Chapter 524 - Chapter 157: The Homebound Train, the Far-Traveling Youth (Part 2)

He clearly remembered how Albus Dumbledore responded to him.

"Hahahaha, obviously, you fell for my trick." Albus Dumbledore's smiling expression seemed a bit cunning, his sly eyes made the little wizard feel the tactics of Old Deng.

"So, is this your prank?"

Ian thought the situation might not be as simple as he imagined.

"No, no, no, given the dangerous magic you've learned this semester, I do believe there's a need for periodic checks to see if you've been influenced by dark magic."

"This is my responsibility as headmaster, isn't it?" Albus Dumbledore winked at Ian, and his actions truly left the little wizard a bit helpless.

"Alright."

Ian sighed heavily, got up, bowed, and left the empty exam room. Outside the exam room, many pairs of eyes were nervously watching the expression on his face.

These little wizards seemed to be trying to gauge the difficulty of the exam from Ian's expression.

"Young Professor, I heard the exam requires us to fight a giant dragon, is that true?"

"If it's a giant dragon, I'm done for! I haven't even practiced the simplest interference spell, Flock of Birds, this morning during review, I only summoned a flock of non-flying dodos."

"Didn't you guys see? Inside is our headmaster, Mr. Dumbledore! The exam content is obvious... we're undoubtedly meant to resist the succubus's temptations!"

...

It's unknown how long the rumor about Albus Dumbledore being a succubus will persist. As soon as Ian walked out of the exam room, he was surrounded by a group of familiar little wizards to inquire about the news. To be honest, this kind of scene made Ian a bit embarrassed, since he really didn't know what types of assessments other little wizards would have.

"Actually, everyone doesn't need to be nervous. This year's exam is quite simple." Ian provided a deliberately vague answer, even if other little wizards found it difficult, they definitely wouldn't doubt his statement.

After all, everyone knows Ian's mastery of magic far exceeds other peers, so a test that's simple for Ian could very well be extremely difficult for other examinees.

And if the exam content is indeed simple, Ian can say he's considering it from others' perspectives, no matter what the final situation is, his answer can always be reasonably explained.

"I'm so clever!" After dealing with the circle of little wizards around him, having completed all the exams, Ian planned to return to the Room of Requirement for a rest.

On his way to the staircase, he saw the second-year George and Fred, these two Gryffindor twins, looking crestfallen after finishing their exams.

That kind of worried look, as if their Golden Galleons had been stolen.

"What's the matter with you guys? Didn't do well in the exams?"

Ian indulged in the same mischievous pleasure as other Ravenclaw College students, enjoying pretending to ask about others' exam results during finals.

"Rather than saying we didn't do well, it's more like the sky fell down, we were caught cheating by Professor McGonagall." Fred sighed heavily, his tone carrying a hint of regret.

He was clearly regretting not his exam results, but that his cheating method didn't succeed.

"It's all your fault, Fred, I told you we should study seriously for three days before the exam, no, two days, but you insisted your cheating idea was flawless!"

Equally frustrated, George started to shift the blame.

"So? Didn't you also exclaim at the time that my idea was a good one and we would go down in history?" Fred immediately retaliated stubbornly.

The two brothers had this type of bickering personality.

"Damn it! Who would have thought your idea seemed great, but in reality it was terrible! Not only did it fail to seize the young wizard's market share ahead of us, but it also turned us into clowns!"

George angrily criticized his twin brother.

"Didn't your cheating kits sell at least a dozen units? That should be considered pretty good, right?" Ian felt secretly pleased, but outwardly expressed some lukewarm consolation.

"Yeah, right!"

George pulled a tiny ant from his ear, if you looked closely, you'd notice it wasn't a creature, but had a plastic-like texture.

"The answer assistant can only respond to questions we already know the answers to, it was garbage, why do I need an answer assistant to help me when I already know the answers?"

"Not only did it not allow me to get good grades, but because of meaningless cheating, I was caught by Professor McGonagall and stood in the exam room for the whole morning!"

"Ian, do you have any idea how it feels to have ants crawling in your ears, unable to scratch because of the petrificus totalus spell? If possible, I'd rather do a ballet with Azkaban's Dementors!"

George's frustration and resentment were easily understandable, clearly Professor McGonagall's methods for handling cheaters differed from those of Filius Flitwick.

Indeed.

Both methods of punishment were memorable for the cheaters.

"The main problem was the time was too tight... I couldn't finish properly debugging these answer assistants, next year, next year I will definitely fix the issues with the answer assistant."
