After speaking with Oswald over the phone, I returned to Adrian's side just as the ambulance and the police arrived at the scene.
Adrian stood calmly to one side while the driver handled the situation, engaging the officers in a composed discussion that left me marveling.
His posture never shifted, his expression never faltered—as though chaos was merely another routine inconvenience.
I must say, I envied him.
Every subordinate under him was top-notch and perfectly coordinated…capable of handling any task without needing his interference.
And for Adrian to step in personally, I believed it must only be for the toughest situations.
How relieving it would have been—to live a life like that.
"Let's go," Adrian said with a smirk, tugging me gently toward a sleek black car that had just pulled over.
"Who's that?" I asked, following his stride.
He glanced at me. "Aren't you late for your appointment?" he replied casually. I turned to look back at the crash scene.
