Chapter 144 - Chapter 144: The Crown Prince Naruto

"That's right. The other three chakra types come from the Two-Tails, Five-Tails, and Eight-Tails. They're the four tailed beasts I encountered in the past. I sealed portions of their chakra, then used a Chakra Analyzer to deconstruct their chakra molecular structures and forged this ninja tool."

Uchiha Ashikaga carefully sensed the power of the four tailed beasts. Sure enough, each carried a trace of chilling, ominous aura.

"Judging by the structure of this ninja tool… are you planning to collect the chakra of all nine tailed beasts?" she asked. "And then what—merge them into one?"

Rokuro raised his thumb.

"Mom, you guessed it immediately. That's right. I intend to fuse the power of all nine tailed beasts. Only then can one reach the strongest form—the Chakra Progenitor Mode."

"The Chakra Progenitor?"

"Yes, Mom. In truth, all chakra in this world originates from a woman named Ōtsutsuki Kaguya—the biological mother of the Sage of Six Paths."

Rokuro briefly explained Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the Ten-Tails Divine Tree, and how the two brothers of the Six Paths carried out their great act of filial rebellion.

As for how he obtained this knowledge, Rokuro claimed he learned it during his research into the Six Paths' ninja tools.

Once she heard it came from the Six Paths' relics, Ashikaga accepted it without further doubt.

"So you're saying the strongest being in the ninja world wasn't the Sage of Six Paths… but his mother?!"

Listening to his mother's blunt commentary, Rokuro immediately thought of that old meme—"Rock Lee's mom's flying knife."

"You could put it that way," he said calmly.

"Using a method of genetic reversion, to become the Chakra Progenitor, one must not only gather all nine tailed beasts and merge them into the Ten-Tails, but also collect as much of the Ōtsutsuki bloodline as possible—this includes the Uchiha, Senju, Uzumaki, Kaguya Clan, the Gold and Silver Brothers, the Hyūga, and more…"

"In terms of chakra, the most critical components are Asura, Indra, the Hyūga clan, and the Hyūga branch that resides on the moon. If these four chakra lineages can be gathered—combined with the Ten-Tails—then the power of the Chakra Progenitor should be attainable."

After saying this, Rokuro looked at his mother.

"Mom, knowing all this, are you still worried about a mere Uchiha Sasuke? Even if he recreates Indra's strength, that's only half of the Sage of Six Paths' power. Compared to the Chakra Progenitor, Indra is nothing more than a side dish. There's no need to worry."

Although Ashikaga still felt that nurturing Sasuke was akin to raising a tiger that might turn on them, she also understood the principle that great rewards come only through great risk.

In the ninja world, there is no room for compromise. Once compromise begins, retreat follows retreat—until one ends up like the Uchiha clan in the original history.

The Uchiha were a clan with notoriously low emotional intelligence. Such clans could survive only by standing at the pinnacle of strength. The moment they tried to lie flat or settle for second or third place, extinction was never far behind.

"…Alright," she finally said. "But you still need to be careful. Don't teach him everything."

"I know what I'm doing. Don't worry."

While the Rokuro household was holding its discussion, Tsunade was taking action on her end.

That day, she set aside all official duties and brought Shizune with her to Naruto's home.

"This is Naruto's house?" Tsunade exclaimed. "This living environment is absolutely atrocious!"

Naruto was still at the Academy. Tsunade and Shizune entered without knocking—and nearly tripped over the clutter scattered across the floor.

When they turned on the lights, they saw piles of dirty clothes, foul-smelling socks, and half-eaten cups of instant ramen.

Anyone would believe this place was abandoned. Tsunade turned to glance out the window.

"Is Naruto's monthly allowance really that low? Why is he always eating instant noodles? Doesn't he know how to cook?"

An ANBU appeared outside the window. Though his face was hidden behind a mask, the guilt in his voice was unmistakable.

"His allowance is… barely enough to survive. But…"

"But what?"

"But all the vegetable vendors know his identity. They refuse to sell to him. Even if Naruto offers a high price, it's difficult for him to buy fresh food."

"Outrageous!" Tsunade snapped. "Bullying a minor—do these people have no shame?!"

The ANBU didn't dare respond.

After all, this situation had been orchestrated from the very beginning. The first vendor who refused to sell to Naruto had been an ANBU in disguise.

The other vendors were initially hesitant. At most, they would glare at Naruto with disgust.

But once someone took the lead—and suffered no consequences—others followed suit.

People only dare to bully those who can't fight back.

A cruel but undeniable truth.

Most of Konoha's civilians had suffered during the Nine-Tails' rampage. Some had lost family members directly or indirectly because of it. With that hatred as fuel—and no one stopping them—their actions against Naruto grew increasingly bold.

Only in the past year or two, after Naruto enrolled in the Academy and his strength improved, did commoners stop daring to attack him outright.

A few years earlier, beating Naruto had been a regular occurrence.

As for the ANBU themselves—they despised the Nine-Tails sealed within Naruto as well. They pretended not to see anything. As long as Naruto wasn't beaten to death, they wouldn't intervene.

Over time, things became exactly as they were now.

Tsunade had heard reports before—but hearing was one thing, seeing was another. Having grown up with a happy childhood herself, she could barely imagine how Naruto had survived his.

"Listen carefully," Tsunade said coldly.

"From this moment on, anyone who dares lay a hand on Naruto—or condones others doing so—will be expelled from ANBU immediately. As for the civilians, go door to door and warn them one by one. I won't pursue the past, but if anyone dares to look at Naruto with prejudice again, I'll personally see them thrown into prison. Do you understand?"

"Yes!"

The ANBU dropped to one knee, accepted the order, and vanished to relay Tsunade's command.

.......

It was a two-story villa located in the heart of Konoha—complete with a courtyard, a garden, and even a pond that could be used to raise fish or serve as a swimming pool.

By the time Naruto reached the gate, Shizune was already waiting for him there.

"Naruto, I'm here on Lady Tsunade's orders to help you move. From today onward, this will be your new home. Come in and take a look."

Shizune opened the gate and led him inside. Throughout the entire tour, Naruto remained completely dazed.

As she walked, Shizune also played the role of guide.

"The house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room, plus a recreation room and a training room. The training room is engraved with sealing formulas—cultivating chakra inside completely isolates external interference, greatly improving efficiency."

"The yard covers two thousand square meters. There's a garden and a pond—you can plant trees or vegetables, whatever you like. Oh, and since the place is rather large, someone will come to clean it weekly. You won't need to do it yourself."

Naruto scratched his head.

"Shizune-nee, I don't have money to hire people…"

Shizune rubbed his spiky hair gently.

"Don't worry. Lady Tsunade will cover the expenses. Also, your living allowance has been increased tenfold. From now on, you won't have to live such a tight life anymore."

"Ten times? Really?"

Naruto's eyes lit up. Shizune didn't bother with formalities—she directly took out a thick stack of cash and handed it to him.

Naruto accepted it with trembling hands. From childhood until now, he had never seen so much money at once—let alone owned it.

"Sigh… Naruto, this is actually all something you deserved. It's just that, for certain reasons, some people deliberately made your life difficult. But now things are different. Lady Tsunade acts openly and uprightly—she won't resort to despicable tricks anymore. By the way, you already know about your background, right?"

Naruto nodded slightly.

"Big Brother Rokuro told me. He said my father was the Fourth Hokage, and my mother was the previous Nine-Tails Jinchūriki."

Shizune had only been probing casually—she hadn't expected Rokuro to have told Naruto everything.

At that moment, she silently admired Tsunade even more. Before coming, she had asked Tsunade whether Naruto's identity should be revealed, even suggesting that they delay telling him so their gesture of giving him a house and money would carry more weight.

But Tsunade had disdained such tactics and insisted on speaking plainly.

Now it was clear—sincerity was the most effective way to move people. If they had played games, they would have been exposed immediately.

"That's right. Your father truly was the Fourth Hokage, and your mother was the previous Nine-Tails Jinchūriki. They were both great heroes of Konoha. You are the son of heroes, and you deserve the respect of the entire village. It's just that some people acted far too despicably in the past, which is why your life was so hard."

"Shizune-nee, Big Brother Rokuro taught me something," Naruto said seriously. "He said that the most reliable thing in life is oneself. Birth, background, money—they're all empty. Without strength of your own, no matter how good your background or how much money you have, you'll never earn genuine respect."

Shizune's mouth fell slightly open. She hadn't expected Rokuro to teach Naruto this way—this was practically life mentorship.

"Did your Big Brother Rokuro say anything else?"

"He said a lot. He told me my father's name was Namikaze Minato, that he wasn't born into any ninja clan—just an ordinary civilian ninja. He relied on his talent and hard work, step by step, to become Hokage. I want to follow my father's path—become a ninja through my own efforts, rise from Genin to Chūnin, then Jōnin, and eventually become Hokage!"

"I, Uzumaki Naruto, will definitely become the Hokage of Konoha someday!"

Naruto spoke his iconic declaration. Shizune, however, felt a deep sense of concern—because she could see just how important Rokuro was to Naruto.

More crucially, Rokuro wasn't doing what they had expected—he wasn't blindly vilifying the Hokage faction. Instead, he was guiding Naruto with the correct worldview and values.

This was the most troublesome thing of all. People say schemes win hearts, but in truth, the most powerful "scheme" is sincerity. Conspiracies and lies are always exposed eventually—once they collapse, everything built upon them crumbles. Sincerity, however, remains in people's hearts forever.

Of course, that only applies if the person being guided is fundamentally kind. If they were trash, that would be another matter entirely.

Naruto was clearly not trash. He possessed noble character—something Shizune had already felt during their brief interaction.

With someone like Naruto, all it took was genuine sincerity to earn his goodwill. As for helping him grow stronger—that required real ability.

Tsunade was strong, but it depended on who she was compared to. Against Rokuro, she was simply outmatched.

Shizune worried silently for Tsunade, while Naruto had already run off excitedly to explore his new home.

After settling Naruto in, Shizune returned to report to Tsunade. Upon hearing what Rokuro had told Naruto, Tsunade's expression grew grave.

"Lady Tsunade, reliable intelligence says that Uchiha Rokuro contacted Uchiha Sasuke yesterday. It seems he kept his promise to Uchiha Itachi and intends to take Sasuke as his disciple. Does that mean he's no longer interested in Uzumaki Naruto?"

Tsunade sighed.

"Konoha's tradition is one master taking three disciples. Even if he truly accepts Sasuke, that doesn't mean he'll give up on Naruto. Either way, we must do our best to take care of Naruto. Even for the sake of the Fourth Hokage, we absolutely cannot let him live the way he did before."

"I understand."

Tsunade closed a file and walked to the window, gazing at Konoha's nightscape.

"As for taking Naruto as a disciple… we'll wait until Jiraiya returns. I just hope he comes back safely. Facing an enemy with the Rinnegan—once battle begins, it's extremely dangerous."

Rokuro gave Sasuke's family three days to consider. Yet on the very next night, Jiraiya returned.

He didn't walk back on his own—he was brought back to Konoha by the toads using space-time ninjutsu.

At Konoha Hospital, when Tsunade arrived, she saw Jiraiya gravely injured and unconscious—his left arm completely gone.

Having fought alongside him countless times, Tsunade had never seen Jiraiya so badly wounded. Losing an arm—this was an injury even she couldn't fix.

"Little Tsunade, you're here… sigh… this time really was a narrow escape. The power of the Rinnegan is far beyond what we can contend with."

Fukasaku sat at Jiraiya's bedside and slowly recounted the battle.

As Tsunade listened, she treated Jiraiya. When Fukasaku finished, Jiraiya regained consciousness.

Seeing the regret and self-blame on Tsunade's face, Jiraiya forced a relaxed smile.

"As expected, with you here, I won't die. Tsunade, though I was badly injured this time, I obtained extremely important intelligence—so the trip wasn't in vain. It's just that… regarding Naruto…"

Tsunade sighed as well. She knew that in Jiraiya's current condition, there was no way he could stop Rokuro from taking Naruto as his disciple anymore.
