Just as those people were high-fiving and celebrating, Deadpool suddenly sat up from the ground.
Stumbling, stumbling, like he was drunk, he made his way over to a wall, propping himself up with one hand on the slimy, moss-covered surface.
He forcefully pulled out the rib bone lodged in his head, and a gush of blood mixed with brain matter flowed out. He felt a bit dizzy and casually tossed the bone aside.
The people in raincoats stared blankly at him, and Deadpool turned his head and glared at them fiercely.
"Damn it, do you know how disgusting that is? Your guts sprayed all over me; who's going to cover the dry cleaning bill for my suit? This uniform is brand new; I've only had it on for a few hours. Can you afford to pay?"
Those on the other side exchanged glances, seemingly not having discussed any compensation. Besides, they clearly outnumbered him, with over a dozen at the door. What compensation does a dead man need?
Deadpool shook his head and began to pluck out one bone after another from his body. Blood spurted out like a fountain, as if he'd become a human watering can, dousing the garden lawn.
Then he remembered he lived in a cheap apartment with no garden.
Next, he looked at his hand that was propping up the wall and let out a shriek. It turned out that his adopted pet mouse had been skewered by a rib through his palm and was pressed firmly against the wall, turning into a little pancake…
"Wallace? No!!!" Deadpool withdrew his trembling hand, looking at the lifeless mouse whose shifty eyes had lost their sparkle: "You actually killed my pet. Not even my dad dared to do that because he disappeared when I was little!"
He quickly plucked out the extra bones from his body, tossed away the dead mouse, grabbed his two swords, and charged at them.
And so an intense firefight immediately broke out.
Su Ming watched the battle unfold from behind the corner of a distant wall.
The opponents turned out to be all mutants. Presumably, the one who spewed bones and viscera earlier was a Sea Cucumber Ability User, and the others each had their own superpowers. They used their abilities with great skill and seemed to be a well-organized, highly competent group.
These mutants were unfamiliar, and he had no idea where they came from.
But now they were undoubtedly all enemies, right?
"You two, keep your distance. These power users have all sorts of abilities; be careful. I'll go give him a hand."
Su Ming drew the Godslayer, giving a word to the Doctor and the Mage. Even as formidable as Deadpool was, handling over a dozen opponents would leave him overwhelmed, and his self-healing needed time; once his limbs were severed, he'd be ripe for the taking.
In Su Ming's impression though, Deadpool had worn some kind of armor, likely designed by Tony, but Deadpool complained it wasn't breathable or flexible enough. He wore it once and then resold it.
Deadpool, due to his flamboyant nature, had lots of fans who even liked collecting the original costumes he had worn.
If Wolverine's suits are strong-smelling, Wade's suits would be sauce-flavored, with his blood and flesh still inside...
Good thing he's a cancer patient, so his tissues and blood can't be used, otherwise there'd surely be someone keen on cloning them.
The symbiote seeped out from the gaps in the chain armor, with tendrils extending and anchoring to the sewer ceiling. Su Ming, emulating Spider Hero, crawled from the darkness of the roof towards the back of the battlefield.
The moment he landed, his golden scimitar lopped off a head; that bastard had green skin, somewhat resembling a lizard, and had the ability to spit flames.
Flames posed a great threat to symbiotes, so Su Ming chose him as his target for the surprise attack, ambushing and eliminating the greatest threat first.
Only after the head hit the ground did the sound of Su Ming landing reach them, but no one noticed him.
They were all attacking Deadpool.
"Oh dear, you're stabbing my eye with your tongue. Here's my move, 'Monkey Chops the Peach'! Oh ho, you're a feisty one. You look like a little wolf pup, reminds me of someone. Here, try this; is Wade's almighty fart fragrant or not?"
After chopping off someone's third leg with his sword, he then caught a mutant and rubbed his rear end across the guy's face, and Su Ming thought he heard a 'pfft' sound.
In any case, he perfectly completed the task Su Ming assigned, firmly holding the aggro of all the mutants at the door. His mind was quick, able to pick the right tactics to target and counter the opponents.
And he was incredibly annoying.
He had no bottom line, spewing insults and slurs at the mutants incessantly, causing their eyes to redden with fury and completely ignoring Su Ming slipping onto the battlefield behind them.
In the distance from the battlefront, Monac's magical light effects were very powerful. Through dark magic, he summoned lightning from an alternate dimension, instantly turning a mutant into a charred corpse.
The pitch-black tunnel suddenly lit up like daylight, and Su Ming saw a skeleton frantically gyrating in place, then collapsed with a crash.
This battle definitely saw Holloway achieve the best results; it seemed he awakened a knack for ambush shots. These mutants indeed had commendable abilities, but few could resist bullets, and the continuous gunfire from Holloway's dual pistols brought down mutant after mutant.
With Deadpool locking down the frontline, Deathstroke flanking, and the remote Mage and Doctor providing support, soon enough, only the self-healing ability user who initially spewed viscera remained on the other side.
Smirking, Deadpool approached this opponent, slashing with his dual blades over a dozen times, yet the foe both regenerated and self-detonated, akin to a dog gnawing on a turtle with no point of entry.
"Slade, got any ideas? This guy heals faster than Logan, and the dual blades are useless against him."
Deadpool's dual blades were made from Cabaner Alloy, while not as sturdy as Adamantium, they had the effect of suppressing self-healing abilities, specifically obtained at great expense to deal with his love-hate buddy, Wolverine.
"I got this." The symbiote handed the Nightfall Greatsword to Su Ming. The X Metal on the sword blade emitted a silvery glow, giving the dark greatsword a silver lining. He chose not to slash but delivered a straight thrust from behind the mutant.
The entry was smooth, piercing through the opponent instantly, but once he withdrew the great sword, the wound still healed quickly.
"Hahaha, my ability is undying. You've already lost."
The foe didn't even bother defending, letting Su Ming and Deadpool hack into him at will.
But indeed, as he said, his regeneration was shockingly rapid, and he showed no signs of pain or unease.
"I think I get it now." Su Ming was once again blasted back by an explosion of viscera, and amid the carnage, reached out to grab the airborne Deadpool: "We've got the wrong approach against this guy; he seems like a mass of infinite putty. Chopping away won't destroy his integrity."
"Uh, then isn't he really invincible? This seemingly enhanced self-healing is a real hassle; I've already chopped off over a dozen of his heads and nearly a hundred limbs! I feel like I've stumbled into a slaughterhouse worker's nightmare, perpetually unable to kill the pig in front of me as it keeps grinning!"
Deadpool dodged the enemy lunging at him, not noticing when the guy had gotten a bone-made cleaver and was now chasing Deadpool down, opting to hack him instead of Deathstroke.
Logically speaking, even self-healing should require energy, like food or medicine, but where was the energy coming from? The severed arms, legs, and heads from their cutting lay scattered and piled like a small hill to the side.
Even the law of energy conservation seemed to be defied, and for a moment, Su Ming pondered but then decided to skip that part.
