Adam continued to laugh, his shoulders shaking with genuine amusement.
He leaned back against the sofa, a mocking glint in his eyes. "I just cannot believe this, Noah. Were you actually blind at that moment? How on earth does a person just fall down that hard on their own butt in the middle of a clear morning? Honestly, you are just foolishly clumsy."
Noah gritted his teeth, his face turning a deep shade of scarlet as he felt the sting of the insult. He wanted to scream, but instead, he settled for a sharp, "Shut up!"
Adam shook his head defiantly, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. "I absolutely will not shut up. In fact, I think I should go and check the surveillance cameras right now just to see exactly how you fell. I am willing to bet it is going to be the funniest thing I see all week."
Noah reached his breaking point. Without thinking, he lunged forward, closing the distance between them.
