At this moment, only she, Kai, and a few children who hadn't graduated yet remained at home.
Ron and Harry initially wanted to go to the Ministry of Magic with Hermione, but as soon as they mentioned this idea, Mrs. Weasley refused them mercilessly.
The reason was quite simple—they didn't know Apparition.
If there was danger, Hermione could escape at any time, but going with them would be like bringing along two burdens, and Hermione would have to be distracted by taking care of them, slowing down the escape.
Mrs. Weasley made a logical point, and Ron mumbled for a long time, unable to find a reason to argue back, finally stomping upstairs to express his dissatisfaction.
But Mrs. Weasley didn't care at all.
"Well, I'm going to my room too." Five minutes later, Kai stood up from the chair and said.
"Oh, go ahead." Mrs. Weasley said with a smile, "There's nothing much today; I'll call you when lunch is ready."
"Thanks," Kai said.
He returned to his room via the stairs, and as soon as he entered, a golden-red figure pounced at him.
Kai seemed to know what was happening, reached out to grab Fawkes' claws, and instantly vanished from the room.
When he appeared again, he was already behind a wizard in the fireplace corridor of the Ministry of Magic, and his legs softened, directly crashing into the person and knocking him out of the fireplace.
"Oh, Merlin's beard!" The person exclaimed in shock at the sudden commotion, turning to look at Kai, "Who are you, and what is this about?"
"I'm obviously here through the Floo Network to handle business at the Ministry of Magic." Kai said impatiently, rubbing his head, "What are you doing? If you dawdle any longer, the next person will arrive."
Upon hearing Kai's words, and seeing his staggering footsteps and rubbing of his head, the person quickly said, "Sorry, I might have been distracted."
"It's nothing, just be careful next time." Kai said, stuffing a piece of Sour Explosion Candy into his mouth, "It's best not to linger in the Ministry's fireplace; many people come and go here."
"Ah, I know," the person said.
"Kai, I'm over here." Hermione's voice came from not far away.
She had been waiting here with Mr. Weasley and immediately ran over upon seeing Kai.
"Let's talk as we walk." Kai led her toward the elevators.
"Why did you come out of the fireplace?" Hermione asked in confusion.
Kai glanced back, lowered his voice, and said, "It's less likely to arouse suspicion this way."
"But that's the fireplace, what if..."
"There's no 'what if'." Kai shook his head and said, "The Ministry's fireplace is different from other places; it's usually extinguished, and only lights up with the special Floo Network flames when a wizard comes. There's no need to worry at all."
"Is that so?"
"Of course."
As they spoke, they had already arrived beside the elevator, where many people were waiting.
"Oh, Kai, I was just wondering when I'd see you." An old wizard greeted the two, "I remember you graduated."
"That's right." Kai said, "I've been busy with other things before and couldn't come to work."
"I've heard all about that," the old wizard said. "You went with Scamander to the Dark Forest; that's quite a dangerous place."
"No matter how dangerous, it doesn't compare to yesterday at Godric's Hollow." A witch came over.
"You have such a good relationship with Remus the Auror, you must have attended his wedding, right."
"Of course," Kai said.
"I heard there were seventy Death Eaters there at the time."
"Something like that happened, but I don't know the exact number," Kai said. "I was saved, and I don't know what happened afterward."
Kai knew the people at the Ministry of Magic so well that he was clear about what they wanted to ask, so he simply blocked their questions in advance.
As expected, upon hearing Kai didn't know what happened, the witch's face showed obvious disappointment.
"Ah... Dumbledore saved you all, I heard Lupin mention it."
Just then, the elevator arrived, and everyone else crowded in, leaving Kai waiting outside for the next ride.
A few minutes later, they finally waited for an elevator that wasn't so crowded, joined by three wizards holding documents.
"Kai, really glad to see you." One of them said, "But you came at a bit of a bad time; there are too many things going on in the department lately, and I haven't slept in two days."
He even pointed to the dark circles under his eyes as he spoke.
"There's nothing to be done, I'd like to slack off too, but the new minister doesn't agree." Kai shrugged.
"That's true."
The elevator soon reached the sixth floor, and the three wizards walked out together.
"We'll talk next time, Kai."
"Who is he?" Hermione asked as the door closed again.
"Watson, from the Broomstick Management Control Bureau, we've discussed how to modify the Firebolt together." Kai casually replied.
"You really know a lot of people."
"It's pretty normal." Kai said, "Being Minister's assistant is basically a job of interacting with other departments. After enough interactions, you naturally become familiar."
"Where are we going?"
"Third floor," Kai said.
"To find Mr. Weasley?"
"No, Mr. Weasley's office is on the second floor, we need to go to another department." Kai thought for a moment, "How's your Confundus Charm?"
"Still okay, I guess," Hermione said. "The Confundus Charm is a seventh-year topic, I've reviewed it in advance."
"Then it won't be a problem, though I think with you, it's unlikely we'll need that charm."
