"So, you're the one who wishes to be my master?"
A sultry yet slightly deranged voice echoed. Alice smiled radiantly as she looked at the Spirit before her.
She was a beautiful woman with long, pale golden hair tipped in soft lavender, her violet eyes accented by pale purple shadow. A white mage's hat rested atop her head, crowned with a shimmering crystal tiara, giving her the air of a wickedly enchanting sorceress-queen.
Yet beneath that regal grace lay chaos—her white, skin-tight combat suit and flowing coat, whose inner lining seemed etched with countless laughing mouths, made her seem equal parts elegant and insane.
She was both witch and warrior, queen and madwoman.
Having cast aside her old name, she combined her mother's with a fragment of her own to forge a new one. This woman was one of the last two survivors of the "Witch's Forest" —the "White Forest."
Her name: Diabellze the Original Sinkeeper.
Outside the arena, Class A watched with nervous anticipation, and even Alicia couldn't hide her worry. It was rare for a Spirit to threaten the very Summoner who had called it forth and saved its life.
Meanwhile, Yuui, upon seeing the legendary "White Witch," frowned a bit. Something about her felt familiar—not because of Duel Cards. He had never brought over any from the "Sin Jewel" lore, and Diabellze wasn't among them. So… when had he met this mad yet tragic woman before?
On the field, Diabellze's smile grew even more dazzling as she gazed at Alice's grin. Her five slender fingers lengthened, forming violet claws that gleamed like blades. Pressing them gently against Alice's throat, she asked again, "So you're the one who wishes to be my master?"
Seeing Alice in danger, Class A's instructor, Janice Leo, released her Archmagus-level aura, her Spirits materializing beside her in spectral form. If Diabellze dared make a move, Janice was confident she could reduce the Spirit's very soul to ashes before it harmed her student.
Even so, Alice only looked calmly at the witch and whispered, "Yes… I want to be your master."
At those words, Diabellze's claws drew blood, crimson seeping down Alice's pale neck. The White Witch's voice deepened. "And what gives you the right?"
Alice forced a smile. "Her. Is that enough?"
A shadow appeared at Alice's side—a white-haired woman in a black and crimson battle suit, its skirt shaped like spread bat wings. A half-demonic mask covered one side of her face, her gaze icy and sharp.
The moment Diabellze saw her, her violet pupils constricted in shock. The name escaped her lips before she could stop it.
"Astellar!"
Though Diabellze's soul had been damaged in her passage through the "Time Rift," leaving her memories fragmented, there was one face she could never forget… the woman before her.
Her sister. Her last living family.
And when the white-haired woman spoke her true name, any doubt vanished.
The other survivor of the White Forest, known to the world as the "Black Witch," had also taken a new name by combining her late mother's with part of her own. Smiling gently, she said, "It's been a long time, Elzette."
Two sisters—one named for a shining star, the other for light and hope. Yet their lives had been anything but radiant.
Hearing her true name spoken aloud, Diabellze released Alice without a second thought and threw herself into her sister's arms.
The Black Witch embraced her in return. To the onlookers, it was an incomprehensible reunion… but seeing that the Spirit called "Elzette" no longer posed any threat to Alice, Instructor Janice, without a word, dismissed her own Spirits.
Watching her twin Spirits reunite, Alice turned toward Alicia and flashed her a triumphant peace sign.
Alicia finally relaxed, smiling back. When Alice had first been held at knifepoint, she'd been ready to send Stratos and Liquid Soldier charging to the rescue; however, Yuui had persuaded her to wait. After all, if Instructor Janice couldn't save her student, no one could.
Fortunately, it hadn't come to that. It seemed Alice's existing Spirit already knew Elzette—and was, in fact, her sister. With that bond, it was no surprise the summoning succeeded.
As Alicia predicted, after a brief, emotional conversation between the two witches, Alice appeared to agree to some condition. Diabellze then dissolved into light, forming a Duel Card that floated into Alice's hand.
And thus, Alice had tamed the powerful witch—Diabellze the Original Sinkeeper.
Her Summoning Test earned her a score of 48 points, a remarkable feat. After all, Diabellze was a Level 7 Spirit of the Illusion Fiend type, a card of immense rarity and strength—one never before seen. Janice naturally awarded her an exceptionally high score.
