Chapter 373 - Chapter 238: Sharing Mom (4k)_2

In Cyclizar mother's view, it takes countless scars to forge such a powerful Cyclizar.

And those scars must have been earned from countless hard and difficult battles.

Hearing Cyclizar mother's words, Koraidon suddenly had a urge to cry.

But it held back.

Because now it was no longer a weak Cyclizar, but a mighty Pokemon who can protect everyone.

Cyclizar stared blankly at such a Koraidon, suddenly feeling that something was strange about Koraidon.

Could it be that it wanted to compete for mom like competing for Naoki?

Cyclizar's heart was instantly alarmed, it really wanted to say this is its mom, but looking at Koraidon's appearance, it hesitated.

Therefore, it asked: "Gawoo?"

Koraidon looked at its former self, just like the former Koraidon looked at it now.

It pondered for a moment, then said: "Gaaaa…"

In response, Cyclizar immediately showed sympathy.

Koraidon is so pitiful…

After some inner struggle, it said to Koraidon: "Gawoo!"

Since that's the case, it was willing to share mom with Koraidon, so it could also have a mom!

Meanwhile, Naoki had already arrived at the back with Mayor Thomas.

Looking at the two barrels of barley beer and two large pumpkins on the ground, he asked, "Mayor Thomas, where should these be placed?"

Mayor Thomas widened his eyes: "You brought so many things?"

Naoki smiled sheepishly: "This year's harvest was good, we can't finish it at home, so I brought them here to share with everyone."

"Hohoho, I see!" Mayor Thomas laughed: "Everyone's brought items have been placed over there, later some people and Pokemon will handle these ingredients specially, after cleaning and cutting them they can be put into the big pot to stew."

Saying this, Mayor Thomas waved his hand, and two enthusiastic citizens came with Pokemon to carry away the two big pumpkins and beer.

At this moment, a noise suddenly came from another side of the plaza.

Attracted by the sound, Naoki couldn't help but turn his head out of curiosity.

Initially, Mayor Thomas was also curious but quickly seemed to remember something, he grinned: "Oh right, almost forgot about this!"

"What?" Naoki was puzzled.

Mayor Thomas said mysteriously: "You'll find out soon, I need to go over there."

Naoki: "?"

What's going on, so secretive?

He returned to the group of Pokemon, watching Mayor Thomas leave with Cyclizar's mom.

Then, Naoki saw six Machamps carrying a huge object, walking through the crowd toward the center of the plaza.

The object was covered with a layer of black cloth, obscuring its exact appearance.

Once the six Machamps placed the object in the center of Festival Plaza, with a boom, the heavy object landed, Mayor Thomas stepped forward and whipped off the black cloth.

With that, Naoki finally saw the appearance of the object.

It was evidently a super giant Calyrex statue!

"Holy crap!" Naoki couldn't help but exclaim.

And Mayor Thomas was already holding a microphone, starting to introduce this great King of Bountiful Harvests to the unaware townspeople.

"This year, Porto Marinada Town's farm products have yielded a bounteous harvest! Far surpassing the neighboring town! I'm sure you are very curious about this."

"Why, despite the same weather and planting methods, our crops grew better than those in the neighboring town."

"Well now, let me introduce you to this great King of Bountiful Harvests!"

Naoki: "..."

Alright then, now he doesn't need to preach about Calyrex, these later-developed believers have already started to learn to spread Calyrex's name themselves.

Mayor Thomas's promotion proved quite effective, as he already heard some surprised exclamations from unaware townspeople.

"So, on today's Thanksgiving, we not only thank the land that nurtured us, but more importantly Calyrex who granted us abundance!"

Naoki watched this scene with interest.

In fact, compared to other Legendary Pokemons, Calyrex can indeed be described as a rather laid-back deity.

It requires no offerings nor specific tribute ceremonies, merely having people know its name is enough for its existence.

Moreover, according to Calyrex's setting, the more people know it, the stronger it becomes.

It typically doesn't need to battle, but what if it can't exhaust those powers? Surely, it would share excess energy with farmers who know it, aiding them in farming.

This is a completely positive cycle.

Even if one day someone forgets it, it wouldn't take revenge on humans.

Because Calyrex is a Pokemon filled with a loving heart, it would even, without bitterness, help enemies after battles.

Such a wonderful Pokemon!

Pity it ended up being forgotten by the world, with even its steed leaving it.

Naoki felt regret for Calyrex in his heart.

And with Crown Tundra being so cold, could Grass Type Calyrex endure it?

*

At noon, the banquet officially began.

Mayor Thomas stood on a stool before the big pot, putting the ingredients people brought into the pot to stew.

These mushrooms and vegetables were easy to cook, and soon, a fragrance wafted from the big pot.

Naoki and a group of Pokemon sat at a long dining table.

Across from him sat some residents of the town.

Upon hearing the young man in front was the rancher of Naoki Ranch, the children of those residents felt curiosity toward him.

One five or six-year-old boy, with wide eyes, looked at Koraidon and asked innocently: "Big brother, what's this Pokemon called?"

Naoki explained with a smile: "It's called Koraidon, it's a Dragon Type and Fighting Type Pokemon."

"Dragon Type and Fighting Type…" The boy pondered for a bit, then asked: "Isn't it Type Matchup by Fairy Type and Ice Type Pokemons?"

"Correct." Naoki nodded, then shook his head: "But, Type Matchups don't mean everything; some trainers and Pokemons can still achieve victory in battles even against type constraints."

The boy blinked, understanding only a little.

A girl hugging a Skwovet beside also cast curious glances over here.

Naoki turned to look, the focus brightened immediately as the girl and Skwovet asked: "Big brother, can I come to your ranch this afternoon to exchange pumpkin cookies? Mom's cookies are so delicious! Skwovet loves them too!"

Naoki responded with a smile: "Of course, my ranch has prepared lots of pumpkin cookies, you can exchange for as many as you want."

Exchanging pumpkin cookies is a local custom, somewhat similar to kids asking for candy on Halloween.

Upon hearing this, several children cheered.

One boy accidentally revealed his true intent: "Great! We can go see Pokemon over there!"

After saying this, he quickly covered his mouth.

Naoki raised a brow, somewhat surprised.

Seeing this, the boy's mother smiled and explained:

"Because on the town you can often see Dragonites flying from the ranch delivering milk, Dick wanted to visit that ranch where Dragonites deliver goods long ago."

Hearing this, the boy named Dick had shining, hopeful eyes as he raised his little hand:

"Uncle Zack said, Mr. Naoki's ranch raises many many Pokemons!"

Speaking excitedly, the boy pleaded: "Mr. Naoki, can I visit it? I promise I'll behave!"

"Of course you can." Naoki replied with a gentle smile, regarding kids who aren't troublemakers, he genuinely likes them.

Moreover, in those children's eyes, he could see a shadow of Ash.

Who knows, maybe one of these kids will grow to become a passionate Pokemon trainer like Ash someday.

Upon his agreement, the boy cheered loudly: "That's great!"

By now, the food in the big pot was fully cooked.

Some warm-hearted townsfolk actively moved forward to serve the soup, sharing it with everyone.

Soon, a bowl of soup was placed before Naoki.

Looking down at the bowl, the information of the soup floated into his mind.

[Celebration Stew (No Level): A stew cooked to celebrate the harvest, using plenty of fresh ingredients, though it has no special effect, it allows people to taste the flavor of happiness.]
