Sera raised her hand and declared, "First, Faimena's effect! When this card is sent to the Graveyard as Fusion Material, I can Set 1 Dracotail Spell or Trap directly from my Deck!"
"Next, Urgula's effect! When this card is sent to the Graveyard as Fusion Material, I can Set 1 Dracotail Spell or Trap from my Deck, then destroy 1 Spell or Trap on the field!"
Hearing this, Arella hesitated only a moment before raising her hand sharply. "I activate my Set card—Trap Card Lost Wind! I target 1 Special Summoned face-up monster on the field; its effects are negated, and its original Attack is halved! I target your Dracotail Gulamel to negate its effects and halve its Attack!"
A gust of pitch-black wind howled toward the colossal lion statue. But Sera immediately countered by revealing another card. "Quick-Play Spell—Spellbook of Wisdom! I target 1 Spellcaster monster I control; this turn, that face-up monster is unaffected by other Spell or Trap effects!"
"I target Dracotail Gulamel, making it unaffected by your Trap Card this turn!"
A glowing green tome materialized before the massive lion statue. The pages fluttered open, releasing a barrier of emerald light that enveloped the statue and blocked the encroaching storm.
"Spellbook, huh?" Arella narrowed her eyes at the book's radiance, though she wasn't entirely surprised. Given that the Spellbook series was once the signature power of Saint Fusion Academy's headmaster, Lord Aleister Bredt. That his brilliant descendant now wielded it was hardly unexpected.
Once the black wind dissipated, Sera continued, "Urgula's effect resolves! I Set the Trap Card Dracotail Flame to my field, then destroy your Continuous Spell Synchronized Realm!"
A new card appeared behind Sera. The phantom of Urgula materialized above it, exhaling a wave of orange flame that incinerated the turquoise web of light covering the battlefield before fading away.
"Next is Faimena's effect! I Set the Trap Card Dracotail Horn from my Deck!"
Another card shimmered into existence behind Sera. "Then I activate Urgula's second effect from the Graveyard! If this card is in the Graveyard, I can target 1 Spellcaster Dracotail monster in my Graveyard; return this card to the bottom of the Deck, and add that target to my hand! I target Faimena—Urgula returns to the Deck, and Faimena returns to my hand!"
"And at this moment, Dracotail Gulamel's effect activates!" Sera pointed at Arella's field. "Once per turn, when I activate a Dracotail card or effect, I can target 1 card on your field and destroy it! I target your Windwitch - Diamond Bell! Draconic Lion's Howl Cannon!"
As Sera pointed at Diamond Bell, the lion statue slowly opened its mouth, revealing a swirling galaxy within. A pale-blue orb of energy gathered in its jaws, while the alabaster jars at its sides glowed with golden light.
At Sera's command, the orb and twin beams fired simultaneously. The projectiles converged midair, merging into a majestic creature with a lion's head and a dragon's tail. It roared with regal fury and crashed headlong into Diamond Bell.
BOOM!!!
An explosion of light and flame engulfed the field, a storm of fire sweeping across the Duel Plaza.
Gasps rippled through the crowd at the sheer power of Dracotail Gulamel—but then, a chilling breeze blew through, dispersing the flames.
Windwitch - Diamond Bell still stood unscathed.
Cries of shock erupted among the students of Saint Fusion Academy, but across the arena, the Starlink Academy students exchanged knowing looks and faint smiles.
"The effect of the Tuner monster Windwitch - Snow Bell used as Synchro Material!" Arella's voice rang out. "If this card is used for the Synchro Summon of a WIND Synchro Monster, that monster cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects!"
Sera glanced at Diamond Bell. The spectral form of Snow Bell hovered protectively before it, shielding it from Gulamel's blast.
Sera wasn't surprised. "So be it. Then Urgula's effect continues—I return Faimena to my hand."
She retrieved a card from the Graveyard, then declared, "Next, I activate Skilled Dark Magician's effect! By Tributing this card with three Spell Counters, I can Special Summon 1 Dark Magician from my hand, Deck, or Graveyard! I Special Summon Dark Magician from my Deck!"
The three Spell Counters burst into light. Skilled Dark Magician dissolved into violet energy that surged upward into the golden Dark Magical Circle above.
A black staff spun out of the magic array, followed by a white-haired mage in black armor, who caught the staff midair and descended onto Sera's field.
