"Hey, Yusei-kun, what's the deal with your eyes?" Asuna asked curiously.
"They're called the Rinnegan. They're eyes that grant me immense power. For example..." Yusei thought for a moment, then gestured towards an empty glass on the coffee table.
Under Asuna's astonished gaze, the glass levitated and flew directly into Yusei's hand.
"Psychic powers?" Asuna exclaimed in surprise.
"You could say that," Yusei replied with a laugh.
"Anata, amazing!" Asuna clapped her hands together, applauding.
Yusei chuckled heartily. The feeling of being admired by his wife was indeed wonderful. He spread his hands and retrieved two crystal orbs from his system inventory.
"These are gifts for you and Kaguya. Choose one."
"Eh?" Asuna blinked in a dazed manner, looking at the seemingly ordinary crystal orbs with hesitation.
After a moment's thought, she finally chose the one that resembled a shining sun. She didn't know what they were, but she guessed they were probably souvenirs Yusei had brought back for them to play with, like the crystal balls fortune tellers used.
So, between the sea-colored one and the bright, sun-like one, she chose the brighter one. There was no particular superstition behind it and Asuna simply felt the color of this crystal ball resembled her hair color.
"Then, shatter it. Both are quite good," Yusei said with a slight smile.
But Asuna was confused, "Shatter it?"
"Yes. These contain Divine Power. Once you shatter it, you can obtain a God's Authority," Yusei explained.
"Divine power? Then... then Yusei-kun should use it!" Upon hearing it was a Divine Authority, Asuna immediately shook her head in refusal. It was too precious, and it would be better for her darling to use it himself.
"I already have my own. These two crystal balls are gifts specifically for you and Kaguya. Since you've chosen this one, please accept it." As he spoke, Yusei took Asuna's hand and pressed it directly onto the crystal ball.
The Divine Crystal shattered, but instead of glass fragments, it transformed into specks of golden light that merged into Asuna's body.
Without Pandora's ritual, and under the system's operation, Asuna absorbed this Authority without any side effects.
"How do you feel?" Yusei asked.
"I feel... warm all over. It's like I'm full of energy," Asuna said, looking at her hands in surprise.
"You should be able to sense the Authority now… the Ten Incarnations. It has ten different abilities, each with its own use."
"Yes, I can sense them. It's truly incredible." Asuna marveled, but she had no immediate desire to test the powers.
She was, after all, an ordinary university student at heart and wouldn't become conceited just because she gained power. While gaining power made her happy, her joy wasn't rooted in having 'superpowers' but in the fact that with this strength, she could better protect Yusei, Yui, and the others.
The two spent time together until evening. After dinner, Yusei didn't stay the night but returned to his own family home.
His parents had been worried about him for the past six months, so going home to reassure them and let them know he was safe was the least he could do.
And so, on his first day back, Yusei was busy traveling to various places, making phone calls, and sending emails… everywhere needed his reassurance.
The next day, Asuna went to school.
Yusei, due to certain matters, temporarily did not attend. He was currently on 'leave status' at Tokyo University. Why he could take so much time off without even reporting initially wasn't important.
Today, he had a very important task. He needed to handle it properly first.
In the mountainous forests on the outskirts of Tokyo, Yusei deliberately found a deserted area. Athena accompanied him.
Athena watched curiously as Yusei cleared an open space, her gaze full of admiration, "Summoning a Divine Beast from another world? As expected, my husband is the most amazing!"
"Haha, a Divine Beast might be a stretch. I'm planning to summon a Tailed Beast."
"Tailed Beast?"
"Yes, a very powerful beast-like entity capable of destroying a mountain with a single blow. But it's hard to say, as it might fail," Yusei explained.
"Husband, do your best! You will definitely succeed!" Athena stood to the side, cheering him on.
Yusei smiled, collected his thoughts, and recalled the system's explanation of the Rinnegan's Animal Path.
Animal Path: Summon contracted beings from myriad worlds. Can be humans or beasts. The summoning must meet three conditions.
Designation: The summoner must designate the being to summon. During the summoning, they must visualize the being's appearance, such as: looks, species, gender, etc. The more detailed, the higher the success rate.
Power Differential: The summoned being's strength must be weaker than the summoner's, otherwise there is a high chance of failure. Unless the being actively acknowledges the summon and holds goodwill towards the summoner.
Limitation: There is no limit to the number of contracted beings for the Animal Path. However, the Cross-World Contract Summoning can only be used once a year.
For these three conditions, Yusei automatically met the third one since he hadn't used the Animal Path's contract summoning yet.
For the second point, he had already considered it. Taking his own strength into account and worrying about coming up empty-handed, he settled on the Nine-Tails. The Nine-Tails was always the punching bag, destined never to escape the Sharingan's clutches in its lifetime. So, Yusei reasoned, his Rinnegan should be stronger than the Sharingan, making the Nine-Tails a viable target for summoning.
The first point was even easier. The Nine-Tails' fiery red fur, its ferocious roaring appearance, its easily recognizable fox form... although its gender was debatable, its appearance was unmistakable.
The Nine-Tails always referred to itself as 'Ore-sama', which is a proud, masculine way of calling oneself, but a female fox could also use that term, couldn't it?
After comprehensive consideration, Yusei felt the Nine-Tails was the most suitable contracted being for him now, not to mention it could combine with his Susanoo to form the [Majestic Attire: Susanoo].
Because the Nine-Tails' size was enormous, he needed a spacious, uninhabited area, which was why he chose this wilderness location.
After all preparations were complete, Yusei stood in the center of the clearing and activated the Animal Path's ocular technique.
"O being with a majestic form, power to shatter mountains and rivers, fiery red fur, and the unmistakable visage of a fox… preferably a female beast! Heed the call of the Rinnegan, traverse time and space to appear before me, become my power! Appear now, Nine-Tails!"
