Kai took a long, steadying breath, forced his posture to straighten, and finally offered a weary sigh. He looked toward his men, his eyes flashing with a cold authority.
"Leave us alone," Kai commanded, his voice tight with suppressed irritation.
"The only reason this boy was able to harm me was because I didn't think he would be bold enough to actually strike."
"I let my guard down for a split second. If any of you truly believe that a flimsy, broken Omega like this is capable of causing me real harm when I am prepared, then you are very mistaken. Just leave. Stand aside and give us some space."
The guards hesitated for a fraction of a second, exchanging a knowing glance, before they finally obeyed.
They stepped back, moving far enough away to be out of earshot but staying close enough to intervene if things turned truly chaotic once more. Kai waited until they were at a distance before he turned his attention back to Noah.
