Chapter 342 - Chapter 322: The Professor's Card

A few days later.

"Tenjo-san, please wait a moment."

When Tenjo Hikari and Serena returned to the Forest Station, ready to change direction again and head to the Critical Point's center, a station staffer stopped Tenjo Hikari.

"There's a letter for you."

"A letter?"

Tenjo Hikari was a bit perplexed.

In this day and age, a letter?

"A letter from Principal Cronos." The Kaiba Company's staff member continued.

"I see." Tenjo Hikari understood.

If that's the case, it must be a letter with something tangible included.

He and Serena followed the station staff to the Kaiba Company's courier station, where there were many busy workers.

The station was piled high with various items, and the busy workers were recording things while wiping sweat from their brows.

Tenjo Hikari asked and learned that these items were not school supplies, but things sent by parents from around the world to their children, because Duel Academy students from all branches are global, and while the children adventure in the Other Dimension, parents couldn't help but worry, treating it as if their children were on a sightseeing trip, hence naturally parents from around the world send things to their children.

At any given time, parents globally may send things to their children, resulting in Kaiba Company personnel working in shifts 24-hours to manage everything.

"Phew... that's really hard work." After listening, Tenjo Hikari hurriedly thanked them.

What Cronos sent him was a letter, sealed with Kaiba Company's special KC stamp, classified as "top priority" in correspondence, ordinary staff at Kaiba Company didn't even have the authority to run transport checks on it.

Looking at this letter, Tenjo Hikari realized there must be something particularly important inside, otherwise Professor Cronos wouldn't use such high standards.

"Hmm, sensing a rather intriguing power, Tenjo Hikari." As Tenjo Hikari took the letter to the station's lounge with Serena, Tierra couldn't help but softly say, "Before, I sensed a similar power in that person called Fubuki."

Fubuki?

Darkness?

Tenjo Hikari frowned, as he opened the letter, finding a card inside; he cautiously set the card down, then read the letter, and Serena leaned in curiously to look as well.

After spending a few minutes, the two understood and had their responses to the contents of Cronos' letter.

Serena felt a strange sense of loss.

Based on Cronos' letter, the good news was, her father was indeed alright, even had the mind to continue stirring things up. So she wasn't an orphan again.

But the bad news was, her father was truly alright and had the mind to stir things up. So she might as well become an orphan again...

"Sigh..." The petite girl was full of worries.

Through Cronos' letter, Tenjo Hikari also learned about the current status of the Human World, knowing the professor was okay, he let out a breath of relief.

As for the suggestion to keep an eye on the GX Tournament...

Tenjo Hikari nodded while reading the letter.

Even if the professor hadn't entrusted him, he would naturally do so himself.

Since the new semester began, Tenjo Hikari has been keeping tabs on the Light of Destruction, gradually dismantling various small Fusion Army bases located in different dimensions. Doing what he can and what he chooses to do. Besides, this tournament is Principal Samejima's last organized before resigning, laden with significance. Whether from personal sentiment or responsibility, he intends to give his all.

With this understanding, the "duty" is something he won't abandon. Additionally, with the Fusion Army's presence, he won't slack off. The professor's specific request was actually unnecessary.

Each teacher has their own responsibility, and as the academy's current "Chief", he naturally bears the responsibility too.

Getting the general idea of things, Tenjo Hikari went to look at the two cards protected layer upon layer by card bricks and sleeves, one of which even when covered by a solid black card brick, still emitted a faint black aura, unsurprisingly, it was the "Darklord" card Professor Cronos mentioned.

He opened the card brick, carefully removing the nested card sleeves, then examined the card.

Darklord Zerato?

It's a card with many versions, including Synchro, Ritual, Angel, Archfiend, Zombie-Type—it certainly is an interesting Yu Gi Oh card image character.

The card emanated a tangible black aura, and Tenjo Hikari could feel, as he lifted this card, a power began swirling around his right hand, a force within this card seemed eager to merge with Tenjo Hikari's body.

This should be the "Blessing" the professor mentioned in his letter, right?

Clearly, at least for this card, Tenjo Hikari completely satisfied its "standard requirement".

Tenjo Hikari shook his right hand.

A bit tingling.

The Darklord Deck actually includes Polymerization elements, the "Big Brother" of Darklords, The First Darklord is an LV 12 Fusion Monster with effects considered comprehensive for Darklords, both offensive and sustainable.

Although having only one Fusion Monster might not readily classify it as a "Fusion Deck", following the emergence of Despia Decks, the Despia Branded Darklord Deck also became quite powerful.

Included in Tenjo Hikari's spare cards is the Darklord fusion "Darklord Uprising", though previously Tenjo Hikari hadn't a place to use that card, perhaps in the future it might be used.

After all, where there's one, there's two.

Given others are "Blessed", there's a possibility of encountering them.

As for the other card...

Tenjo Hikari was somewhat puzzled.

It was a mysterious card, Tenjo Hikari didn't even know what it was.

Because Cronos' letter stated it was a card Tenjo Hikari would be thrilled to cheer upon seeing.

Cronos having been interrogated by Kaiba Company for over a month, later celebrated as a hero, Cronos was acutely aware he hadn't truly done such deeds, hence when compensation was granted by Kaiba Company, he didn't request more powerful Ancient Gear cards.

He hoped Kaiba Company could assist in finding a card unique in significance to his students, himself, and Tenjo Hikari's Deck; one that perfectly matches Tenjo Hikari's preference, and symbolizes the most critical card on Tenjo's Path of Fusion. He hoped Kaiba Company could locate that card.

Initially, Cronos assumed Kaiba Company might fail to find it, yet surprisingly, after Cronos' inquiry, Kaiba Company searched across its global divisions, all friendly dimensions, and astonishingly found that precious card in some dimension.

"What kind of card could make the professor so attentive?" Serena curiously stared at the unopened card.

As a Duelist, although disappointed her father found another sister and neglected her, she was even more intrigued by what kind of card the renowned Legendary Duelist Professor Cronos had prepared for her master to regard with such importance.

"God's Card? Legendary Card?" Serena mused.

If it was that type of card, perhaps the chance to use it might also present to her!

Tenjo Hikari was equally curious; he opened the card brick, removed layers of sleeves, as the card's colors began emerging, Tenjo Hikari felt a sudden surge of excitement.

"Wait, isn't this—" Seeing the card, even the spectating Tierra couldn't help but exclaim.

"Eh? Low-Level Monster?" Serena puzzledly tilted her head seeing the card revealed.

Tenjo Hikari directly shouted "Ah!?"

Serena was perplexed observing her master and Spirit Sister, the usually composed master actually shouted out loud? The Spirit Sister, usually indifferent to everything except for her master, was surprisingly excited?

Tenjo Hikari cautiously held the card, his hands trembling, seemingly unable to grasp it.

Professor—

Kaiba Company's compensation proves it can unearth even such cards?

If at first you wanted even rarer Ancient Gear cards, or other rare cards, wouldn't you get them as desired?

The professor sacrificed so much, cared so deeply, Tenjo Hikari couldn't conceal his inner emotions.

Indeed.

In his hand was a seemingly ordinary "Low-Level Monster".

However, the card, was by no means an [ordinary] card.

Because...

It is—

Aleister the Invoker!
