For example, the first time Roshi successfully borrowed the Tailed Beast Chakra, the first time he successfully used Complete Tailed Beast Transformation.
Swish, swish!
The rain was getting heavier, large raindrops continuously fell onto the mud and leaves, making a sound.
Roshi continued to stroll in the rain indifferently.
With his physique, he absolutely wouldn't get sick from this.
If it weren't for keeping a low profile, Roshi could even use Lava Release Chakra Mode to avoid the rain.
"Hey, young man! The rain is so heavy, are you still traveling? Come over and take shelter." A villager who had just rushed to his doorstep saw Roshi in the rain and shouted.
Roshi initially didn't want to pay attention, wanting to continue forward, but the Four-tails spoke.
"Roshi, don't you want to travel the Ninja World? Spending time in the Land of Rain just to see a Ninja Master is quite wasteful. You can also try communicating with others."
The Four-tails believed Roshi should experience life more and live without strange glances.
Roshi thought the Four-tails made sense, so he walked towards the villager who had shouted.
The villager scrutinized Roshi carefully; to avoid being discovered by Hidden Rock Ninjas, Roshi had been maintaining Transformation Jutsu along the way, now appearing as a young man without a beard.
Seeing Roshi wasn't carrying weapons and dressed in civilian attire, the villager called him over.
After a closer look, the villager regretted it a bit, because despite Roshi being dressed like an ordinary person, without weapons, his demeanor was rather unusual.
The villager dared not move, said nothing, and continued drying the rain from himself.
In his heart, he prayed Roshi was simply an ordinary person with a unique demeanor, and not a ninja.
Roshi, having rarely interacted with others, especially strangers from foreign lands, was unsure what to say for a while.
"What is this village called?" Roshi finally asked, breaking the silence.
He really couldn't think of a topic.
The villager had just wiped the rain off his forehead, hearing Roshi's question, a small sweat broke out on his forehead.
"Is it possible someone issued a mission concerning our village through a Ninja Organization?" The villager's heart skipped a beat.
"Shira… Shirakawa Village." The villager stammered in reply.
He initially didn't want to answer but feared Roshi would consider him evasive and attack him directly.
Roshi didn't know how to continue, so the atmosphere grew awkward for a moment.
"Papa, why aren't you coming inside?" Now the villager's child sprinted out.
"Papa, you can't dry your clothes completely like that." The child watched his father continuously dry his clothes and body, asking in confusion.
The villager's body stiffened; he was too nervous, so he kept drying endlessly.
"It's fine, I'm chatting with this elder brother, you go inside first." The villager shielded his child and said.
Roshi frowned slightly; due to his childhood experiences, he was sensitive to atmospheres, and sensed the villager's fear towards him.
He wasn't going to feel any resentment towards the villager over it.
Yet Roshi found it odd; his transformed appearance wasn't menacing, why was there fear?
Seeing Roshi frown, the villager grew even more anxious.
The child didn't return to the house but instead stuck his head out to look at Roshi, then said:
"Brother, are you a foreigner? You look unfamiliar."
The villager's face changed slightly as he quickly tried to push the child back.
"Yes." Roshi nodded.
The villager saw Roshi unmoved and instantly relaxed somewhat, yet still wasn't completely at ease, preparing to forcibly bring the child back inside.
Just then, a chaotic noise came.
"Be honest, hand over the valuable stuff if you don't want to die!"
A loud, rough shout reached Roshi's ears.
The villager's face suddenly changed, shielding his child before Roshi he said: "You can have whatever you want, just don't hurt us."
Roshi: ...
So he was mistaken for being a robber, clearly not his problem.
"I won't harm you, nor do I want your belongings. I'm not a bandit, just a passing ordinary person." Roshi said blandly.
The villager still remained vigilant; an ordinary person wouldn't be so calm hearing a robbery happening nearby.
Roshi ignored the villager and turned towards the rain, walking to where the sound came from.
He wasn't a champion of justice, merely disdainful towards ninjas harassing ordinary people.
Roshi didn't conceal his traces, walking over openly.
The wandering ninja committing robbery noticed Roshi approaching; when he intended to scold Roshi, Roshi's Chakra burst forth.
Swoosh! Boom!
The wandering ninja only felt a blur before excruciating pain erupted in his body, knocking him unconscious.
"Thank…" The robbed villager was overjoyed and promptly went to thank Roshi.
But as the villager looked up, Roshi was already gone, having used Instant Body Jutsu to move beside another wandering ninja.
The robbing wandering ninjas weren't alone; to increase efficiency, they spread out to rob.
Bang, bang!!
Roshi wielded his unadorned fists, each punch felling a wandering ninja.
Perhaps previously venting too much, the raindrops gradually lessened and became sparse.
When Roshi knocked out the fourth and final wandering ninja, the rain had almost stopped.
"Really quite weak, with such strength, any Chunin from the village could handle them, right?" Roshi shook his head.
These wandering ninjas were so weak that Roshi didn't bother to look at them directly.
"Sorry for blaming you, please forgive me, sir." The villager who initially invited Roshi to take shelter apologized to Roshi.
He had heard the commotion cease outside, came to check, only to find all the wandering ninjas had been defeated.
"Thank you, sir, for your help." Other villagers also expressed their gratitude.
Especially those being robbed, or already robbed villagers; the emotions of gratitude were visible to the naked eye.
Roshi said nothing, merely quietly sweeping his gaze across the crowd.
At this moment, Roshi's mood was somewhat complicated; simply defeating a few third-rate ninjas, yet receiving such gratitude.
Sensitive to atmospheres, Roshi could feel these villagers were genuinely thanking him.
Precisely because of this, Roshi was poignant about it.
At the Hidden Rock, he had completed countless S-level missions, vanquished numerous enemies for them, never receiving a single word of praise or an authentic smile from the villagers there.
Yet in this foreign land, he simply casually defeated a few Hidden Rock Genin level ninjas and obtained the most gratitude and appreciation he'd ever received.
Some villagers, to express thanks, wanted to give Roshi things, inviting him to visit their homes where he could dry his rain-soaked body.
Roshi even felt slightly flattered; could he receive such treatment?
However, Roshi declined all offers; this place was too close to the Land of Earth, he needed to continue south into the Land of Rain.
With his identity, lingering here wasn't good for either party.
"Are you a Ninja of the Ninja Sect?" A curious villager asked from the crowd.
"Why do you ask like that?" Roshi didn't answer the question, instead asked back.
He found the villager's question strange; he didn't have a Rain Ninja forehead protector, why presume he was a Ninja of the Ninja Sect.
"Ninjas who are helpful and don't want money usually belong to the Ninja Sect, right?" The villager answered honestly.
Recently, he heard a Ninja of the Ninja Sect came to the north, combined with Roshi's actions, he thought Roshi might be a Ninja of the Ninja Sect.
"What about the Rain Village ninjas?" Roshi asked.
Compared to the Ninja Sect, he thought the Rain Village was the force maintaining order in the Land of Rain.
After all, the Rain Village was established at the start of the village, whereas the Ninja Sect was a new ninja force, established only recently.
The villagers looked at each other, none speaking.
Though no one answered, it was a form of reply.
Roshi didn't continue questioning, he dispatched a Shadow Clone to carry away the four wandering ninjas.
After walking a distance out of Shirakawa Village, he killed the four wandering ninjas, then continued onwards.
"Sosuke, Ninja Sect…"
PS: Uh-oh, my schedule seems messed up again.
