Pushing open the village chief's door.
In the moderately sized living room, two elderly men sat facing each other, each holding a cup of tea. On the wooden coffee table sat another steaming teacup.
Noah sat down casually, picked up the teacup, and drained it before speaking. "It seems you were both waiting for me. I apologize for keeping you."
Roubaul smiled. "Young people have abundant energy, and releasing it is perfectly natural. We old folks understand."
Tsk tsk, the old rascal.
Facing the blatant teasing, Noah grumbled inwardly but quickly moved past the topic, turning to look at the village chief.
"So, Village Chief, could you tell me about the Moon Temple's origin?"
As if expecting this, the village chief first expressed his gratitude to Noah for resolving the evil energy sealed beneath the temple, then pulled out a very old-looking book from his robe.
"This is a journal left by our ancestors, recording a mythical story."
Noah looked at the ancient book the village chief pushed over, then at Roubaul. Seeing he made no move, Noah understood that Roubaul had already read this journal. He then took it and began flipping through.
The journal was made of special magical material, allowing it to remain intact after many years. The content recorded was indeed just a story with mythical overtones.
Countless years ago, Gods and Demons waged a world-shattering war on Earth Land to claim its ownership.
This war between gods and demons wasn't described in detail—it only recorded one major event during the conflict: the deaths of the God Lord and the Demon King.
The Lord of Gods and the King of Demons both fell.
However, the God Lord died completely, while the Demon King—relying on her powerful physique—still had a breath left.
The gods feasted on their leader's corpse. The God Lord's power was too immense. Even his flesh and blood after death greatly increased the divine power of the gods.
After annihilating all the demons with lightning speed, some gods—immersed in their newfound power—actually turned on their companions, devouring their flesh and blood to gain strength.
Attacking indiscriminately, the gods suffered heavy casualties in a short time.
A few insane gods even set their sights on the Demon King. If gods could eat gods, then demons could also serve as food to enhance power.
The dying King of Demons, unwilling to suffer such a humiliating death, used her last power to unleash her final spell.
The Demon King's body disintegrated.
Most of the Demon King's fragments transformed into the Eighteen Demon Battle Gods, who broke through and left Earth Land.
The remaining Demon King fragments were either sealed by gods or consumed by gods.
Galuna Island, countless years ago, had a piece of the Demon King's fragment buried and sealed by the Moon God.
However, the gods who consumed the Demon King's fragments exploded and died due to the conflict between divine power and Magic Power, with only one surviving.
This god, who wielded both divine power and Magic Power, completely went mad, becoming the unique Demon God in the world.
When the sacred "power of life" and the evil "power of death" were concentrated in one body, the Demon God began a massive slaughter, sparing no one—neither the high and mighty gods nor the lowly mortals.
Finally, at Earth Land's will's request, a third party intervened. The ancient Celestial Spirit King descended and severely wounded the Demon God with the power of the galaxy.
The story ended with the Demon God and the remaining gods being expelled from Earth Land.
What the hell is this?!
Noah closed the journal, feeling a massive headache coming on.
Good news: the origin of Satan Soul was clear.
Bad news: Satan was the King of Demons, and the powerful Eighteen Demon Battle Gods were formed from fragments of her body, which explained why she could absorb and use their abilities.
No wonder the Demon Battle Gods kept trying to enter Earth Land for thousands of years—they were looking for their mother... What a bunch of filial children.
However, their mother was currently possessing Mira.
"Besides the Demon Black Abyss, there was once divine power coveting our world as well. This truly surprises me."
Roubaul wore a worried expression but quickly regained his composure.
"The gods haven't appeared for a very, very long time. Severely weakened, they should be powerless to reclaim our world."
Noah strongly agreed with this assessment. After arriving in Earth Land, he'd read numerous books, and gods mostly appeared only in storybooks, often with very generic names.
Only one Lost Magic—God Slayer Magic—was directly related to gods.
But now, countless years later with gods in hiding, God Slayer Magic wasn't particularly important. Demons, at least, had a resurgence under the Black Wizard, ensuring that Devil Slayer Magic's mission never ceased.
Returning the journal to the village chief, its contents were merely a clarifying legend for Noah.
As for gods and demons, Noah didn't care.
Taking back the heirloom journal, the village chief laboriously moved two boxes from under the coffee table. "Old sir, young man, thank you for everything you've done. I've prepared two humble gifts—please don't refuse."
Noah and Roubaul didn't expect much from the village chief's thanks. After all, this small village's poverty was evident from its living conditions.
But out of respect, Noah still accepted the gift. It probably wasn't anything valuable anyway—the thought was what mattered.
However, the moment he opened the box, a golden light nearly blinded Noah.
It was a box full of gold!
Roubaul's expression was as stunned as Noah's. The gift he received was also a heavy box of gold, estimated to be worth several million Jewels.
Noah completely lost his composure, looking at the village chief in disbelief. He straightened up and slammed his hands on the coffee table. "You call these humble gifts?!"
The village chief was startled by Noah's sudden outburst and replied nervously, "Yes, these two boxes of gold are only two months' income for our village. They are indeed humble gifts."
An income of several million a month—is that even human language?
It turned out that Galuna Island had special Moonlight Ore, which was extremely valuable. The extracted ore was entirely bought by the Magic Council.
While the Magic Council was incompetent at many things, they were genuinely wealthy and wouldn't resort to coercion. They even helped the formerly demonized islanders hide their condition.
Because they were eroded by demonic aura, the islanders rarely left Galuna Island and naturally couldn't spend their money. So, through the Council, they converted all their earnings into hard currency like gold.
Earlier, I didn't care about the gift, but now I'm the clown.
"Oh, and I see that blonde girl seems to be a Celestial Spirit Mage. I'll give her this little trinket I collected."
The village chief, unaware of his humblebragging, turned and took a ring of keys from a drawer, picking out the only golden key among several silver ones.
Looking at the Sagittarius symbol on the key, Noah was dumbfounded.
You call this a small collection?!
