Chapter 192 - Chapter 25: Awakening

"So that's how it is…"

Mei looked at the motionless "Lin" and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. It seemed her guess was correct: the reason Lin gave her this Ego and had never given one to anyone else was here.

Since the combat method was chosen based on the enemy target, Lin himself was undoubtedly not included in "Lin's" targeting judgment. His previous appearance to stop "Lin" was the proof.

She couldn't help but chuckle as she looked at the no-longer-moving "Lin." This time, he was a truly stationary sculpture…

Did she win now?

Mei tentatively asked, "'Lin'?"

"Lin" was still, the viewport on its helmet, which served as its window to the outside world, quietly glowing.

Mei decided to ask the question she cared about most directly: "What is that space in the Elysian Realm where one can see Lin's past?"

"…That is 'Confused Memory' separated from the 'body'." "Lin" spoke the information slowly and clearly articulated.

"Confused Memory…" Mei chewed on the phrase. Did this mean all the memories there were separated by Lin?

Mei had suspected this from the beginning, as there was another person in the Elysian Realm who could separate memories: Hua. The strange memory space was very similar to Hua's ability to separate memories using the Glimpse of the Past.

However, Lin did not seem to be troubled by memories like Hua; at least he didn't appear to need regular memory cleansing.

Thinking of this, Mei asked "Lin" again, "What is the reason Lin separates memories?"

Half a second after the question was asked, "Lin" explained in detail, "Separating memories that interfere with normal thinking allows for the normal combination of existing memories, achieving the prerequisite for the 'Ash Plan'."

The "Ash Plan"?

Mei was startled, and immediately thought of Kevin's "Stigmata Project."

"What is the Ash Plan…"

"Zi…"

This time, before she could finish her question, "Lin's" form flickered and vanished without a trace. Mei looked back alertly, but the vast, boundless space contained no other objects.

Mei pondered for a moment and realized she had probably triggered a keyword. If the Ash Plan was a "secret" known to all of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers in the Elysian Realm, then everyone except an outsider should know what the plan was, or more extremely, only Lin knew what the Ash Plan was, but he couldn't let others know, so he set up this program on "Lin."

Sighing, she felt a great pity. There was so much more Mei wanted to ask, but it seemed she had been too hasty.

Then, the Anchor Point behind her reopened. Mei walked toward it, and after experiencing that unusual feeling once more, she opened her eyes.

"This is…"

The scene before her was not the one she entered from, but another place Mei had seen and was wary of.

Mobius's laboratory.

"Hehehe… little guinea pig, you finally came out. Next, it's our game."

Greedy snake eyes, spying from the shadows.

Lin stood before a row of shelves filled with file folders. He casually pulled one out, glanced at the number on it, and put it back.

"Stigmata Project initial draft…"

A hand reached out from behind him, grabbed the corner of the file he had just put back, and pulled it out under his gaze.

Elysia naughtily stuck out her tongue at Lin, who had turned his head, "Oh, Lin, don't be so stingy. You used to tell me everything when we shared information."

"…Remember to put it back after you're done." Lin didn't say much, just a reminder, and continued searching through the massive volume of files for what he needed.

"Is this what you had Pardofelis collecting?" Elysia looked curiously at the busy Lin. Even he would take a considerable amount of time dealing with such a huge amount of information.

"No, this was an intelligence gathering room from the start. Most of the information can be found here," Lin replied while taking out a file folder. "What I asked Pardofelis to collect was scattered information. Those 'secrets' won't be as easily found as these; they are quite private parts."

Pardofelis was a master at finding things. She could go to most places in the Elysian Realm, find hidden shortcuts, and even send the unaffected Canned Cat Food to search for what he needed in that place he didn't want to enter.

Knowing that Elysia would next ask what he was looking for, Lin spoke calmly in advance, "I'm looking for what happened in Fire MOTH while I was in Twilight Street."

"Why don't you ask me?"

"…You also left Fire MOTH at that time."

"Then why don't you ask Kevin?"

"…" Lin felt that continuing the conversation would get him tied up in knots. He pulled out a volume titled "Research Report on the First Herrscher," skimmed a few pages, and then replied, "Kevin didn't tell me the whole story."

Lin believed Kevin wouldn't lie to him, but Kevin had indeed not told Lin everything that happened back then.

Kevin had his own considerations. After an event that affected the subsequent direction of Fire MOTH, and even the entire Previous Era, if their positions were reversed, he wouldn't have told Kevin everything either.

But now, there was no need for such caution. The Elysian Realm was the place where the memories of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers were stored. He was bound to find an archived document detailing that event somewhere.

Hua also didn't know the full picture of the event. In fact, only the parties involved in that matter were truly clear about the details. As for just the result, Lin had witnessed the outcome firsthand.

Elysia smiled mysteriously, and Lin, seeing it, said nothing.

"Found it."

After another search, Lin found the file titled "The Purge Incident" among the numerous file folders. He opened it, skimmed to the last page, nodded at the result, and turned to Elysia, saying, "Do you want to hear me read it?"

"Sure."

Elysia came over, sat down on the steps, stretched languidly, and nodded to Lin.

Pardofelis returned to the residence quietly and quickly. She saw the goose-yellow light emanating from the window from afar, which greatly reassured her.

Unconsciously, just seeing this place made her let down a significant amount of her guard.

The nursing home had been scouted. She might as well take that guy over tomorrow and give it a try. If they couldn't cure his illness, then she would just secretly steal him back.

Even Pardofelis didn't realize that taking care of Lin had become an indispensable part of her life.

After opening the door, a rush of warm air greeted her. Pardofelis reflexively flexed her arms, took a step…

"Ta, Thump!"

A strong, large hand gripped her neck, lifted her up, and the door slammed shut with a Thump!

That pair of scattered eyes were thrust directly in front of her right eye.

New Year's Eve Special: The Nun and Hypnosis (Part 1)

"Hypnosis App?"

Lin, who was leaving school exactly as the dismissal bell rang, was about to message Su from the adjacent school to see if the three of them—himself, Su, and Kevin—could go to the arcade today. A glance at the corner of his eye caught an unfamiliar icon on his desktop.

A pink app shaped like an eye, it looked exactly like the kind of software a boy might open late at night.

Did I install this app?

Lin stood still amidst the stream of students, musing for a moment. He couldn't recall when he had installed the thing, so he decided to treat it as junk software downloaded by accident and prepared to uninstall it immediately.

Software like this definitely has a virus.

"Lin!" Just as he was long-pressing the icon to uninstall it, a powerful slap landed on his back, making him spray a mouthful of saliva and almost tumble down the stairs.

"What are you standing here for? Hurry up and go play games."

The outspoken, white-haired youth put a friendly arm around Lin's neck and unabashedly peeked at his phone screen.

"Kevin, only you among the three of us have a girlfriend." Lin took a deep breath, fighting the urge to throw the guy off the stairs. "And you never accompany your girlfriend unless absolutely necessary. Are you two advocating for a Platonic relationship?"

"Uh, Mei's academic symposiums—I don't understand them either. Every time I go with her, I just have to stand outside, so she told me I shouldn't bother coming along. She suggested we save time and do our own things separately, and then go on a date when we're both free…"

"…You two are truly an exceptionally bizarre couple."

Kevin was nonchalant about it, pointing at Lin's phone. "Heh heh, enough about that. What is this? A Hypnosis App? Haha, have you been watching too much [Sensors-]?"

"Hmph, do I need that with my looks?" Lin scoffed, giving Kevin a disdainful look. "If I wanted a girlfriend, wouldn't it be easy to acquire one?"

Kevin, however, paid no attention to this. Taking advantage of Lin's distraction, he quickly pressed the screen. "Hey, I'm clicking it."

"Hey! What if it has a virus!"

The app on the desktop opened. Lin quickly refocused his attention on the phone screen, but as he did, the opened software automatically closed. Lin didn't see any of the content inside.

"Whew… Thank goodness. Maybe the system is incompatible." Lin let out a sigh of relief, then scolded Kevin, "If my phone breaks, you better kneel and apologize to me."

"…"

"Hmm? Why aren't you talking?"

A quiet Kevin was never a good Kevin. Lin knew this well and immediately sensed Kevin was off. He turned around in confusion and saw a pair of swirly eyes.

Kevin stood blankly on the stairs, his hands hanging down by his sides. His entire body was rigid, like a soldier under the command of an officer.

"…Spin?"

Kevin spun around once.

"Go on a date with your girlfriend. When you see your girlfriend, the hypnosis will be lifted, and you'll forget this memory, but you will still execute this command."

"Yes." Kevin answered stiffly, turned around, and began walking up the stairs.

"OK, I get it."

Lin's lips curled up, and many dark thoughts immediately filled his mind. He called Su and canceled today's activities.

"Now, it's time to choose the first prey."

Lin's mouth widened into a chilling and wicked smile.

On the train ride home, Lin stood in the bustling, crowded compartment, looking around, searching for a satisfactory "prey."

His eyesight was quite keen. By utilizing the reflections in the doors, handles, and signs, he could clearly see the appearance of everyone around him within a few seconds, so he quickly locked onto a target.

A sweet-looking girl seemed to be chatting with a friend on her phone, completely unaware that Lin was quietly moving towards her from the side.

In a short while, he was within arm's reach, a distance convenient for Lin to act.

But Lin didn't act immediately; he needed a moment. Soon, the train would enter a station. As the train's speed sharply decreased, inertia would cause people on the train to lose their balance. That moment was the perfect opportunity to act.

Lin silently counted the time, watching the approaching station platform. Then, as the countdown reached zero and the train's automated voice broadcast the first word, he decisively grabbed the handle above his head and opened the Hypnosis App with the other hand.

And gave it to the perverted uncle behind the girl's face.

The uncle didn't even have time to utter a sound before he was hypnotized by Lin. The 'pork trotter' reaching for the girl's butt was lowered. He stood rooted to the spot with a pair of swirly eyes that didn't match his demeanor. He didn't break free from the hypnosis even when the train entered the station and Lin led him off.

Lin watched the clueless girl walk away with her schoolbag, then chuckled maliciously at the train pervert behind him.

This App is truly fascinating!

He led the sleazy uncle to an isolated corner, stomped the uncle's head onto the ground, and asked arrogantly, fiddling with his fingers, "How many times have you molested girls on the train?"

"Eleven times." The hypnotized uncle, despite being underfoot, showed no expression and answered honestly.

"Starting today, you must do one hundred and ten good deeds every month, and henceforth turn over a new leaf and become a good person."

"Yes."

"Very good. You will be released from the hypnosis and forget this memory once you walk out of the station, but you will still execute the command. Now get lost."

"Yes."

Years later, Changkong City News reported on a middle-aged uncle who had successfully dedicated himself to good deeds. It was said that he was sincere and enthusiastic, consistently working out and starting a business to help others. He persevered in his career even in middle age, eventually succeeding in starting a foundation to aid impoverished children. He was wealthy, upright, and honest.

"I am willing to dedicate my life to helping others. Perhaps this is the meaning of my existence." He stood in front of the camera in a suit, giving a thumbs-up.

"Hahahaha… This is amazing!"

Lin caressed his phone screen with adoration, his finger hovering over the Hypnosis App. The excitement in his eyes did not diminish.

He, Lin, had a dream: to make all the phenomena he couldn't stand in this city disappear!

Before this, what good was it if he stopped that pervert? Even if he caught the man red-handed, it wouldn't stop the pervert from committing the crime again. What good was it to see school bullies? Even if he beat them all up, he would only get the same punishment as them and constantly have to deal with those stupid pigs.

And now, with this Hypnosis App, he could finally achieve his dream!

"But hypnotizing them one by one is too inefficient. I need to figure out a way… Hmm?" As Lin pondered how to maximize the use of the software, he saw a group of people walking past in the corner of his vision.

He narrowed his eyes, looking at the gang of hooligans dressed in an… "ostentatious" manner. Their multi-colored hair and 'playing card' hairstyles instantly reminded him that they were one of his target groups for cleansing.

He watched as these guys were following a… nun in the distance?

That was definitely a nun, wasn't it?

Lin didn't expect to see a nun in a place like this and didn't think too much about it. After all, he had more important things to do right now. He smiled maliciously, following behind the hooligans who had no idea what they were about to face.

New Year's Eve Special: The Nun and Hypnosis (Part 2)

"Go and confess at the police station."

Lin pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped the blood off the hooligan's face, then cleaned his own hand. He snorted disdainfully at the group of thugs lying motionless on the ground.

It didn't take much effort for him to subdue these guys, but questioning them took a bit of time. If not for the Hypnosis App, he truly wouldn't have known that a seemingly decent person—well, a human-looking dog—could commit so many beastly acts.

After the synchronized footsteps faded into the distance, Lin breathed a sigh of relief, feeling much better. He would definitely get a good night's sleep tonight.

"What did you… do to them…"

At that moment, an ethereal voice Lin hadn't anticipated rang out from the direction the hooligans had left. Lin, who was about to enjoy a satisfying stretch, immediately froze.

The nun he had seen earlier stood at the intersection. A long strand of hair escaped from her habit, falling across her cheek, looking seductive under the night lights.

"Huh? A nun? Hurry back, hurry back." Lin instantly lost interest when he saw it wasn't a straggler, waving his hand dismissively. "Don't walk alone at night, unless you're an airhead with big breasts and small brains who wants to experience the so-called wickedness of the human heart."

Seeing that Lin hadn't listened to her at all, the nun frowned and emphasized, "I asked you… what did you… do to them?"

"It was a Stand attack; you can't see it." Lin shrugged brazenly and smirked. After all, even if he told the truth, no one would believe it. No one had his level of acceptance.

"But… I saw… you flashed your… phone screen at them… and they… lost consciousness." The nun thought for a moment and added, "And… you didn't make any strange poses… you are not a Stand User…"

…Crap.

Lin hadn't expected her to observe so closely. Could it be that the commotion he made while disciplining those guys was too loud?

And she had actually read that manga…

"Alright, fine, I'm actually a police officer…"

"Your school ID… fell out…"

"…"

…He brought her back.

He brought the nun home.

He brought this superb, busty nun named Aponia, who looked a few years older than him, back to his solo apartment.

"Let me be clear upfront: I brought you back simply because you said you had nowhere to go." Lin stood with his arms crossed, impatiently staring at Aponia, who was sitting properly on a chair after entering the room. He added, "In exchange, you will treat today's events as if they never happened and not pursue what I did earlier. Can you agree to that?"

Lin felt either the nun had a problem with her brain, or he had been infected by Kevin's brain, otherwise he wouldn't have done something this stupid.

"…Thank you for… taking me in…" Miss Aponia covered the cross on her chest and bowed slightly to Lin.

"No, I don't need your thanks. I just need your promise."

"Thank you…"

"…"

It could be preliminarily judged that this nun's skill in feigning ignorance was far beyond Lin's reach.

"Hey, are you asleep?"

In the middle of the night, Lin lay on the sofa with bloodshot eyes and asked Aponia, who was in the bed.

"No… May I ask… why can't you sleep?"

"I've been single for eighteen years, and suddenly one night, a super-beautiful, cold-style nun sister is sleeping in my bed while I sleep on the sofa. Of course, I can't sleep." Lin considered his greatest virtue to be speaking the truth, but perhaps it was because too many people couldn't handle his directness that he only had a few friends so far.

"…I apologize."

"Why are you apologizing?" Lin asked in surprise. "That's my desire, not yours. Why are you apologizing when you did nothing wrong?"

"The Director said… one should first examine the error within oneself…" Aponia's soothing tone calmed Lin's restless heart slightly. She spoke to him as if to counsel him, "So… even when one sees 'evil'… one must first consider… whether the evil of others… was caused by oneself…"

"…What else did the Director you mentioned say? Such as purifying your sins?" Lin looked up at the ceiling, expressionless, and asked.

"He said… I should offer my impure body to the Lord… but I… was not ready… so… I left temporarily…"

The small room fell silent. The scattered starlight outside the window projected onto the nun's confused face. She clasped her hands, closed her eyes, and prayed for something.

Lin contemplated for a moment, then got up decisively and turned on the light. To the nun's puzzled look, he walked up to her and placed his face close to the nun's smooth, delicate, milk-like cheek.

A pair of black eyes blinked, meeting the sapphire-blue pupils.

"You are…"

Lin interrupted her and asked seriously, "Do you think I'm handsome?"

"Huh?"

"Speak from the heart. Do you think I'm handsome? Or you can use a descriptor you prefer to evaluate my appearance, as long as you speak honestly and impartially."

Aponia was caught off guard by Lin's extremely direct question. Under Lin's guidance, she instinctively examined his face carefully.

Then, she said, as if possessed, "Very… beautiful."

Lin smiled and asked again, "Do you want to [Sensors-]me?"

"Wha… Wha… What does that mean?" Aponia's usually slow speech sped up in shock from Lin.

This topic was simply too provocative! Even the Director, who made her feel uneasy, hadn't used such explicit language!

"Don't be afraid, speak your mind." Lin stared intently at Aponia's shifting eyes.

"Don't you think I'm perfect?" Lin recited his virtues like precious family heirlooms, "I can cook, I have excellent grades, I have an upright personality, I treat people sincerely, I have a fantastic physique, I live a clean life, I know multiple martial arts, I never get discouraged, and my appearance is unparalleled. Aside from not being able to work and having slightly less money, I'm like a novel's male protagonist."

But… would a protagonist really praise himself like this? Shouldn't he be more modest?

This person's narcissism has already surpassed most people's imagination, hasn't it?

"Don't you want to violently [Sensors-] me? and [Sensors-] me ten times a day while wearing stockings and a cross?" Lin questioned her seriously.

"Even if you say that…"

But Aponia truly had that fleeting moment where she felt Lin was indeed very… tempting.

His whole being exuded an aura that made one want to commit a crime.

"Follow your heart! See, aren't you a normal person! What era are we in? Stop dwelling on that useless nonsense! That old man is coveting you, don't you understand? He's using your faith to do bad things to you!" Lin smiled, stepping back to his original position after seeing something flash in her eyes, and snapped his fingers.

This nun was somewhat receptive. For those who were too deeply poisoned, he would have no choice but to use hypnosis to correct them.

"You yourself think that what you want to do to me is wrong, so do you think what that old bastard wants to do to you is right?"

Aponia stared blankly at the grinning Lin. After a long while, she nodded dazedly, "He… is wrong."

"Good! Tomorrow, take me to your… what?"

"Nursing home."

"Right, the nursing home. Starting tomorrow, you'll be the boss there."

"What about the Director?"

Lin looked at his phone and chuckled villainously, "He's going to prison to let others purify his sins for him."

New Year's Eve Special: The Nun and Hypnosis (Part 3)

"Why are you willing to help me?"

Aponia, standing in the corner of the room and watching Lin furiously deal with the Director, asked in a low voice amidst the shocking scene.

Lin grabbed the Director's collar and slammed him onto his seemingly exquisite wooden table. With a loud crash, the table and the bones of the old bastard Director broke together. He stood up straight, stretched his neck, ignored the Director's groans, and took out his phone.

"Why? That's a quality question." Lin pinched the Director's neck, opened the software, showed it to the Director, and then stood up, wiping the blood from his hands with a handkerchief. "I don't want to tell you about my trauma history. It's too lengthy and too… affected."

"But I can give you a summary of the 'why'."

After seeing that the Director had entered a hypnotic state, he put down his phone, rubbed his fingers, walked to the window, and opened the blinds. In the soft sunlight, he put on a brilliant smile, "I am an orphan. My parents left a long time ago."

"Of course, I've come to terms with it. Countless things happen in the world every day: murder, marriage, birth, death… I just happened to encounter this unfortunate event. It's okay to be sad, but one must move forward."

Aponia was somewhat surprised by Lin's status as an orphan. His confident, even narcissistic, cheerful personality made him seem nothing like a child who had lost his parents at a young age.

"In short, my mental and emotional state has been somewhat abnormal since I was little, perhaps influenced by my parents' passing."

"When I see certain people, I inevitably have a lot of negative emotions, and I also cannot tolerate standing by as an observer. I want to rebound all those emotions onto those people."

"When I see an atrocity, if I stand by coldly, then I am also an accomplice, aren't I?"

In just a few short sentences, Aponia sensed a tremendous contradiction in this young man. He seemed aware that his actions were not necessarily the best solution, but he also clearly enjoyed the thrill of private justice.

Compared to a devout believer like Aponia, he was a complete opposite.

"And you know…" Lin smiled helplessly, "If people like you choose to remain silent and refuse to resist, then who else but me can save you…"

To be a cold observer unwilling to speak up, or to be a brazen wielder of private justice—the choice required no hesitation. Did this require a "why"? It was simply his nature to be so.

Just as no one can control how fast their fingernails grow, who can suppress their own nature?

"…"

However, what Lin didn't see was that Aponia, while thoughtfully considering his words, was also quietly moving closer behind him.

Lin, who was completely unguarded against Aponia, stretched lazily and smiled as he turned around, "Alright, time to go…"

"Pa."

On the familiar phone screen, a finger like a spring onion gently pressed the Hypnosis App. Then a flash of light passed, and Lin's eyes, which hadn't had time to react, instantly lost their luster.

His hands dropped to his sides.

After hypnotizing Lin, Aponia walked up to the half-dead Director and said in a calm tone, "Please go and confess."

"Yes."

The Director ignored his injuries, stood up, and headed outside. It wouldn't be long before he appeared at the police station, then would be sent to the hospital for treatment due to his severe injuries before confessing. But by then, it would no longer concern her or Lin.

Aponia watched the limping Director push open the door and leave. She looked at the phone with the Hypnosis App in her hand, then looked at the vacant-eyed Lin, and slowly walked up to him.

A… delicate distance, a distance where one step forward could lead to a kiss.

"Lin… from now on… when you hear me start a sentence with the word 'Please'… you will agree to my request without hesitation…"

"…Yes."

Follow your own heart, huh? Lin, you were very right…

After the collapse of her faith, she unexpectedly felt a sense of ease. She might finally understand the source of Lin's confidence.

Because even without a devout faith, Aponia was willing to continue living as a nun, helping others. This did not stem from any person or a vague Lord; it was simply because she wanted to do it.

But even Lin wouldn't hide his desires, would he…

The nun covered the cross on her chest and asked the young man, who would now strictly obey her commands, "Lin… Please tell me, last night…"

She licked her pink lips.

"Lin, let me tell you something weird. The day before yesterday, I suddenly dragged Mei away from her academic conference to go on a date for some reason. Even though Mei didn't get angry afterward, I still feel very strange. Did something dirty possess me?"

Kevin sat on a bench on campus, his expression unusually grim, as if facing a formidable enemy.

"Hmm… I've been feeling strange lately too."

Lin held a thermos cup filled with wolfberry and red date tea, looking confusedly at his reflection in the tea.

Was his face always this pale?

"I don't know when I bought a thermos cup, and this morning, it was filled with tea. I realized after careful thought that I made it myself." He shook his slightly sluggish head. "But I don't understand why I would do that."

Furthermore, his memories of the previous night and the night before were somewhat blurry. He could recall what he had done, but the specific details seemed to have a filter over them. Trying to force a recollection gave him a headache.

Hearing that even Lin had encountered something strange, Kevin was quite frightened. "That's a bit scary. I think I need to go for an exorcism."

"Exorcism? Uh… I know a place we could go. It's a nursing home, and there's a nun there. It's quite close."

"You even know about that?"

"…" Lin paused. How did he know about that? Oh, right, he was friends with that nun…

"I'll send her a message to see if she's free."

Lin took out his phone to message Aponia. Kevin, who was observant, noticed Lin's phone wasn't the one he usually used. "Lin, did you get a new phone?"

"Yeah, this was… given to me by that nun. I think it was a bonus after ten 'purifications'." There it goes again. A vague memory fragment popped up in his mind, constantly patching itself up as if to fill a bug, but Lin only found it slightly odd and didn't perceive the anomaly.

Kevin was confused when he heard this. "Is there an event like that?"

"Lin… welcome, you and your friend…"

The nun stood at the door early to welcome the two. This somewhat overwhelmed Kevin. Was Lin really on such good terms with a nun?

"Aponia." Lin smiled peacefully at her, as if they were old friends. He rubbed his aching head. "We came to seek purification… We feel like things have been a little off lately…"

The light was blocked by the branches in the courtyard. The dappled spots of light mostly fell at the nun's feet, with only a few silently landing on her face, which was hidden in the shadows.

The slit in the nun's habit fluttered gently in the breeze. The nun, pure in appearance, raised her head and said to Lin with a detached expression, "Very well… then Lin… Please come inside with me… your situation is quite special… it may take a long time…"

"What about me?" Kevin asked blankly, his initial jesting attitude replaced by worry upon hearing that Lin's situation was not optimistic.

"You have no problems… Please do not disturb me…" The calm nun paused, then slowly continued, "Do not disturb Lin."

"I have a bad feeling about this…" Kevin narrowed his eyes, observing the nun's back as she led Lin into the room. He rubbed his chin, then concluded, "It must be my imagination."

"Lin always meets strange people. Forget it, I'll go find Su."

Lin looked at the office-like room before him. He seemed to have an impression of it but couldn't for the life of him remember when he had been there.

"Aponia… does the purification need to be done in a place like this?"

"Yes… the last time was also here…" The nun stood in front of a wardrobe, searching for something, her peripheral vision constantly fixed on Lin. "Please wait for me… to change into… my 'purification' clothes…"

"You mentioned… 'ten times' of purification…"

"Oh dear, I'm finally done. I wonder if Lin has received the software I sent him."

The girl with two different hair colors, deep and light, sat in front of the computer, chewing on a lollipop and cracking her stiff fingers. She looked triumphantly at the "Hypnosis" software on the screen. This was her latest successful creation, and a surprise gift for Lin.

"Hahaha… He'll definitely marvel at my brilliant talent, won't he… Hahahahaha…"

She stood with her hands on her hips, laughing heartily.
