Chapter 480 - Chapter 58: Rain of Blood (Part 1)_2

Speaking of which, he disappeared from his original spot and appeared behind Obito in an instant, aiming a hand chop at the back of Obito's neck.

Obito tilted his head to dodge, his body flashed to the side, barely evading the ambush from this Konoha Jonin.

The Konoha Jonin was slightly surprised; this kid seems interesting.

"It's true that the Sharingan can see my movement trajectory, but whether you can dodge is another matter... I underestimated you, let's increase the intensity a bit more."

He sealed with his hands, finally clasping them together.

"Earth Style: Pillar Prison!"

Stone pillars shot up rapidly from under Obito's feet, startling him as he hurriedly retreated, dodging the stone pillars emerging from beneath.

Then, as if tracking him, wherever Obito retreated to, the stone pillars would rise, blocking his movements.

While Obito's attention was drawn to the stone pillars underfoot, the Jonin quickly gathered a large amount of chakra in his feet, and a splash of water appeared – Water Style: Water Instant Body Jutsu. In an instant, he flashed behind Obito, faster and quieter than the Initial Instant Body Jutsu.

"Ah!"

Obito cried out in pain, hit in the back by the Konoha Jonin's palm.

He spat out a mouthful of blood and rolled awkwardly on the ground.

But he still fixed his eyes on the Konoha Jonin with his Sharingan.

The Konoha Jonin cautiously avoided looking at Obito's Sharingan.

As a member of the Konoha Jonin, he had previously cooperated with Uchiha Ninja and knew the power of these eyes.

Illusion Techniques formed based on the Sharingan only take effect when eye contact is made, so the best strategy when fighting Sharingan Ninja is to avoid sight lines.

Of course, avoiding sight lines means ceding an advantage to the enemy. Without observing the enemy's whole body, your ability to judge during battle decreases.

But this disadvantage arises in battles between Jonin of the same level.

Obito's strength clearly wasn't enough to fight a Jonin.

Therefore, even without observing all of Obito's actions, the Jonin could use the gap in strength and experience to defeat Obito.

Fortunately, this was a Uchiha fledgling yet to spread its wings.

Obito gritted his teeth and retreated.

Very strong, yet cautious.

From the start of the fight, the opponent never looked at his Sharingan.

The opponent entirely overpowered him with experience and skill, despite him possessing the Sharingan.

Obito didn't feel discouraged at all; he was aware of the gap between Chunin and Jonin.

This gap couldn't easily be bridged even with the Sharingan. He had already been fighting with all his might, while the other side remained at ease.

But he couldn't retreat here!

He had to break through this blockade.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

After rigorous training, the Fire Style Ninjutsu he released possessed power unmatched by standard ninja.

But such a bold move still had many flaws in the eyes of the Konoha Jonin.

Although he was a Sharingan Ninja, there was still a long way to go before he could fully mature.

A wall of water rose, quenching the fireball with a powerful surge.

"Not bad, but don't underestimate a Jonin."

Throughout the fight with Obito, not a speck of dust touched him, maintaining a superior demeanor, looking down at Obito.

This was an insurmountable gap.

Obito was acutely aware of this.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

The wide range couldn't be easily evaded, so the Konoha Jonin also repeatedly used Water Style Ninjutsu to extinguish the fireballs with water.

Steam spread like white mist, and Obito's figure vanished from sight.

"Even if you use Ninjutsu to create a misty environment, you can't escape my pursuit. It's just wasting chakra."

The Jonin lectured Obito thusly.

Thinking that by using the steam produced by the contact of water and fire to escape was underestimating a Jonin's ability too much.

Obito disappeared into the misty environment, but the Jonin was not worried at all. He calmly searched for traces of Obito, judging which direction he fled.

Soon, relying on his excellent judgment, he pinpointed Obito's escape path. Just as he was about to pursue, a sharp lightning bolt cut through the mist.

The Konoha Jonin had just turned his head when he lost consciousness, collapsing and twitching uncontrollably.

Observing the Konoha Jonin who had been knocked unconscious by the lightning, a small shadow appeared through the mist, glanced, and then promptly disappeared, chasing after Obito.

Soon, two more silhouettes appeared, finding someone unconscious on the ground and quickly moved to inspect him.

"Hey, Ueno, what happened to you? Wake up."

The Konoha Jonin on the ground groggily came to, seeing two familiar faces.

They were his ninja comrades from Konoha Village.

"Why are you lying here? Where's Uchiha Obito?"

One of them asked.

Jonin Ueno smiled wryly, touching the spot struck by the lightning, saying: "I was careless, today's young folks should not be underestimated."

"No way, is Uchiha Obito that strong?"

"Not him, it was that brat Kakashi, Sakumo's son."

Hearing Jonin Ueno's words, the two comrades' eyes widened.

"He and Uchiha Obito are both Chunin, right?"

"Yeah, he managed to silently get close to me and struck me unconscious in one shot, even though it was due to my carelessness... Even in a direct fight, I might not be able to best him."
