entire brain.

"Hashirama?!" he asked, uncertainty in his voice.

"And… me?!"

Edo Madara's eyes swept back and forth between the two, trying to find a flaw.

This had to be some kind of genjutsu—an illusion so outrageous it could perfectly replicate the peak forms of both him and Hashirama.

Other than that, he couldn't imagine any method that could achieve something like this.

"Impossible! What kind of cheap illusion is this?!" he roared, trying to use his voice to drive away the shaking in his heart.

Far away, inside a mountain cave, Kabuto sat cross-legged atop the massive body of a giant snake.

Before him, inside the pupils of a small white snake, the battlefield was being broadcast in real time.

The instant those two figures appeared, the smug grin on Kabuto's face froze solid.

He saw Hashirama.

That much was within his expectations—his opponents also had strong Edo Tensei assets.

But when he saw the other Madara, all the blood drained from his face.

"Two Madaras?!" Kabuto's body trembled uncontrollably. Through the sensory link of his summoned snake, he could clearly feel it—

That newly appeared Madara had chakra flow and vitality that only the living possessed.

"The other one is alive?!"

What was this?

This completely exceeded his understanding—exceeded everything he believed he knew about the shinobi world's entire system of ninjutsu.

He was controlling the strongest undead in the world…

Yet on that battlefield, he was seeing a living legend.

Kabuto nearly dispelled Edo Tensei on the spot.

On the battlefield, Heroic Spirit Madara lifted the gunbai in his hand and pointed it at the Edo body opposite him.

His eyes were filled with undisguised contempt and disgust.

"Look at you—driven by hatred into something this ugly. It's pathetic," he said coldly.

"It's the greatest insult to the name 'Uchiha Madara.' You're not the real Madara."

"And you want to dance? No…"

"You're just a puppet on strings."

"You're asking to die!" Edo Madara was completely enraged.

Those four words—puppet on strings—stabbed straight into his greatest pain at this very moment.

He could tolerate defeat.

But he would never tolerate being treated like a toy being controlled by someone else.

With a furious roar, chakra erupted wildly from his body.

Blue energy shot into the sky. A massive Susanoo skeleton rapidly gained flesh and armor.

A hundred-meter-tall blue war god rose from the ground, dual blades in hand, swinging down with a momentum that could destroy everything, slashing toward the two below.

Facing that world-ending strike, Heroic Spirit Madara showed no fear.

"Boring parlor tricks."

He released his own chakra as well.

Purple energy surged forth even more violently, and a gigantic Kanzen-tai Susanoo formed in an instant.

The purple war god held a longer blade with a far more ferocious shape. Instead of retreating, it charged straight into the blue blade-light.

Purple and blue collided—two colossal blades crashing together in midair.

A terrifying shockwave exploded outward from the impact point, blasting in all directions.

The earth was torn as if plowed clean—an entire thick layer shaved away—while dust and debris roared into the sky.

Two giants representing the peak of Uchiha power began the most brutal contest of raw force across the wasteland.

At that moment, Hashirama clapped his hands together.

He entered Sennin Mode. Red markings appeared around his eyes.

Vast natural energy poured into his body, transforming his presence completely.

"Senpo: Mokuton: Shinsu Senju!"

With that low declaration, the entire ground began to quake violently.

Behind the two Susanoo, a colossal wooden Buddha statue—many times larger than either of them—slowly rose from deep beneath the earth.

It was so enormous that even just its upper body could look down on the two Susanoo locked in battle.

Behind it, countless gigantic arms unfurled like a forest.

The sky was blotted out. Sunlight was cut off.

The entire battlefield fell under the shadow of that godlike wooden Buddha.

Edo Madara controlled his Susanoo, struggling against the purple "him," while his Rinnegan fixed on the rising giant Buddha—and pressure surged into his chest.

Once upon a time… Hashirama had ended their battle with this very move.

"Hashirama!" Edo Madara let out a roar full of unwillingness.

Hashirama stood atop the wooden construct's head, his expression stern.

"Madara… you took the wrong road."

The moment those words fell, every single arm of Shinsu Senju moved.

Thousands upon thousands of massive wooden fists—carrying the intent to crush everything—poured down on the blue Susanoo like divine punishment.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The impacts blended into one continuous thunderclap.

Each punch made the blue Susanoo's armor shake violently.

First punch—cracks appeared.

Tenth punch—the cracks spread across its body like a spiderweb.

Hundredth punch—a huge shoulder plate was smashed into fragments.

Edo Madara's strongest defense, under this relentless, unreasonable saturation assault, looked unbelievably fragile.

At the same time, the purple Susanoo seized the opening. Its long blade erupted with dazzling energy, and with a sweeping slash, it cleaved hard into the blue Susanoo's waist.

Under the double pressure, the blue war god's armor could no longer hold shape.

Starting from the waist, it shattered inch by inch, turning into countless scattered points of energy light.

Edo Madara's strongest defense was broken head-on.

He fell from the sky and slammed into the ground. His Edo body tumbled several times before finally stopping.

He lifted his head, staring up at the giant Buddha still looking down on him—

Staring at the figure identical to himself—

His eyes filled with unwillingness and madness.

"Ha… Hashirama! Madara! You think this is enough to beat me?!" Edo Madara roared, his hands already flying through seals.

He still had trump cards.

He still had the power of the Rinnegan.

He could still fight!

But Heroic Spirit Madara and Hashirama didn't give him any chance.

Their figures appeared almost at the same moment—one on Edo Madara's left, one on his right.

In Hashirama's hand was a massive wooden club formed instantly by Wood Release, wrapped in dense senjutsu chakra.

In Heroic Spirit Madara's hand was the giant flaming gunbai, its face gathering black flames capable of burning everything.

No extra words.

Their attacks fell at the same time.

The wooden club, carrying crushing force, slammed down on Edo Madara's left side.

The gunbai, carrying sky-burning black flame, smashed fiercely into his right.

Caught between two world-destroying powers, Edo Madara's body didn't even have time to release a scream—

It was completely annihilated, turning into swirling dust and fragments.

Inside the cave.

Through the white snake's eyes, Kabuto watched the entire godlike battle from start to finish.

From the descent of two gods…

To the clash of double Susanoo…

To the crushing rain of Shinsu Senju…

And finally, that decayed, joint finishing blow.

His mind went blank. His spirit utterly collapsed.

The intelligence he took pride in.

The war he had meticulously planned.

The Madara he considered his trump card—

Before absolute power, it was all a joke.

"I lost…"

"I lost completely."

Only then did Kabuto understand:

What he had summoned wasn't a god.

It was a demon of destruction that would ruin him.

And the ones on the other side—

Those were real gods.

The battlefield returned to silence.

A calm voice came through a special communicator at Hashirama and Heroic Spirit Madara's ears.

"Well done. Clean up the remaining trash. Prepare to wrap it up."

Shinju's voice was flat, as if that earth-shaking battle just now had been nothing more than an insignificant rehearsal.
