Chapter 1140 - Chapter 1113: Are You Going to Blow It Up or Not?

"Attack Powerlessness... tch."

Poma grimaced.

A powerful Counterattack Trap that forcibly ends the Battle Phase, making it nearly impossible to counter.

Damn it, the enemy is right there, taunting me so close, yet I just can't hit him...

"Next, I'll activate the Cover Card," said Yugen, "the Trap Card 'Sacrificial Treasure Scroll.'

When the combined Attack Power of my monsters is lower than the lowest Attack Power of the opponent's monsters, I can draw two cards from my Card Deck." (Original effect)

Yugen drew two cards.

"However, until the end of this turn, I cannot summon monsters in any form."

Poma coolly replied, "Then using the Continuous Trap 'Free Ride,' I'll also draw two cards from my Card Deck."

After glancing at the cards he drew, Poma covered them once more with a wave of his hand.

"Cover two cards, the turn is over."

Although Poma felt frustrated, unable to strike despite trying several times, he didn't see anything wrong with the opponent's behavior of covering three cards in the back row.

5DS, compared to other Yu-Gi-Oh! series, is relatively more inclined towards the Underworld environment. The main reason is due to the Riding Duel rules, which significantly limit the usage of Magic Cards, and Monster Effects were not yet as versatile as in modern Yu-Gi-Oh!, making Trap Cards the centerpiece of Duelist tactics.

Thus, Trap Cards are used more frequently in 5DS than in any other Yu-Gi-Oh! series, with many original traps appearing. Most tactical intentions and strategies of Duelists rely heavily on Traps. Even someone like Jack, who emphasizes extreme power and direct confrontation, often uses three cards in the back row.

Of course, Traps aren't all pitfalls; many assist in accelerating strategies, aiding in battles between big monsters. But they are called 'Traps' because by nature they can interfere or block actions outside turns, so the more Red Pits, the higher the Underworld's purity.

Yugen contemplated that this dimension's environment might not be as much in the Mortal World as GX, and Duelists might have higher psychological resistance to Underworld tactics.

Well, even if it's higher, there's always a limit.

Yugen's lips curled upward.

Challenges are what make things interesting.

As the duel progressed, another D-Wheel stopped outside the arena, and someone entered from outside.

"Jack?"

Jack turned his head at the sound: "Yusei?"

The newcomer was Yusei Fudo.

Both saw the glowing Dragon Seals on each other's arms and furrowed their brows slightly.

"What's happening?" Yusei asked from the sidelines of the track.

Jack replied casually, "Godwin is dueling with a stranger."

"Officer Godwin?" Yusei was surprised.

In the original series, Yusei had no fond feelings for Godwin and even held some hostility. But now, he had a decent impression of Godwin, so he respectfully added "Officer" to his name.

Yusei pressed on his arm with the aching Dragon Seal: "Godwin told me the purpose of the Dragon Sealers being chosen is to combat the awakened evil. Could this be...?"

Though his tone was uncertain, he was mostly convinced, as the Dragon Seal was already telling him that the opponent on Godwin's side of the giant D-Wheel was the destined enemy of the Dragon Sealers.

"My turn, draw." Yugen announced.

"During this turn's preparation phase, once again activate the effect of 'Assassin Snake' from the Graveyard.

Assassin Snake can return from the Graveyard to the hand during the preparation phase when it exists in the Graveyard."

The green spectral image of the killing snake appeared above the D-Wheel, quickly being reclaimed by Yugen.

Poma snorted heavily, evidently reminded of bad memories by Assassin Snake. But now, with the Abyss Soldiers cleared away, recovering Assassin Snake as ammunition was of little significance.

Can you really counter my Bomber with that?

Yugen: "Previously, using the effect of the High-speed Spell 'Angel Divine Staff,' discard to the Graveyard, activating 'Electronic Fishman Gunner.'

When this card exists in the Graveyard and there is a Water Attribute Monster with 3-star or lower on your field, you can discard a card and Special Summon Fishman Gunner from the Graveyard."

Yugen discarded a card.

"Special Summon 'Electronic Fishman Gunner' from the Graveyard!"

A vortex appeared in the Graveyard as the Fishman Mecha emerged, small water guns spritzed water, and the Fishman pilot spun around in the fish tank-like cockpit.

[Electronic Fishman Gunner, Attack Power: 100]

"Of course, when I summon monsters to my field, you can activate the effect of 'Giant Bomber - Grand Aerial Assault Style' to immediately destroy my summoned monsters and deal 800 damage to me."

Yugen smiled.

"So, now, will you destroy it? It's your decision."

This statement surprised both Jack and Yusei watching from the sidelines.

The ability to immediately destroy summoned monsters... what a domineering power!

Jack further knew that the Bomber, with such formidable ability, could use the effect of 'Dark Carrier' to revive each turn, and during its owner's turn, actively destroy opponent's cards, truly terrifying.

Both of them regarded the strength of the opponent facing "Officer Godwin" even higher.

Poma grumbled irritably, "I'm not activating the effect of 'Giant Bomber - Grand Aerial Assault Style.'

Are you kidding? Do you think I'm stupid?

Grand Aerial Assault Style can destroy the opponent's summoned monsters, but it can only be used once per turn. Why waste it on this 100 Attack Power trash?

Moreover, although Fishman Gunner is an Adjusted Monster, staying on the field risks Synchro Summoning High-Star Monsters, but from the previous effect description, its resurrection ability isn't limited to once per turn.

This means even if using Grand Aerial Assault Style to blow up this Fishman, the opponent could just spend an extra hand card to revive it again. Wasting such a powerful resistance just to trade an opponent's random hand card isn't worth it.

"You're not interrupting, so I'll continue then."

Yugen spoke in a relaxed tone.

"Then activate the effect of 'Water Spirit Akuaelia' from my hand.

This card cannot be Normal Summoned, but can be Special Summoned by banishing any Water Attribute Monsters from the Graveyard.

I banish the Water Attribute 'Abyss Soldiers' from the Graveyard to Special Summon 'Water Spirit Akuaelia'!"

Another vortex emerged on the field, water swirling, splashing waves. A blue female spirit stood amidst the waves, her eyes shining with wise light.

[Water Spirit Akuaelia, Attack Power: 1600]

"Yet another new Monster summoned. Now then..."

Yugen squinted his eyes with a smile, asking.

"To explode or not?"
