Happy New Year 2026

Happy New Year 2026, Amazing Readers! 🎉

Hey everyone!

As we stand at the threshold of 2026, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

When I started writing Weave of Ashes, I had no idea Jayde's journey would resonate with so many of you. Watching her grow from a terrified child escaping slavery to a young woman who casually adopts dragons, contracts shadowbeasts, and accidentally collects ancient warriors disguised as adorable kittens (looking at you, Takara) has been incredible—and having you all along for the ride has made it a thousand times better.

Your comments crack me up. Your theories keep me on my toes. Your enthusiasm when Jayde does something badass makes every late-night writing session worth it. And honestly? The fact that you care enough about this weird little found family to keep coming back chapter after chapter means everything to me.

So here we are. New year. New challenges ahead for our favorite disaster child and her increasingly chaotic crew. The Demonic Nematomorpha aren't going to exterminate themselves, Mother Doha needs saving, and Takara's dignity isn't going to recover from being that adorable anytime soon.

Now, here's where I get a tiny bit cheeky:

I have a dream for 2026. A goal, if you will. A completely reasonable, not-at-all-ambitious aspiration to get Weave of Ashes into the Top 50 rankings this year.

I know, I know—audacious, right? But here's the thing: we've got the best readers in the game. We've got a protagonist who refuses to stay down. We've got a five-thousand-year-old Lightning Panthera pretending to be a kitten (and failing spectacularly at understanding what "cute" means). We've got wyrmlings learning to fly and ancient artifacts making binding oaths and enough found family feels to fuel a small sun.

So here's my cheeky request:

If you're enjoying Jayde's journey—if Reiko makes you smile, if Yinxin's protective fury gives you feels, if Takara's humiliation makes you laugh, if you're invested in seeing this brilliant disaster child save the world(s)—would you consider:

- Dropping a vote when you finish a chapter? (Pretty please? With Takara's dignity on top?)

- Leaving a review, sharing what you love about the story?

- RecommendingWeave of Ashes to friends who appreciate strong protagonists, found family, and cultivation worlds with actual consequences?

- Sending tickets if you've got extras burning holes in your digital pockets?

Every vote counts. Every review helps. Every recommendation brings new readers into our little community. And who knows? Maybe 2026 is the year we prove that a story about a girl with two souls, a tactical military mind, and an increasingly ridiculous collection of powerful companions deserves a spot in the Top 50.

But most importantly:

Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring about Jayde, Reiko, Yinxin, Isha, Green, White (yes, he's HUMAN and MALE, I will die on this hill), and now our newest addition, the world's most overdramatic kitten.

Here's to 2026. Here's to planetary survival. Here's to Jayde figuring out what it means to be the daughter of a Luminari and a planetary spirit. Here's to Takara maintaining his cover while internally screaming about his lost reputation.

And here's to you—the readers who make this whole crazy journey worthwhile.

May your 2026 be filled with adventure, found family, and significantly fewer parasitic extinction-level threats than Jayde's.

Let's make this year legendary. ✨

With gratitude, chaos, and slightly ridiculous amounts of dragon-related feels,

Tracy Dunwoodie

P.S. - Seriously though, votes and tickets would be amazing. Takara's suffering through this kitten humiliation for your entertainment—the least we can do is help him feel like it contributed to something meaningful. 😉

P.P.S. - If we hit Top 50, I'll write a bonus chapter from Takara's POV during his consultation with Canirr about "what humans find cute." The secondhand embarrassment will be exquisite.
