Chapter 498 - Chapter 290: Mew's Secret Base, and the Shock Caused by Life Sheep Milk!

Mew and Teddiursa left, and life at the ranch returned to its usual calm.

However, this morning, Glaceon suddenly came rushing in a panic, with a look of terror: "Vee!"

Seeing this, Naoki was a bit surprised, what could scare the usually aloof Glaceon like this?

He casually ate a piece of Translation Nuts Cake before speaking: "Don't rush, take your time and explain!"

Glaceon managed to calm down for a moment, swallowed, and with a face full of terror, began to recount what happened last night.

"Vee Vee! Vee..." (There's a ghost in the cave! Last night I was sleeping on an ice rock, and around midnight, I suddenly heard a terrifying sinister laugh coming from the walls...)

Recalling this event still made Glaceon feel extremely scared, its cheeks were shrouded in a chilling fear.

"Vee... Vee!" (The walls of the cave are clearly made of stone, it's impossible for a person or Pokemon to be in there... it must be a ghost!)

The laughter was sharp and piercing, sometimes faint and sometimes strong, unlike any sound humans or Pokemon could make.

"A ghost?" Naoki was quite surprised. How could there be ghosts in the ranch? He had lived here for over a year, and aside from Gimmighoul and Spectrier, he hadn't seen any other Ghost-type Pokemon.

Was Glaceon referring to a ghost or a Ghost Type Pokemon?

Seeing Naoki seemingly skeptical, Glaceon anxiously assured: "Vee!" (It's true! The ghost is still laughing non-stop!)

Nani? Is that really the case?

Naoki immediately stopped his work and brought Koraidon and a few other Pokemon from the ranch to the Ice Cave in the back of the old house, which Glaceon considered its home.

As soon as they got close, Naoki heard the sharp and piercing laughter coming from within the walls.

Really hearing the ghostly laughter, his little sister Indeedee hid behind her brother in fear: "Dee..." (There's really a ghost laughing...)

Glaceon was shaking: "Vee?" (See, I wasn't lying, right?)

The brother Indeedee sighed helplessly.

Naoki, however, didn't feel too scared. He thought the sound didn't seem like something a normal Ghost-type Pokemon could produce.

After some thought, he stepped into the ice cellar, following the sound as he pressed his ear against the wall to carefully identify the direction of the laughter.

Koraidon stood aside, waiting for a while, "Aghas?"

"It's not a ghost," Naoki said, then went back outside, searching for the source of the sound from outside.

Soon, he pinpointed where the laughter was coming from.

Naoki pointed to the spot and instructed Koraidon, "Right here, use your fist to hit this spot!"

Koraidon obediently complied.

It clenched its fist and struck the mountain wall in front of it, resulting in a loud crash, and a hole suddenly appeared in the mountain wall.

Naoki stepped forward, clearing away the debris, and then looked inside.

To his surprise, the inside of the wall wasn't solid but had a small space.

Inside the space was a mess of things, including plush toys, plastic Pidgeotto figures, and toy cars.

And the laughter was coming from the fluffy bear toy.

Seeing this, Naoki was a bit stunned.

What was going on? Who created this place?

He reached his hand in, just enough to take out the laughing plush bear toy.

He unzipped the back and found the sound component inside.

It seemed like the battery was running low, which was why the laughter sounded so weak, almost like a ghostly wail.

"It's not a ghost, it's the toy making the sound." Naoki showed the toy to Glaceon and his little sister Indeedee.

As soon as he removed the battery from the back of the toy, the laughter stopped immediately.

Upon seeing the cute bear toy, Glaceon was momentarily stunned, then realized the situation, and her face instantly turned crimson.

She had made a fool of herself again! How embarrassing for an Eevee!

Glaceon weakly responded, "Vee..." (I get it now...)

The little sister Indeedee also breathed a sigh of relief, but then she noticed a problem: "Dee?" (Who placed these toys here?)

Koraidon thought for a moment and guessed: "Aghas? Aghas..." (Was it Mew? I saw it come here and use Psychic on the wall...)

It recalled that among the Pokemon in the ranch, only Mew liked these toys and loved placing them in its nest.

It definitely wasn't Teddiursa, because Teddiursa gave all the treasures it picked up to Naoki and didn't keep any for itself.

Upon hearing Koraidon's words, a move came to Naoki's mind.

That is Secret Power!

This is a very special move; not only can it be used to attack, but it can also be used to build secret bases in grass, big trees, and caves.

For Pokemon, this secret base is equivalent to a nest.

So this place was a little nook that Mew made using Secret Power?

And it hid all the toys here.

It was clear that Mew really liked this place; it probably just forgot to turn off the toy's switch before leaving.

With the toy in an active state, the battery kept draining, and when it was almost out of power, the laughter turned into ghostly moans.
