"Ho-Oh, are you looking to fight me?" Giratina turned its gaze toward Ho-Oh.

The pressure emanating from its body grew increasingly aggressive. The space around it began to destabilize, cracking open with black fissures. Through those fissures, it looked as if one could see an entirely different world.

Ho-Oh's expression turned solemn.

"Try it if you dare! If you fight me here, from this day forward I'll meddle in everything you do. If you wish to take over the Pokémon world, I will become your eternal enemy!" it responded without hesitation, facing Giratina head-on.

At the same time, atop the mountain beneath Ho-Oh, three hazy silhouettes appeared. Through them, three figures of red, blue, and yellow could clearly be seen.

They were Raikou, Entei, and Suicune—created by Ho-Oh.

Upon noticing these silhouettes, Giratina let out a scornful laugh. It didn't take them seriously. But Ho-Oh's threats did cause it some unease.

The Pokémon world had always been one of its goals. But with Arceus present, it couldn't even dare to act directly.

It could only make some preparations in the shadows, but all of them were ineffective.

If Ho-Oh also got involved in its plans, then there truly would be no hope.

But if it backed down just because of a threat...

Then it wouldn't be Giratina!

It was a being so feared that even it was afraid of itself when it lost control!

"GRAAARR!"

"Then bring it on!"

It followed no logic. With a simple flap of its spectral wings shaped like black ribbons, it flew directly toward Ho-Oh.

"SKREEEE!"

Ho-Oh's cry turned fierce, its body fully engulfed in a golden light that made it appear divine.

BOOM!

The two Pokémon collided violently in the sky.

Space shattered instantly, and the alternate dimension was completely exposed through a massive rift in the sky.

The Pokémon accompanying Cain watched the scene with complex expressions, shaken by the magnitude of the clash.

That was a power they couldn't do anything against.

Not even Kommo-o was an exception. He was also stunned.

He had thought he was already strong enough, but this battle between Ho-Oh and Giratina showed him what it really meant when they said "there's always someone stronger."

That kind of power... made the blood boil!

At the same time the battle raged in the air, the three silhouettes atop the mountain began to fully materialize.

It was evident Ho-Oh had summoned them. Perhaps at first it had used them only as a warning, with no real intention to call them. But once the fight began, there was no room left for doubt.

Raikou, Entei, and Suicune.

However, they didn't join the battle.

Instead, they positioned themselves by the spatial rifts and focused all their strength on repairing them.

Not even they could take part in a battle between Ho-Oh and Giratina. Ho-Oh hadn't brought them to fight—but to minimize the collateral damage.

"SKREEEE!"

With another powerful cry, Ho-Oh used its wings to ram into Giratina, trying to push it out of the dimension.

"If we're going to fight, then let it be outside of here!" Ho-Oh could no longer hold back its fury.

In addition to the golden radiance surrounding it, a layer of golden fire ignited on its body.

That fire resembled the one Blaziken could unleash at its highest temperature—though the true differences could only be understood by the Pokémon themselves.

Next to Cain, Blaziken watched the flames enveloping Ho-Oh with fascination, lost in thought.

Giratina resisted, but was ultimately pushed forcefully out of the space by Ho-Oh.

Seeing that both had exited the dimension, Cain began using his psychic powers to assist Slowking in repairing the spatial damage.

After all, what had happened now fully involved him.

At the very least, judging by how Ho-Oh had saved Gengar, it appeared to be reasonable. As a Pokémon aligned with order, it was more open to dialogue.

If Cain helped restore the space, it was likely Ho-Oh wouldn't look at him unfavorably afterward.

Cain levitated into the air.

While Slowking's Teleport ability was superior in range, Cain had a more refined control over spatial energy within his psychic powers.

That's why neither worked alone: Slowking channeled his psychic energy directly into Cain's body, which Cain then manipulated to repair the space.

This was one of the most useful and advanced effects a psychic could achieve after surpassing the advanced level:

The ability to exchange mental energy with their psychic-type Pokémon.

Beginner or intermediate-level psychics couldn't achieve this, as their power was too limited and they couldn't handle external energy.

At most, they could transfer some energy to their Pokémon—but in such small amounts it was practically useless.

Only an advanced-level psychic could truly exchange energy with their Pokémon.

And that was what made Sabrina so terrifying.

In a battle against Sabrina, one often wasn't just facing her Pokémon—but the synchronized combination of both.

Slowking could inject energy into Cain, although more slowly, since Cain's power level was like comparing a lake to an ocean.

As he repaired space, Cain watched the battle between Ho-Oh and Giratina unfold outside.

At that level, they no longer used conventional attacks. All their moves were completely fused with their abilities and bodies.

Cain was so focused that he didn't notice he was repairing a section of space right next to another Pokémon.

Only when he was less than a meter away did he realize.

It had a bright blue crown, white ribbons fluttering like the wind, and a blue-and-white pattern that evoked water and wind.

The avatar of the North Wind: Suicune.

Suicune's red eyes looked at Cain with curiosity.

As Ho-Oh's emissary in the Pokémon world, it had encountered many humans.

But this was the first time it had seen one using psychic powers to repair space.

Cain, upon seeing Suicune's pure and ethereal body, gave an awkward but polite smile.

After all, first impressions were crucial.

Suicune let out a soft sound and gently nodded at Cain, committing his presence and energy to memory.

A strange human.

Within his body, it could feel the aura of more than one legendary Pokémon.

Lugia, Celebi, Mew... even a barely perceptible dark energy, and a trace of the essence of the god of life.

What kind of person had come into contact with so many deities?

Suicune's curiosity only grew.
