"Nawaki, Dan, stop!!"
On the streets of Konoha, Tsunade was chasing after Nawaki and Dan.
With her speed, she could catch up in an instant.
But the moment she reached them, they would split apart — each running in a different direction and attacking separately.
Even if Tsunade tried to block them, she could only stop one.
If she forcibly grabbed one, the other would quickly break away.
Most importantly, she couldn't bring herself to use violence against either of them.
"I can't stop. My body's out of my control. Damn it!" Nawaki roared in frustration.
Forcing him to attack his own village was like threatening his very life.
Luckily, there weren't any people on the streets — only buildings were destroyed.
"I'm sorry, Tsunade, for causing you trouble." Dan said gently, though just as helpless. "I tried to use the Spiritual Transformation Technique to break free, but failed. This jutsu binds us too strongly."
"Once the caster gives an order, our bodies move against our will. Our mission is to keep you busy. As long as you don't approach us, we won't attack the village."
Hearing this, Tsunade hesitated, and when she stopped, so did Nawaki and Dan.
The two sides stood five meters apart. Dan looked at her with a faint smile.
"Let's leave it at this. We can't change anything. If you move, we'll strike at the village without control. So let's just stand here and talk. That seems to be the caster's intention."
Nawaki scowled. "This is bullshit. Even after death, he won't let us rest. Give me one chance and I'll beat the crap out of that caster!"
"Nawaki…" Tsunade's eyes turned red. She struggled to hold back tears.
Her brother and her lover were standing right in front of her — yet she couldn't touch them, couldn't do anything.
"It feels like so much time has passed, but Tsunade, you haven't changed. You're still the same as before," Dan said warmly, as though he could accept the situation calmly.
"I…" Tsunade wanted to confess her heart.
For years she had missed him, unable to let go. She escaped reality, drowning herself in numbness.
But when the words reached her lips, she couldn't speak them.
That love belonged to the past. Though she still thought of him, she no longer clung to it.
In her mind, images of Itsuki — and the harem chat group — appeared.
Her heart now leaned fully toward Itsuki.
Though her feelings for him were more familial, filling the void of her loneliness, that bond was stronger than any romantic memory.
Tsunade realized her only lingering regret was that Dan had died suddenly all those years ago — without a chance for her to say goodbye.
Now, after seeing him again, that weight lifted.
"Hey, sis!" Nawaki suddenly cut in curiously. "Just now, I saw a boy about my age with you. You seemed really close. Who is he? My nephew?"
Tsunade froze, then flushed red. "What nonsense! Nephew? He's not my nephew—"
"That's wrong!" Nawaki interrupted. "Don't try to fool me. Only a brother's child is called a nephew. You're my sister. That makes him my nephew. He should call me uncle!"
Dan's smiling face froze. His soul felt like it was struck by lightning.
Wait… Tsunade got married? And even had a child?
Well, he had been dead for years. It was natural she'd move on.
As long as she was happy, that was enough.
But… why did his heart ache so much? Why did he suddenly feel ready to return to the Pure Land?
At that moment, the restraints of the Impure World Reincarnation loosened around him.
Dan's soul slipped free of his filthy body, floating uncontrollably into the sky.
The Edo Tensei body crumbled into dust, leaving behind the corpse of a Sound Ninja sacrifice.
"Dan!!"
Tsunade's eyes widened — shocked — but she also felt a strange release, as though an old wound had finally healed.
Nawaki blinked. "Brother Dan, how did you do that?"
Dan tried to hold on with his Spirit Transformation, but failed. His soul was drawn toward the Pure Land.
"I'm leaving… and I won't return this time!" he said quickly. "Tsunade, seeing you live well makes me happy. Please… be happy forever…"
Then he vanished without a trace.
Nawaki frowned. "What the hell? How'd he pull that off without telling me? Never mind. I still have lots to say to my sister, so I don't plan on leaving yet."
Meanwhile, Kabuto Yakushi and Orochimaru were stunned.
The Impure World Reincarnation… broken?
No — it wasn't broken.
The soul had been purified after releasing its inner knot.
Once purified, it could never be summoned again.
A flaw in the jutsu.
Still, it was only a small incident. No one paid much attention.
Even Tsunade, who should have been most affected, felt only calm relief.
On the other side, Itsuki was following Mito and Kushina out of the village.
"Naruto… do you know Naruto?"
Kushina couldn't hold back anymore. "He's my son. Where is he? I tried to sense him, but he's not in the village!"
Itsuki had already sensed it. Sasuke was chasing Gaara. Naruto, Sakura, Pakkun, Yakumo, and Karin were all in pursuit.
"They're not in the village, but not far," Itsuki explained. He pointed ahead. "Follow that direction — Naruto's chasing Sasuke."
"Sasuke…" Kushina whispered. "That's Mikoto's second son, isn't it?"
She expanded her chakra perception — and found Naruto's chakra.
Mito was surprised. "The Nine-Tails? Your son is also the Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails?"
Kushina wanted to rush toward him — but the Edo Tensei bindings held her back. She was forced to remain, tasked only with containing Itsuki.
She sighed and nodded. "There was an incident that year. Minato and I both died. Naruto was the most suitable candidate…"
She didn't explain further — it was still a secret.
Mito lowered her eyes. "I'm sorry… that's my fault…"
"No, Mito-sama, it's not your fault!" Kushina shook her head.
Being a Jinchūriki wasn't something she regretted.
If not for that, she'd never have met Minato — and Naruto would never have been born.
She turned to Itsuki. "Your name is Itsuki, right? Please… tell me about Naruto. And what's happening right now?"
As they talked, they moved deeper into the forest.
This was the back mountain area, far from both the main gate and Gaara's path. Few people came here.
Itsuki suddenly stopped, stepping in front of them.
"That's far enough. Let's end it here."
Mito and Kushina halted as well.
The next moment, both women activated the Adamantine Sealing Chains — and launched them straight at Itsuki!
