When Javier led the forces of the crew to the reactor, he thought that this was going to be a fast job. Nothing much to it. A part of him wondered if Burino and John would be there. Sure, it was a silly thought, but it was better than no thought which was barely better than bad thoughts.
"Alright, expect heavy resistance, nothing supernatural but certainly weird."
Surely enough, he was right. There was a strange thing about it. That thing was a fool's hope. A fool. He was a fool to have hope and that was something extraordinary
"What are we going to do if we get ambushed by the other detectives?"
"I don't know, but we'll make it."
Of course, Javier was speaking from a place of foolishness. Though it was true.
"That's reassuring."
Poji had found the time had come. He was quiet most of the time but today, he felt like being a man. He was strong. He could win any brawl you put him in and that's saying plenty. His ability was to summon a wolf by using a sword. He hadn't quite figured it out but he was sure that he was on the right path. He was the most morally well off of the bunch. Especially when you think about the fact that he refused to harm others. Even if they harmed him!
"I volunteer to help deescalate anything when it goes wrong!"
Javier allowed himself to smile. He enjoyed being reminded that he was working in the best interest of the group instead of working purely on the behalf of Mister Sun and Miss Moon.
"Sure, you can absolutely help deescalate anything. But we need to make sure to get that reactor out of there, no matter what."
Meanwhile, the trial ended.
