As all her memories returned, she nearly collapsed to the floor, only to be caught by her lover. She lost consciousness due to the shortness of breath, and the trauma took a toll on her mind.
While Callum panicked, seeing his fiancée suddenly faint before him, he immediately carried her body and ran into their second-floor bedroom. He slowly laid her curvy body on the bed, wiping the sweat that continued to flow down her body with a towel.
"Edith… what's wrong with you really?" Callum tried to hold back his tears seeing his fiancée's mental state suddenly unstable.
Several minutes passed as he sat on the edge of the bed, waiting. Finally, he felt his fiancée's left hand move, causing his head to lift. Seeing those beautiful eyes slowly open brought a small sense of relief.
"Edith, what's wrong with you?"
Edith remained silent, holding her fiancé's hand tremblingly. For a moment, she looked around the room nervously, tears welling in her eyes.
"I'm scared."
