"My turn, draw a card!"
It's once again the Cursed Vampire's turn.
He is currently one of the strongest among the remaining Blood Race. The Vampires could contend with the stationed Overlord Army in this area for so many days without showing signs of defeat, even managing to counterattack and kill many a Grand General in the process, a feat in which this vampire played an indispensable role.
This was the first time he encountered the opponent using a tactic that directly snatched the original from his Card Deck. Honestly, even he was astonished. But luckily, he responded appropriately, successfully neutralizing the attack and gaining the upper hand on the field.
Now the advantage is mine!
So what needs to be done now is to expand the advantage and win the duel as quickly as possible.
"Activate the Field Spell 'Vampire Empire'!"
The vampire raised the card in his hand high.
The magic power activated, and the ancient, dangerous dark castle rose from the ground with a tremor, as if bringing endless darkness and terror.
The blood-red moon hung high in the sky, unlike the usual gentle and bright moonlight, instead a sinister and deep red, as if soaked in fresh blood.
A dense, eerie fog rose, enveloping the entire castle tightly, carrying a bone-chilling cold and an indescribable air. The castle's outline blurred and twisted beneath the fog, appearing and disappearing intermittently, like the legendary Demon City.
"Vampire Empire increases the Attack Power of Undead Monsters on your field by 500 points during battle damage calculation only."
The Cursed Vampire followed by raising a card from his hand.
"Next, please lend me your power...
Sacrifice the 'Vampire Bat Swarm' on the field for an Upper-level Summon! Level five—
—Vampire Lord, summon!"
The swarm of Vampire Bats circled twice before disappearing from the field, and a burst of laughter came out of the released black fog. The elegant Vampire Lord flung his noble cloak and landed lightly on the ground.
[Vampire Lord, Attack Power 2000]
"Oh, oh, another seemingly powerful vampire." Judai was already chatting with the surrounding Blood Race, "Your leader is quite something, huh?"
"Naturally,"
Initially, those of the Blood Race thought the youth odd, but now they were chatting warmly.
"The Lord is one of the few Grand Generals among our Blood Race, naturally not someone you Overlord lackeys can contend with."
"I told you we're not Overlord's... well, whatever." Judai laughed, "But don't worry, he can't beat Yugen."
"Tch, blow all you want."
"..."
The Cursed Vampire already roared and began the attack.
"I use myself, the Cursed Vampire, direct attack!"
The vampire leaped up with a cold face, opened a single wing, and flew toward Yugen.
As Judai said, although Yugen's front field was empty, he showed no trace of panic, casually waving his hand: "Then activate Cover Card, Continuous Trap 'Amazon's Rush'.
Once per turn, during the Battle Phase, you can Special Summon an 'Amazon' monster from your hand."
"Special Summoning monsters during battle... Hoo, used as a defensive wall?" The Cursed Vampire snorted softly, "But in front of my Power of Curse..."
"A wall? Not at all."
Yugen smiled and snapped his fingers.
"What I want to summon from my hand is this—
—Amazon Swordsman, Special Summon."
The muscular swordsman with red hair flying high, her usual swing reflecting the bitter red moon above the Imperial Castle.
"The Attack Power of the monster Special Summoned by this effect increases by 500 only during this turn."
[Amazon Swordsman, Attack Power 1500 → Attack Power 2000]
"Amazon Swordsman?"
The Cursed Vampire was puzzled. Apparently, he had never seen the Amazons, this battle tribe, nor had he seen this female warrior in his dimension.
"What, are you giving up the attack?" Yugen smiled.
In that instant, the vampire hesitated for a moment, but only for a moment before making up his mind.
"Give up?"
The vampire chuckled lightly as if hearing something amusing.
Attack Power 2000, obviously not matching his own Attack Power yet still summoned in attack position, easily leading one to suspect there was a trick... Of course, it could not be ruled out that the opponent was bluffing to prevent an attack.
But whether or not the opponent had any means, it would not make sense to give up the attack under such favorable conditions and risk missing this opportunity due to cowardice.
Even if there were pitfalls, he, the Cursed Vampire, possessed the immortal ability of infinite regeneration. And the swordsman that jumped out before him was already the final barrier. As long as this obstacle was overcome, the direct attack by the Vampire Lord would ensure his victory.
No matter what, there's no reason to back down at this crucial moment.
"If you think you can scare me with such a level, you are greatly underestimating me." The Cursed Vampire stepped forward, shouting aloud, "Cursed Vampire, continue the attack!
And the effect of the Field Spell 'Vampire Empire' raises the vampire's Attack Power by 500 during battle damage calculation!"
[Cursed Vampire, Attack Power 2500 → Attack Power 3000]
The target was switched to the newly appeared Amazon Swordsman on Yugen's field. The swordsman faced the vampire's assault fearlessly, taking a step forward with her longsword thrusting out.
But the vampire's speed was unquestionably quicker than hers. The Cursed Vampire snorted contemptuously, slightly dodging his upper body to evade the sword's edge. Then he lightly flicked his right finger at the sword's body. A crisp clang was heard, and the longsword instantly shattered into several pieces.
However, what he hadn't anticipated was that one of the broken sword pieces spun several times in mid-air, then suddenly accelerated, shooting in an odd arc and piercing the vampire's body behind him.
[Cursed Vampire, LP 3500 → LP 2500]
"Ugh!"
The cold sword caught the vampire off guard, leaving him with a chilling wound and a simultaneous shock: "What is this!?"
"The battle damage dealt by Amazon Swordsman is taken by the opposing player." Yugen smiled and explained.
The Cursed Vampire was suddenly alarmed.
Such a self-contained effect?
"It's not over yet." Yugen said, "The opponents who have fought with the Amazons must all leave the field."
"What?" the Cursed Vampire said coldly, "What are you talking about? I'm immortal... Nani!?"
Suddenly, he widened his eyes, watching in astonishment as his body on the field began to fade and become transparent until it was completely invisible, disappearing as if evaporating into thin air from his field.
"Bakana (Impossible)!"
The vampire's emotions began to verge on losing control.
"I am immortal! No matter how many times, I will become stronger by using blood as a price..."
"That limitation only applies to scenarios where you're destroyed and sent to the graveyard."}
Yugen smiled slightly, pointing at the Trap in his back field.
"But the effect of Continuous Trap 'Amazon's Rush'. The monsters that have battled Amazons are directly excluded from the game."
Cursed Vampire: "!"
