"D.D. Crow, banish my Divine Flame Emperor!"
Clero's Monster Card was promptly placed into the graveyard, and a small crow flew out as if breaking through a space barrier. Soon, the crow reappeared, holding the card of Divine Flame Emperor Uriah in its beak, flying off to another dimension, disappearing without a trace.
"How outrageous, to have snatched away my Divine Flame Emperor."
Yugen feigned a sigh.
Clero said, "Jack had a hard time defeating that Divine Flame Emperor, how could we let you revive it so easily! Don't underestimate the power of our teamwork!"
Yusei also said, "Indeed! Godwin, maybe you are truly strong, perhaps even stronger than each of us. But we have bonds!
Supporting and helping each other, we can surpass our limits!"
Yugen: "..."
Hmm, sure enough, they came charging forward again shouting about friendship and bonds.
Yugen coughed: "Alright, then I'll just have to use this guy...
Normal Summon 'Chaos Illusion.'"
What was summoned seemed more like a puddle of sludge rather than a Monster, floating on the field in front of him, lacking any tangible form.
[Chaos Illusion, Attack Power 0]
Clero: "Another Monster with 0 Attack Power?"
Yusei warned: "Don't underestimate it!"
Godwin, this guy's duels, are filled with oddities.
Yugen said: "The effect of Chaos Illusion, once per turn, it can select any Effect Monster in my graveyard, until the end of the turn, this card becomes a card of the same name, gaining its original Attack Power and effect!" (Original Card Effect)
The physical card effect is basically the same, except it's modified to require the selected Monster in the graveyard to be banished, making the cost significantly higher than the original version.
The three on the opposite side turned pale again upon hearing this.
"It can transform into a Monster in the graveyard?" Jack said, "In that case, his graveyard would have..."
Yugen said: "I'll use Chaos Illusion to copy 'Thunder Emperor Harmon' in the graveyard, acquiring Harmon's name, original Attack Power, and Monster Effect!"
Yugen snapped his fingers.
The pitch-black mud suddenly bubbled with a sulfuric stench, Chaos Illusion's gelatinous body twitching like spasms amidst the lightning storm. Tens of golden lightning bolts pierced into the core of the Illusion, thick dark matter being shaped as if by an invisible carving knife. First, the skeletal chest armor, then the demonic wings pierced through the filthy surface, as the sludge violently churned with the holy thunder, every bolt of lightning tearing out the demon's true form.
Thunder Emperor Harmon!
[Chaos Illusion (Thunder Emperor Harmon), Attack Power 4000]
"This is the second Phantom Demon..." Clero gritted his teeth, "What the heck, even an Illusion has this kind of pressure..."
Yugen smiled: "The effect of the Field Spell 'Lost Paradise.' Because I now have Chaos Illusion, treated as 'Thunder Emperor Harmon,' on the field, my field considers having a Phantom Demon.
The effect of Lost Paradise allows me to draw two cards from the card deck once per turn if a Phantom Demon is present."
Yugen drew two cards.
"Battle!" Yugen declared, "Thunder Emperor Harmon, attack 'Red Lotus Demon Dragon'!"
The demon's boney wings shattered the dark mud involved in the Illusion, with the spine-extended bone wings vibrating with thunder as if tearing space apart. The celestial thunder descended mercilessly from beyond the Nine Heavens, crashing down upon the Red Lotus Demon Dragon.
Jack shouted: "Activate Trap..."
Yugen: "Trap Cards are ineffective on Phantom Demons, as they are immune to any Trap effects."
The crowd recoiled upon hearing this. It's unbelievable, just like the Earth-Bound Gods, not affected by Traps, and possessing such powerful abilities...
Jack scoffed: "My Trap wasn't intended to affect the Phantom Demon anyway.
The Trap I'm activating is the Trap Card 'Red Lotus Crystal'! It prevents Monsters with 'Red Lotus' in their name from being destroyed by battle or card effects until the end of the turn!" (Original Card)
Flames transformed into crystals encasing the Red Lotus Demon Dragon, and the Thunder Emperor's bombardment fell onto the crystal, the lightning all being deflected without causing any impact.
"A specialized Trap for the Red Lotus Demon Dragon, interesting." Yugen said, "But the battle damage still needs to be calculated... Normally, that's what I should say. Well, unfortunately."
He shrugged helplessly.
"The Monster copied by Chaos Illusion is ultimately just an Illusion, even if it can destroy opponent Monsters by battle, it deals 0 battle damage to the opponent."
The three opposing each let out a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, it's not too ridiculous. Being able to casually transform into a Phantom Demon from the graveyard, it would be too powerful if it could also deal damage.
Yugen: "Set one card, turn ends."
He paused, adding.
"The effect of Chaos Illusion dissipates at the end phase of the turn, and its Attack Power reverts to normal."
The majestic golden demon Illusion vanished, Thunder Emperor Harmon gradually fading into a shadow. The mass of black, glue-like sludge settled back onto the ground, becoming a puddle again.
[Chaos Illusion, Attack Power 4000→Attack Power 0]
Successfully fending off the Phantom Demon's attack, the morale of Team 5DS soared.
"Great, with Chaos Illusion's Attack Power being 0 left on the field, it's an opportunity!" Clero looked at Yusei, "It's an opportunity!"
"Ah, I understand!"
Finally, it was Yusei's turn, his spirits soaring just as high.
"My turn, draw!"
His eyes quickly scanned the drawn card, then he announced loudly.
"I would never let the hopes entrusted by my companions be wasted purposefully!
I activate the Magic Card 'Tuning'!"
A projection of the Magic Card appeared in front of Yusei.
"Tuning allows me to add one Tuner Monster with 'Synchroist' in its name from the deck to my hand." Yusei stated, "I add 'Speed Attack Synchroist' from the deck to my hand."
Yusei drew the Synchroist card that popped out from his card deck and displayed it.
"Afterward, I must send cards from the top of the card deck to the graveyard, equal to the star level of the searched Synchroist!" (Original Effect)
Yugen murmured: "Animation tuning, truly hardcore."
The physical card was modified to send only one card from the top of the deck to the graveyard, regardless of the star level of the searched Monster.
Everyone knows that sending cards from the top of the deck to the graveyard is a form of milling, and there's a significant difference in strength between milling five cards versus milling one card.
"The Level of Speed Attack Synchroist is five, so I send five cards from the top of my deck to the graveyard!"
Yusei sent five cards swiftly to the graveyard.
"Then the effect of 'Speed Attack Synchroist,' this card can be Special Summoned by discarding one Monster Card from the hand.
I discard one card from my hand, Special Summoning 'Speed Attack Synchroist'!"
[Speed Attack Synchroist, Attack Power 700]
"Then the Monster I just sent to the graveyard is 'Level-Stealing Insect!' The effect of this card also activates!
If this card is in the graveyard, I can reduce the star level of a Five-Star Monster on my field by one star and Special Summon itself from the graveyard!"
Yugen raised an eyebrow again.
No surprise there, Yusei casually plays another Forbidden Card while chatting.
