Gran frowned slightly. He had a feeling that this little girl was about to cause trouble again.
"Broly from your timeline—didn't he use the Super Dragon Balls to solve his berserk problem?"
"Yes, he did. So what are you planning?"
"Broly is so powerful. How about…"
Chronoa was practically itching to make her move.
Seeing this, Gran rolled his eyes. Even without hearing what Chronoa was about to say, he already knew exactly what she was thinking.
"Don't even think about it!"
"Why?"
Chronoa immediately sat upright.
Whis, who was sitting nearby, glanced at the two of them. He had absolutely no idea what these two were talking about.
"Broly is my little brother. When I'm not in Universe 7, Old Kai and A-Xing need Broly to protect them. Otherwise, I wouldn't have let him become a Time Patrolman in the first place."
Gran continued lounging in his beach chair without even looking at Chronoa.
Hearing this, Whis finally understood.
So after recruiting Gran as a Time Patrolman, Chronoa had now set her sights on Broly too!
"Supreme Kai of Time, you're getting a little greedy. You already have such a powerful assistant in Gran. Isn't that enough?"
Whis was beginning to have some complaints about this little girl as well. If he hadn't happened to have the sudden idea of having Broly stay with Old Kai before, Zamasu might very well have attacked Old Kai.

Chronoa could only lie back down in her beach chair. From the expression on her little face, it was obvious that she was feeling rather dejected after being rejected by both Gran and Whis.
Gran was indeed an incredibly powerful assistant.
But he was busy!
Getting him to take action even once was already so difficult. Having a Time Patrolman like him was practically the same as having none at all!
"Whis, take a look at what Kakarot is doing right now."

The scene projected above the lake changed again.
This time, the protagonist was no longer Broly, but Son Goku.
After leaving the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Goku followed Mr. Popo's guidance and asked Kami to take him to the Other World once again.
Several years ago, Goku had learned the Kaio-ken and Spirit Bomb from King Kai. Because of his relationship with King Kai, even Yemma had not stopped him from entering the Other World.
This time, Goku sought out King Kai again.
He begged King Kai to take him to the legendary Grand Kai because he wanted to learn more advanced martial arts!
Unable to withstand Goku's relentless pleas, King Kai eventually had no choice but to take the guy to Grand Kai's Planet.
"He actually went looking for Grand Kai?!"
Gran was somewhat surprised as he watched Goku's movements.
In the original story, Goku only sought out Grand Kai after Cell self-destructed.
Whis watched Goku in the projection and smiled.
"Gran, your fellow Saiyan really is quite impressive!"
"You noticed?"
"Of course. Although Son Goku is doing an excellent job of concealing his strength, his control over that power still hasn't reached the true level of a God of Destruction."
"Then if we measure it in terms of battle power, roughly how much does he have?"
"In his base form, he should have around 160 million battle power. If he transforms into Super Saiyan 2…"
"Oh?"
Gran was somewhat surprised. He turned his head toward Whis.
"You even know that Kakarot can transform into Super Saiyan 2 now?"
After the battle on Planet Namek, the Grand Elder had unlocked Goku's hidden potential.
Because of that, Goku had been able to successfully break through to Super Saiyan 2 during the following two years.
Gran had only discovered this recently when he went to Earth and met Goku.
"Wait!"
Gran stared at Whis strangely.
With a faintly amused smile, he asked, "You wouldn't happen to have been keeping an eye on Kakarot this whole time while you've been staying in the God of Destruction's Domain, would you?"
"Cough, cough…"
Whis lightly cleared his throat, pretending he hadn't heard the question.
He quickly changed the subject.
"If he transforms into Super Saiyan 2, his battle power will reach sixteen billion."
The words had barely left his mouth when Gran stared at him.
Whis: "..."
Gran eventually decided not to press Whis about his interest in Goku. After all, Goku was the protagonist of Dragon Ball in the first place, so it was perfectly normal for Whis to keep an eye on him.
"Sixteen billion battle power?"
Gran lay back in his beach chair, muttering to himself.
He knew that during the period when he had gone to eliminate Zamasu, Goku had taken Trunks and Son Gohan into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and trained there for two days.
He simply hadn't expected Goku to reach such a level after coming out.
"Not bad at all."
Gran sighed in admiration.
It was only Age 764.
Trunks had just returned to his future timeline.
At this point in the original story, Goku would probably have had only around 300 million battle power.
But thanks to the Grand Elder unlocking his potential and the unexpected opportunity to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber ahead of schedule, Goku was now vastly stronger than he had been in the original timeline.
"By the way, can he transform into Super Saiyan 3 yet?"
Gran continued watching the projection overhead.
Within the projection, Goku was being fooled around by Grand Kai just like in the anime.
Goku's power was simply too great. Grand Kai actually had no idea how he was supposed to guide Goku's training anymore.
However, although Grand Kai didn't know exactly how to teach him, the direction he gave Goku was still based on martial arts principles.
In the end, his guidance revolved around two things.
Pure power.
And one's state of mind.
These two aspects happened to be exactly what Mr. Popo had previously emphasized when guiding Goku.
"Super Saiyan 3?"
Whis studied Goku in the projection for a while before shaking his head.
"Although he spent another two years training inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, two years simply aren't enough for him to break through. He should still be one step away from reaching Super Saiyan 3."
"I see."
Gran nodded.
He wasn't particularly surprised by this.
After all, in the anime, Goku had spent another seven years training in the Other World before he was able to transform into Super Saiyan 3.
At that moment, Chronoa, who was lying beside them, licked her lips.
"Gran, what about this Son Goku? Could he…"
"No!"
Gran immediately cut her off before she could finish.
"Gran, you're so mean! I haven't even finished speaking yet!"
"Even if you don't finish, I already know what you're going to say."
"Oh? Then tell me. What was I going to say?"
"Didn't you take a liking to Son Goku too and want to recruit him as a Time Patrolman?"

After checking on Broly and Goku, Gran became interested in that rebellious Vegeta again.

After Goku, Son Gohan, and Trunks emerged from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Vegeta and his group of three entered it next.
Two days later, the three of them emerged from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and all three had received enormous increases in power.
First was Vegeta.
His base battle power had risen from 12 million to 36 million.
After transforming into Super Saiyan, he could reach 1.8 billion battle power.
That was roughly on par with Trunks!
Just like Trunks, however, Vegeta still couldn't break through to Super Saiyan 2.
Next was Nappa.
After spending two years training inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Nappa had finally managed to transform into a Super Saiyan.
His battle power had reached 500 million.
