Chapter 378 - Chapter 230: The Fire Release That Shocked the Examinees

Obito walked back to the second floor with a bright smile, grinning as he said, "How was it? I was fast, wasn't I? Battle resolved in less than a minute."

"Yeah, very impressive," Nohara Rin affirmed with a smile.

"I can only say it's alright; starting off with such a Chakra-wasting Ninjutsu isn't wise," Kakashi began to nitpick.

"Kakashi, you're just jealous. But I'm generous; if you don't make it to the third round, I'll definitely comfort you," with Nohara Rin's compliment as backing, Obito ignored Kakashi's derision.

Of course, if Kakashi really lost, Obito could laugh at him for a year; a Chunin participating in the Chunin Examination but not even making the third round would be hilarious.

"Second match, Shiranui Genma versus Terumi Mei," Hiruko quickly announced the names of the second match examinees.

"So unlucky," Shiranui Genma sighed.

Good news, he knew the enemy's intel; bad news, the enemy was too strong. Even with intel, he'd still get thrashed.

"No worries, the person before you surrendered instantly anyway. It wouldn't be too embarrassing if you gave up," Ebisu adjusted his sunglasses and said.

"Shoo, shoo, I have to at least exchange a few moves with her," Shiranui Genma punched Ebisu's chest.

Although Shiranui Genma knew he definitely couldn't beat Terumi Mei, he didn't want to end like Kono Hideyoshi, who ended without even a bout.

Shiranui Genma got his wish to exchange a few moves with Terumi Mei, but only a few. After spitting out a single senbon, and trading a punch and a kick in close quarters, he was locked in a Water Prison by Terumi Mei, unable to escape, and could only concede.

Even though he had mentally prepared, being defeated so easily still made Shiranui Genma uncomfortable. Back at the Ninja Academy, he was quite the influential figure in his class, and now the gap was just too great.

Shiranui Genma was ready to approach Teacher Chen for extra training once he returned. As long as he didn't train to death, he wanted to train as hard as possible; he didn't want to experience such an embarrassing scene a second time.

In the subsequent two battles, the victors were Kisame and Zabuza, both winning with absolute superiority.

"Fifth match, Hatake Kakashi versus Shimobon Koji."

"Good luck," Nohara Rin waved her small fist, cheering Kakashi on.

"Don't lose," Obito gave a Kakashi-style encouragement.

Kakashi nodded with a calm expression and directly leaped down from the second floor.

Since Shimobon Koji was a Hidden Mist Ninja and Kakashi hadn't encountered him during the second exam, he was unclear about his intel, so during the first exchange, Kakashi opted for a probing attack.

After realizing Shimobon Koji's strength was far below his, Kakashi immediately unleashed Breath of Thunder and used a rapid strike to position White Fang on Shimobon Koji's neck, ending the battle.

"Sixth match, Nohara Rin versus Nakane Toda."

"Believe in yourself, you can do it," Kakashi said upon returning to the second floor after the fight.

Nakane Toda was a Konoha Ninja whose intel they had, and was from the same class and team as Kono Hideyoshi, whom Obito had quickly defeated earlier.

"Little Rin, you'll definitely win," Obito offered his blessings.

Nohara Rin nodded with a smile and walked down the stairs into the battle arena.

Nakane Toda watched Nohara Rin cautiously. Although she appeared gentle and weak, both of her teammates won by overwhelming victory, making him wary of underestimating her.

"Looks so frail, her Taijutsu shouldn't be very strong," Nakane Toda's eyes carefully observed Nohara Rin's physique, analyzing her intel.

He assumed Nohara Rin, like Obito, excelled in Ninjutsu.

So Nakane Toda immediately formulated a battle plan: start by using Ninja Tools for harassment, then engage in close combat, as Taijutsu was his strength.

"Begin the battle!"

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!!

The moment Hiruko's words fell, Nakane Toda immediately took out shurikens and flung them at Nohara Rin.

"Basic Breathing, Full Concentration!"

Nohara Rin instantly entered the Basic Breathing state, enhancing her physical abilities.

Then the unexpected happened for Nohara Rin; she was still thinking about how to approach Nakane Toda when he suddenly charged directly at her.

Since Nakane Toda came to her himself, Nohara Rin didn't hold back. She immediately gathered a large amount of Chakra in her arm and executed Monster Strength Fist.

Bam!

With a loud crash, Nakane Toda, who had been trading punches with Nohara Rin, flew back like a cannonball, crashing heavily into the ground and creating spiderweb-like cracks.

The Central Tower was silent, and all the examinees stared wide-eyed at Nohara Rin, who was still maintaining her punching stance inside the arena.

They thought it was bizarre; a seemingly delicate nine-year-old girl punched a seemingly burly, muscular Nakane Toda flying.

"Hiss," Asuma took a sharp breath, his face expressing disbelief, "When did little Rin become so violent, oh wait, when did her Taijutsu become so formidable?"

In Asuma's impression, Nohara Rin was the type of student who was average across the board, particularly strong in theory. But that punch just now from Nohara Rin was too exaggerated.

"I'll have to talk to her after the exam," Yuhi Kurenai also appeared visibly shaken; she had never seen such a scene before.

Namiashi Raido was already numb; he felt that Nohara Rin was challenging to deal with. If that punch had hit him, Rin would have to kneel on the spot, begging him not to die.

"Nohara Rin wins," Hiruko announced Nohara Rin's victory after confirming Nakane Toda had lost the ability to continue fighting.

Upon passing the preliminaries, Nohara Rin showed a smile on her face. It was much simpler than she had imagined. She thought she'd have to go through a tough battle to win.
