"Human-headed dog?"
Su Ming touched the chin of his mask, first thinking of LOL and Dota, and then recalled the things he saw on Earth -11.
Even though he knew gene experiments were generally like that, he didn't expect the British to also enjoy this kind of thing.
Then he heard dense footsteps coming from the hallway, sounding like a giant spider crawling, with many legs hitting the ground and the sound echoing in the narrow space.
"Tap, tap, tap..."
This sound didn't seem like a dog. Although dogs aren't silent like cats, the height of their leg lifts wouldn't make such a big noise.
"Uh, they seem to have found me. You don't mind if I lead them over here, do you?" Wade seemed a bit embarrassed, with his hands behind his back, asking hesitantly.
"No problem, it's just money deductions." Su Ming smiled and drew the Godslayer; in a narrow place like the hallway, transforming weapons worked better.
However, contrary to his imagination, what appeared at the end of the hallway wasn't some gene-spliced monster, but a group of small, bipedal, lizard-like humanoid creatures.
They wore beast hides, held crude sticks and short spears, and hissed as they approached.
"These aren't human-headed dogs; they're kobolds." Su Ming sighed helplessly, "These are two completely different creatures, okay?"
One is a failed gene experiment, the other a magic creature, completely unrelated.
Deadpool clicked his tongue at the corner of his mouth and scratched his head: "Oh, that's the word. I couldn't think of it suddenly. So, do we fight? These little guys look pretty crazy."
Monac took a few steps forward, raised his staff high, and it emitted a strong light, turning the entire passage snow-white.
"Kobolds are underground creatures. Their appearance here is likely an accident. Let me try to communicate with them."
Marvel's underworld has everything and belongs to a realm of unknowns.
As Su Ming knew, underground there are the Mole People and their kingdom, a bunch of fantasy creatures including dragons and minotaurs, various aliens fleeing to Earth, and the corpses of the first generation of Celestial Gods Group members.
Handling the affairs of the underworld usually falls under the responsibility of the mages. Not all of these underground creatures are beyond comprehension.
For example, the 'Goblin Black Market', often trading with mages, has its headquarters underground with very convenient passages that can bring rare magic props and materials from different dimensions to Earth and organize auctions.
They exchange Earth specialties and energy, then sell back to other dimensions for profits.
Of course, they do not consider bidders' privacy. If you do not have strong skills, attending their auctions might leave you with nothing but bones.
After all, by then, you might be bidding against humanoid dragons or Lords of Hell. Displeasing them isn't something easy to escape from.
In the future, a group of Dark Elves under 'Spicy Chicken Strips' will also relocate underground. Losing their leader, they have no choice but to sell goods across the cosmos to maintain a living, establishing another Marvel world auction house, the 'Hell Trading Association.'
By then, you could barter to trade for almost the entire cosmos' tech products from them.
From major Kree warships to those cosmos game consoles played by Groot, they sell everything, but of course, they do not care about what consequences the trade might lead to.
At this moment, Monac is ready to fulfill the duty of a mage, driving the magic creatures back underground, as they should not appear before ordinary people.
Right above everyone is London, and it's still wartime, so if these strange things make it to the surface, the ensuing chain reaction is unimaginable.
Now there are rampant rumors that the German Xiaohuzi gained power from Hell, with countless devils serving the Third Empire, causing widespread panic.
As underground creatures, kobolds fear bright light. Monac used restrictive magic to intimidate them, borrowing its strong light from the unspeakable Light Ball Evil God.
Yes, this bright, dazzling white light like the sun is actually an authentic dark magic.
His tribe was once deceived by this warm, beautiful scene, leading to a tragic end.
No more thinking; this strong light magic can't last too long. He stretched his staff forward, and as expected, the kobolds on the opposite side started to retreat fearfully, making chatter.
The other three became spectators, watching as the mage and kobolds communicated in an incomprehensible language.
"Is he making friends with those little monsters?" Deadpool sheathed his samurai sword, crossed his arms standing by Su Ming, seemingly eager to try making kobolds pets: "These little creatures look fierce, just like bulldogs. Check out their scales and sharp fangs."
Su Ming shrugged, noncommittal: "If you want to raise kobolds, you should consider how to prevent it from biting off your sausage while you sleep with Vanessa."
"Uh, forget it, I suddenly lost interest in raising dogs." Wade clamped his legs tightly, as if envisioning that situation. Though with self-healing abilities, he wouldn't take chances with the 'sausage': "I reconsidered; maybe I'll raise something like Little Spiders or lizards instead."
Who knows if a newly grown sausage will still work?
Dr. Holloway closed his eyes to rest while they chatted, pinching his brow continuously. He had seen so much today, enough to change his worldview.
So many unknowns and dangers exist in the world, and he used to think helping a few people on the streets of New York made him a hero. How laughable, his past self was still too naive.
He's very thankful to Deathstroke for showing him the dark side of the world. Having lived for thirty years, he finally saw a peek beneath the world's veil.
He must try even harder in the future.
The communication between the mage and the kobolds didn't last long and ended with the kobolds retreating. Knowing the power of a strong human mage, they quickly abandoned their original goal and planned to return underground.
Monac watched them retreat along the original path and disappear from view, then extinguished the magic in his hand, sighed, and again pulled two rabbits from his hat, slowly strangled them, and began to sob.
"Uh, your friend seems a bit... sentimental?" Deadpool whispered to Su Ming. Having seen many crazy people, some laugh after killing, some cry, but killing rabbits... is it that hard?
Su Ming patted his shoulder: "Mages differ from ordinary folks; it's their choice and their freedom."
"True, I once saw Doctor Strange streaking naked on the street—it must also be his personal hobby..." Deadpool nodded approvingly. People should be free and unfettered: "Speaking of which, Slade, where did you get this Magic Floating Cloak? Now that you have it, what about Doctor Strange?"
The cloak swayed slightly behind Su Ming, seemingly intrigued as well.
"Who cares? It's not like there's only one magical cloak. If he's really that capable, he could try to snatch Dr. Doom's."
Deadpool gave a mischievous grin, patted Su Ming's shoulder, while the collar of the cloak slightly fluttered, as if it heard something interesting...
