"Anthea!" Let's begin!
"Go, Bulbasaur!" Ash said as he closed his eyes, summoning Aura Power from within.
Aura resonated with his heart!
The powerful Aura was infused into Bulbasaur, and in an instant, Bulbasaur's overall strength soared to the Professional Peak Level!
After receiving that Life Force, Bulbasaur didn't evolve, but its overall physical traits improved, and its Level reached Elite Peak.
If it had been before, Aura Power could only elevate Bulbasaur to Professional Middle Level at best.
The enhancement of Aura Power was related to the Pokémon's own Level and endurance.
Although Bulbasaur hadn't evolved, regardless of its high Ability Value, its endurance was quite limited, but after the recent life reconstruction, its endurance advanced a level and could now be raised by a whole stage.
Venusaur initially intended, being the higher Level opponent, to let Bulbasaur make a few Moves first, but sensing Bulbasaur's explosive power, it was momentarily stunned.
How on earth? It was clearly several times weaker a moment ago. How did it suddenly rise to almost the same tier? This defied logic!
Even with the mysterious Seed of Life, Venusaur took several years to reach such strength!
What was going on with that Bulbasaur? Why did it suddenly seem like a different Pokémon?
"The opponent is also a Grass Type Pokémon. Using Sunny Day or Grassy Terrain would simply buff the opponent. Plus, Grass Type Moves are only a quarter as effective against Venusaur, so the best strategy is... poison!"
Ash didn't attack frivolously; instead, he calmly analyzed the situation.
The guidance from the experts hadn't been in vain. Charging blindly into attack would dishonor their teachings.
The opponent was of the same attribute as Bulbasaur and a more advanced evolution, with superior Ability Values, yet the Levels of both were relatively close.
Given this scenario, using Sunny Day or Grassy Terrain, which boosts Grass Type Pokémon, would rather enhance Venusaur.
Thus, in this battle, neither side could establish the terrain, nor let the opponent do so.
"Bulbasaur, Sludge Bomb!" Ash first commanded Bulbasaur to attack using a normally damaging Poison-type Skill.
"Bulbasaur!"
Bulbasaur leaped into the air, its seed aimed at the Venusaur below, then sprayed a mouthful of eerie purple poison!
Venusaur stomped its foot, causing countless green plants to rise from the ground!
The plants bore countless sharp thorns, which would likely cause grave injury upon contact!
The ultimate Grass Type Move, Frenzy Plant!
This Frenzy Plant was slightly different from the one Bulbasaur used. Bulbasaur's Frenzy Plant lacked those thorns.
Their Frenzy Plant was seemingly for control and restraint, whereas Venusaur's was purely a damaging Skill.
Numerous green plants rose, directly blocking the descending poison.
However, Grass Type Moves had low resistance to Poison-type Moves; in an instant, the countless plants emerging from the ground were invaded and decayed by the poison.
Yet more than half the thorns and greenery flew towards Bulbasaur!
"Dodge with Vine Whip." Ash remained unswayed, calmly commanding.
Bulbasaur couldn't change direction mid-air, but there was a ready-made foothold!
As Frenzy Plant surrounded Bulbasaur, two vine whips stretched out, smacked the Frenzy Plant, and propelled Bulbasaur away using the recoil.
Frenzy Plant pursued relentlessly, but Bulbasaur, utilizing Vine Whip, appeared to dance mid-air, evading every attacking Frenzy Plant.
Venusaur was taken aback; its skill's large scope couldn't even touch that little creature? What a joke!
It felt like the opponent could completely anticipate Venusaur's every attack direction, always leaping out of harm's way in advance.
The greenery waved for a full minute without brushing Bulbasaur once; the duration of Frenzy Plant was over by then.
The thorny vines slowly disappeared, and Venusaur gasped for breath.
Even for a Professional Level Venusaur, using a high-level Skill like Frenzy Plant was quite consuming.
The wide-ranging Skill failing to touch Bulbasaur was devastating for Venusaur.
Bulbasaur descended back to the ground as the vines vanished, its body's seed accumulating energy.
"Sludge Bomb!" Ash continued with the Poison-type Skill strategy; other Moves inflicted inadequate damage to Venusaur.
Bulbasaur jumped again, unleashing the accumulated poison from the seed on its back. This time, Venusaur couldn't use Moves to block or move itself.
Frenzy Plant was indeed powerful, but such potent Skills carried side effects. After using Frenzy Plant, a brief period prevented movement.
While some Pokémon could train to shorten the immobility, wild Pokémon wouldn't typically have structured plans for such training.
Recklessly using Frenzy Plant wouldn't happen under a Trainer, either.
This was the difference between having a Trainer or not.
The poison sprayed from Bulbasaur's seed drenched Venusaur, and the bubbling purple Toxic made Venusaur cry out in pain.
Yet, it could only be continuously eroded by Sludge Bomb without any way to counter.
"Continue with Sludge Bomb!"
After Bulbasaur landed, Ash commanded once more.
The dark purple liquid spewed again. With the short interval between the two Skills, Venusaur still hadn't escaped immobilization, so it was hit by Sludge Bomb again.
However, after this Move, Venusaur regained freedom, extending six vine whips from its petals towards Bulbasaur.
Having observed Bulbasaur's maneuvers, Venusaur decided to bind it, ensuring Bulbasaur couldn't escape.
Yet, as the six whips furiously lashed towards Bulbasaur, they failed to touch Bulbasaur.
"Frenzy Plant's vast range was evaded by my Bulbasaur. Why do you think the vine whips would reach Bulbasaur?" Ash retorted, causing Venusaur to be dumbfounded.
Indeed, Frenzy Plant's large range was dodged. How could whips be different?
Under Aura Power's observation, such slow Moves couldn't touch Bulbasaur, like hitting a sandbag incapable of fighting back.
Despite Bulbasaur being Professional Senior Level now, even at Professional Junior Level, it could overpower Venusaur easily.
"Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip, flip Venusaur over!" As Bulbasaur dodged the opponent's attack, Ash loudly commanded, instructing Bulbasaur to use Vine Whip against Venusaur.
Vine Whip wouldn't cause much harm to Venusaur, but it was simply meant to restrict Venusaur's movement.
As Ash's words fell, four vine whips extended from Bulbasaur, binding Venusaur's paws. In the next moment, Bulbasaur abruptly exerted force, lifting Venusaur's entire body with Vine Whip, then flipped it upside down with force!
"Boom!"
