Chapter 91: Bomber? Little Aizen!
Greed Island, a remote jungle area.
A cave that appeared completely ordinary from the outside was actually the base of the largest organization on Greed Island—the Nickes' Alliance.
Though the entrance was small, the interior was surprisingly spacious.
In the massive cavern, over a hundred members of the Nickes' Alliance had gathered together.
At Genthru's suggestion, Nickes, the leader of the Nickes' Alliance, had summoned everyone. Standing in the center, he raised his hands and spoke loudly.
"Everyone!"
"Currently, we possess ninety types of designated slot cards, totaling one hundred thirty-three cards. This is all thanks to everyone's efforts, for which I'm deeply grateful."
"Of the remaining ten cards, we already know the whereabouts of seven. The remaining cards held by their current owners are also within our grasp, essentially no different from already being in our possession."
"Originally, for safety's sake, we needed to collect more defensive spell cards and movement spell cards. But as Genthru said, time no longer permits us to proceed step by step."
"I'm sure everyone has heard recently that besides Tsezguerra, there's another person who has been madly plundering other players' cards over the past week, with their designated card count already exceeding eighty. If we let them continue this chaotic development, they'll soon become a threat to us."
"We must clear this game before these two groups do."
Nickes scanned the room, seeing the joy and excitement of impending victory on everyone's faces. He paused briefly before loudly declaring their victory.
"Everyone! Victory is right before us!"
But just as everyone was about to cheer, a voice suddenly spoke up.
"May I... ask a question?"
Nickes looked up and saw that the speaker was Genthru. Thinking he had something important to announce, Nickes yielded his position, allowing him to come to the center.
As one of the original ten members who founded the Nickes' Alliance, Nickes trusted Genthru completely.
"Five years... not too long, not too short." Genthru stood in the center, pushing up his glasses with his middle finger. "There's something I need to tell everyone now."
"I am the Bomber." Genthru said calmly, as if mentioning something trivial.
Everyone had been eagerly anticipating what they thought would be good news, never expecting to be hit with such a thunderbolt.
"What kind of joke is this?"
"Hey, what nonsense are you talking?"
...
Many people below still thought Genthru was joking. After all, over these five years, Genthru had given everyone the impression of being an extremely gentle, understanding, and good person.
"I'm telling the truth."
"I know you're all anxious right now, but don't be hasty. Listen to me first." Genthru raised his hand to quiet the commotion. "Not even the other nine members who originally established this Nickes' Alliance knew about this. Those nine people aren't my partners, so don't go questioning them."
"Now, let's get down to business..."
"I've already planted bombs on all of you."
Genthru's simple statement was like a bomb dropped into a lake, immediately causing an uproar in the chamber...
For a moment, everyone was agitated.
Abengane sat in the corner observing everything, unable to stop the image of that man from surfacing in his mind.
Everything had unfolded exactly as he predicted.
Someone in the crowd could no longer contain themselves and stepped forward to confront Genthru.
"What? How did you..."
"Damn it! Stop talking nonsense!"
"Everyone, please calm down and listen to me." Genthru waved his hand, signaling for the crowd to settle.
"How can you expect us to calm down!"
Indeed, when their very lives were at stake, how could they not be agitated?
"I'll kill you!"
A figure swiftly moved behind Genthru, hands reaching for his head.
The attacker was Jispa, the chief combatant of the Nickes' Alliance and one of the original ten members.
Jispa had known Genthru for five years and was aware that he wasn't a combat specialist. Even if he was the Bomber, so what?
In their understanding, the Bomber was either an Emission or Manipulation type Nen user who relied on ambushes to kill.
Now that they knew Genthru was the Bomber, all they needed to do was subdue him. As for the bombs supposedly planted on them, they could simply force him to remove them.
However, Jispa had underestimated his opponent. Someone who could conceal his identity as a mole for five years could certainly hide his combat abilities as well.
In reality, Bomber Genthru was a genuine combat specialist, far more powerful than Jispa.
The moment Jispa moved, Genthru had already reacted. Before Jispa could strike, Jispa's right hand shot out like lightning, grabbing Jispa's face.
Boom!
An explosion sounded.
Jispa collapsed straight to the ground.
The explosion immediately silenced the entire cavern.
"Oh dear, I've gotten ahead of myself in the explanation."
Genthru shook his hand and looked up at his former "companions," a terrifying smile spreading across his face.
"As you've just witnessed, I only need to grab my opponent to make them explode. However, the maximum size I can affect is about that of a basketball."
"This ability is different from the bombs I've planted on all of you—the power isn't that strong." Genthru glanced at Gishpa lying on the ground, his face blown beyond recognition. "So rest assured, he's still alive."
"But the bombs on your bodies are different. If those explode, you will truly die."
"Next, I'll teach you how to defuse the bombs."
"Let me first explain how I planted the bombs on you."
"My ability is called Countdown. I just need to touch the part where I want the explosion to occur while saying the keyword, and the bomb is planted. The keyword is 'Bomber.'"
"Does that ring any bells?" Genthru's lips curled into a cold smile.
The crowd instinctively recalled their various encounters with Genthru, their faces turning increasingly grim.
"But it's not completely hopeless. To defuse the bomb, you need to touch my body while saying 'I caught the Bomber'."
"However, as you just witnessed, I have another ability called Little Flower. I'll use it to prevent you from disarming the bomb."
"You'll need to be extremely careful when attempting to disarm it."
After speaking these final words, Genthru visibly relaxed, though the change was subtle enough that no one else present noticed.
"Why would you tell us about your ability?" Nickes questioned, finding it illogical.
"Because that's the activation condition for his ability. Explaining his power in detail before the target—that's your bomb activation condition, am I right, Bomber?"
A voice suddenly came from outside the cave...
