Chapter 79 - Chapter 78: Who’s More Shameless, Right?

The Wind-Riding Skyhawk swooped down, and in the next instant, Song Jie completed his Star Orbit and unleashed a Rapid Fire Blast!

For every airstrike, the Rapid Fire Blast played a vital role—it not only allowed for multiple consecutive attacks but also reduced his magic consumption!

The crowd in the square was left stunned as one wave of dazzling Radiance after another descended from above!

Before anyone could react, countless students were blasted away by the bursts of light, dozens being instantly eliminated!

Only then did they realize that the shameless Song Jie was riding the Wind-Riding Skyhawk above them!

He had deliberately hidden himself earlier so no one had noticed him on the Skyhawk's back.

In just a blink, Song Jie had taken down another twenty opponents. The students watching from outside were completely numb!

Those still in the competition, wearing their headphones, immediately tore them off—it was unbearable to listen to anymore!

"Is this guy really at the same level as us? His strength is too freakish!" a shocked student exclaimed.

This single airstrike directly added another twenty points to the Come Hit Me team!

Now, they stood firmly in first place with fifty points—while all other teams still sat at zero!

Everyone stared at the scoreboard, feeling both disbelief and humiliation.

Could it be that Song Jie was once again going to challenge all the geniuses of Pearl Institute's Qing Campus by himself!?

In the observation room, silence filled the air.

No one had expected this kind of aerial bombardment tactic!

"You can even play like that!?" one teacher muttered in disbelief.

Another smiled and said, "This Song Jie is extraordinary."

"A real talent!"

The others nodded in agreement.

What was supposed to be a fierce team assessment had turned entirely into Song Jie's one-man show!

Even Dean Xiao looked dazed—the rules and format they'd so carefully designed had been completely broken by one student!

Professor An from Hancheng Academy laughed heartily. "Our Pearl Institute has finally produced a true genius!"

Someone said, "Didn't we draw the Imperial Capital Academy for this year's exchange competition? It's about time they witnessed Pearl Institute's strength!"

"That's right! Let Song Jie lead the way and make them taste defeat!"

Everyone in the room burst into laughter.

"Dean Xiao, I'll lead the team to the Imperial Capital Academy this time!" one professor declared.

"Old Chen, you went last year! It's my turn this year!" another argued.

More voices followed—"Dean Xiao, we'd all like to go this time!"

Dean Xiao chuckled, already knowing what these old professors were thinking.

In the past, when Pearl Institute was outmatched by the Imperial Capital Academy, no one wanted to go; it was humiliating.

But now things were different.

With Song Jie on their side, it would be Pearl Institute humiliating the Imperial Capital Academy instead!

Just imagining the looks on their rivals' faces made them all excited.

Some were even ready to pay their own way to witness it!

Dean Xiao waved his hand. "We'll discuss that later. For now, let's finish watching the competition."

Everyone nodded, but their minds were already plotting for after the match.

Meanwhile, in the competition area, the students who had rushed to the square no longer dared stand out in the open.

They all hid, afraid of another airstrike like before.

But Song Jie wasn't foolish either.

Some tactics only worked once—if used again, his enemies would prepare counters.

If they had enough Light or Earth defensive magic, his attacks would be ineffective.

And there was no way he'd use Advanced-level magic just for this assessment—it would be overkill.

So, out of "humanitarian concern," Song Jie decided to let them off temporarily.

Hovering on his Skyhawk above Pearl Square, he circled patiently, waiting for his next chance.

"Want to gather together? Not happening," Song Jie muttered, eyes narrowing.

"Damn it, this guy's always in the air! We can't move out at all!" someone cursed below.

Under a tall building, Bai Liang, Lu You, Dongfang Ming, and others huddled in frustration.

"What do we do now? Song Jie clearly doesn't want us to regroup," Lu You said bitterly.

If they couldn't counter him soon, they'd be eliminated one by one.

They knew Song Jie already had many points—if he wasn't stopped, he'd win for sure!

Bai Liang frowned. "Any Wind Element Mages here?"

"I am!"

"Me too!"

Out of ten people, two raised their hands.

"Good," Bai Liang said. "Find Intermediate Light and Earth Mages. Their defensive spells will block his attacks."

With enough Light and Earth Mages, Song Jie's bombardment would lose its edge—and they'd have a chance to counterattack!

"Got it!"

The two Wind Mages immediately sped off, disappearing in twin gusts of wind.

Bai Liang turned to the others. "Be ready. If Song Jie dares to come down, we'll blast him out of the sky!"

High above, Song Jie spotted the two Wind Mages moving quickly across the ground and frowned.

"Oh? Trying to regroup, are we?"

He wanted to strike but held back—the Wind Element was too fast to target easily.

In the observation room, the teachers exhaled in relief.

"Finally, they're starting to think," one said. "Otherwise, if Song Jie steamrolled them completely, it'd be too embarrassing."

After all, these were the most elite students in the country—if they were wiped out by one person, what would that say?

Thanks to the Wind Mages' efforts, the scattered students began gathering again.

"Finally, everyone's together. Song Jie's finished this time!" someone said.

"Yeah, now it's our turn to strike back—take him down!"

The audience watching clenched their fists, their hatred for Song Jie rekindled.

At the plaza, Bai Liang stood before a group of dozens, confidence flashing in his eyes.

He looked up at Song Jie soaring above and shouted, "Song Jie! If you've got guts, come down here!"

Song Jie smirked. "If you've got guts, come up here, and I'll fight you one-on-one!"

"What? Didn't you act all mighty just now?" someone jeered.

Song Jie replied lazily, "You're one to talk about shamelessness—ganging up on one person?"

That student snapped back, "Don't talk nonsense! Your mutated talent is your strength, and our numbers are our strength too!"

Song Jie rolled his eyes. "Oh, so it's about shamelessness? Fine then. I'm up here—can you even hit me?"

Silence.

Everyone below froze, faces stiff.

He… had a point.

If he didn't come down—how could they possibly hit him?

What now?
