Chapter 646 - Chapter 151: Emergency Protocol? (Part 3)

[Mercer: Is this the first time I've fought alongside you like this?]

[V: Haha, want to see who moves faster?]

[Mercer: Then you're definitely going to lose. I am now the true cybernetic Superman.]

These two were speaking at incredibly fast speeds, almost as fast as their actions exceeded normal Sianwistan speeds, but even so, within the time of three sentences, Mercer and V had already dashed through the hail of bullets, arriving before the Orbital Aviation soldiers outside the door.

The leader, Wade, without hesitation activated his Sianwistan as well, but soon found in horror that these two bastards were still moving too fast for him to react!

"Earthlings are faster than you think, Moon People."

V's mocking voice came from under the helmet. Wade barely had time to sidestep, trying to avoid the Mantis Blade extending from V's armored arm, but the next moment, an Octopus Arm crushed his skull.

"Damn it! That was my kill!"

V's complaint went unanswered because Mercer had already charged into the crowd like a meat grinder, spinning and turning his Octopus Arm into a whipping tornado of blood and flesh.

In the distance, Lark watched in stunned silence, but she reacted quickly; realizing her armor was bulletproof, she hurriedly followed at full speed.

Even if she couldn't clearly see Mercer and V's moves, or even their figures, she could see a swath of people suddenly dropping dead... wasn't that enough?

The robots and soldiers ready outside the door were almost completely annihilated like uprooted weeds; their original goal was to block Mercer and the others in the narrow corridor and eliminate them with concentrated firepower.

But now, their blockade at the entrance had become the perfect slaughterhouse for Mercer and V.

A few dozen people in this ambush were down to nothing but pieces of bloody limbs in just over thirty seconds. V flicked off the Mantis Blade and then retracted it back into his armor: "Where do we run?"

"This way." Mercer unhesitatingly rushed to one side of the corridor at full speed, and V followed without a word, while Lark, carrying a life-support pack, briskly trailed them: "Slow down! You're too fast!"

Mercer didn't hesitate but retraced their original path—by the time Lark opened her propulsion device on her back, overturned a table, and caught up to Mercer and V, the hall they had originally passed was already a river of blood.

"Warning! Emergency protocols are about to be executed, countdown, thirty seconds..."

A countdown accompanied by alarm bells sounded in their ears. Lark looked at Mercer, who was sitting at a computer desk studying something and hurriedly asked: "What do we do! Where do we go now!"

"Relax..." said Mercer, still unhurriedly. He just reached out to Lark, tapped his head, and tilted it, gesturing for her to observe the surroundings.

As Lark looked carefully, it became clear that not everyone in the room had been killed by Mercer.

In fact, some ordinary Orbital Aviation employees that Mercer and V hadn't eliminated were scrambling around, grabbing what seemed to be spacesuits and trying to put them on amidst screams.

At that moment, Lark instantly understood: "No bombs!?"

"Come on, Lilith is an AI. Blowing up the base does what for her? Plus, everyone in the base can hear the countdown. Look, these people aren't in a panic to run; can't you guess the situation?"

Mercer's words annoyed Lark: "Weren't you the one who said there'd be a big bang..."

"Didn't I just say it was a possibility?" Mercer said and then summarized the current situation.

"There's good news and bad news, which one do you want to hear?" He said, looking at the two as he watched the countdown on the screen approaching the last ten seconds.

"Just say it!" V tapped him on the shoulder. Now wasn't the time to keep them in suspense.

"The good news is, the base won't explode."

Mercer shrugged: "The bad news... is that we're about to experience the real Moon."

"The real Moon!?" V was taken aback.

The greatest threat from space was silently descending upon them.

When the countdown ended, the entire base seemed to tremble as if experiencing an earthquake, and the next moment, it felt like a strong wind was sweeping through the base.

The air in the room seemed to turn into a giant push, launching them towards the ceiling. Mercer quickly extended his hand, pulling Lark and V, using his armor's propulsion to stand as steady as a rock.

The remaining Orbital Aviation researchers weren't so lucky. At that moment, an employee who hadn't managed to put on his helmet screamed as he was pushed down by the air current, tumbling as his helmet rolled away.

Without much time to look horrified, his expression quickly twisted in agony, clutching his chest on the ground, his mouth opened wide but unable to say a word.

The other Orbital Aviation employees were also swept away by the sudden gale, with some even being blown upwards, slowly descending much slower than they would on Earth.

"Hey? Mercer? What the hell is this?" V was startled but then noticed the sudden silence.

The sound of his voice seemed only audible to himself, not passing outside his helmet at all.

On his helmet's screen, text appeared automatically.

[Detected entry into a vacuum environment, oxygen cycle activated—do not open your armor to prevent depressurization, which may cause bodily damage or death due to the vacuum.]

[Mercer: Stop shouting, there's no air now, sound can't travel. Use our squad's comms.]

[V: Why did it suddenly turn into a vacuum?]

[Lark: The pressure valves were opened... now, the pressure inside is quickly equalizing with the outside, which means all the gas in the base is being drawn out to the Moon!]

The Gravity Device has also been turned off! This place has become a total vacuum Moon prison!
