David stared at the message for several seconds, unable to move. The memory of that night became clearer with every passing second. His sister had called him not once, but three times. He had been in the operating room that night, performing an emergency procedure, and his phone had been left with one of the nurses.
By the time he finished, there had already been several missed calls, but he had assumed his sister had simply wanted to talk to him about Rey. "David?" Liana called softly, noticing his pale face. David slowly lowered the phone and looked at her. "My sister called me that night," he said quietly. Liana stepped closer.
"Before the accident?" she asked. David nodded. "Three times. I never answered." Will's expression became serious as he remembered something. "Mr. David, I remember that night. When you came out of the operating room, you immediately tried to call her back." David closed his eyes.
