chapter 114 part 2
Daenerys didn't wait for Illyrio's answer, continuing, "His name is Drogo, isn't it? He leads the largest Khalasar in the Dothraki Sea. It's said he has over forty thousand Dothraki warriors under his command."
Illyrio's eyes trembled, but his face remained calm as he spoke respectfully, "That is indeed the case. That lord from Westeros has gathered a great deal of information for you. I, too, have just made contact with Khal Drogo. In a while, I will meet with him personally to discuss the matter of Your Highness's marriage."
Daenerys had changed. She had become somewhat of a stranger to him.
Illyrio suddenly felt that he and Varys should not have arranged the meeting between Daenerys and Glyn.
"Every day I lived in fear, afraid of awakening the sleeping dragon's wrath in my brother, yet also terrified he would abandon me. This period of time has been very peaceful, and I have learned much through Lord Glyn. I kept thinking, you are the Magister of Pentos, how could you not realize that ten thousand soldiers are not enough to take back the Iron Throne? It wasn't until Lord Glyn bid me farewell..."
Daenerys sighed softly and continued, "Watching his departing figure, I suddenly understood everything... Parting brings pain. What if that parting was death?
Daenerys raised her glass and took a sip of Summer Red. "Will the barbarian chieftain fall in love with me, his silver-haired wife? Perhaps that isn't important.
"What's most important is that I am killed by a so-called 'usurper' at the right moment. I think it would be best if the barbarian chieftain watched me die right before his eyes. That way, it would be easier for his fury to rage to the heavens and ignite the flames of their vengeance."
Illyrio's heart skipped a beat.
Daenerys had actually guessed his plan. How did she do it?
*Is this the blood of the true dragon?* Illyrio suddenly felt a hint of danger.
Daenerys's smile was radiant. She turned to Osanna at her side and said in a calm tone, "Fill my glass."
After giving the order, Daenerys turned to Illyrio and spoke, "Magister, I have always been grateful to you for taking in my brother and me, but..."
Daenerys gripped the refilled wine glass. "I am the daughter of Aerys II, the sister of Viserys III, the Princess of Dragonstone, Daenerys Stormborn!"
As she spoke, Daenerys suddenly splashed the Summer Red from her cup into Illyrio's face.
Although her changes today had surprised him and he had begun to grow wary of this abnormality, he had never imagined that the ever-timid Daenerys would throw wine at him. Illyrio had been an assassin in his youth, but he had been living a life of pampered luxury for nearly twenty years. Coupled with the close distance, he was viciously splashed right in the face.
Borona and Osanna let out a cry of surprise and quickly brought over towels.
Illyrio wiped the wine from his face, his chest heaving as he began to pant heavily.
Staring at the seemingly unconcerned Daenerys, Illyrio casually took a towel from a handmaiden. "Daenerys, this is an outrage and an insult..."
Daenerys cut him off. "A mere insect dares to freely manipulate a true dragon. What you have awakened is my dragon's wrath. There is only one end for you: death!"
"You..."
Illyrio first felt a coldness on his neck, followed by a sharp pain in his chest.
Borona's dagger had slit Illyrio's throat, and Osanna's dagger had plunged into his chest.
The two of them struck decisively. Illyrio instinctively clutched his neck and stood for a moment before falling stiffly to the ground.
Daenerys fought to control her trembling body, forcing herself to watch the entire process of Illyrio's execution.
Illyrio lay in a pool of blood, his eyes wide open in death.
She had actually done it. She had finally done it!
As the tension in Daenerys's heart finally loosened, her body couldn't help but sway. If she hadn't managed to grab the table, she nearly would have collapsed to the floor.
Borona immediately went over to help Daenerys sit down in a chair.
Daenerys grabbed Borona with a trembling hand. "Borona, and Osanna, thank you."
Borona shook her head and said, "Your Highness, we are your guards. We await your command."
Osanna nodded vigorously in agreement.
Daenerys looked at Borona and Osanna. "Illyrio is the Magister, after all. We must leave tonight. Osanna, leave things here to Borona. You go to the Clegane Merchant House immediately and have Dik prepare a ship."
Osanna bowed her head to accept the order and strode towards the door.
Daenerys took a breath and said, "Borona, move Illyrio into the house and prepare plenty of kindling."
At that moment, Viserys's angry voice carried over.
"Who was that woman just now? Is she a new handmaiden sent by Illyrio? Why didn't she bow when she saw me?"
If this were the past, Daenerys would have been terrified upon seeing her brother angry.
But now, seeing Viserys, she felt not a trace of fear. She even felt the urge to laugh as she watched her brother's silver hair tremble while he fumed.
Daenerys said in a calm tone, "She was not a handmaiden sent by Illyrio. She is a guard given to me by Lord Glyn. They are true warriors!"
Viserys laughed, a cold smile on his face. "Guard? Warrior? I don't quite understand. My dear sister, are you trying to..."
"Ah... Is that Illyrio?"
Viserys's pupils constricted. He cried out in alarm and stumbled backward in disbelief. If not for the person behind him catching him, he would have tripped over his own feet.
Daenerys tilted her little face slightly, looking at the strange man who had appeared in the courtyard.
The stranger was quite old, around forty years of age. He wore a wool tunic, and his dark green outer coat was embroidered with a black bear standing on two feet. Although his hair was thinning, his body was still robust.
After Viserys regained his footing, he pushed the strange man away and smoothed his own hair.
Viserys muttered to himself, "My Iron Throne, my Iron Throne, my Iron Throne..."
The strange man felt Daenerys's scrutinizing gaze and looked over.
After seeing Daenerys's face clearly, the strange man was stunned for a moment.
Daenerys nodded slightly and said, "Stranger, would you please introduce yourself?"
After speaking, Daenerys gave a subtle signal to Borona with her pale violet eyes.
The strange man glanced at Borona, who was staring intently at him, took a few steps forward, placed a hand on his chest, and bowed. "Good evening, Your Highness. My name is Jorah Mormont. I come from the North of Westeros. I am a knight exiled by the current holder of the Iron Throne. His Grace, Viserys, invited me here as a guest."
"Ser Jorah, why were you exiled?"
Jorah Mormont hesitated for a moment before answering, "I secretly sold a few poachers I had caught to a slaver, violating the laws of Westeros which forbid the slave trade."
