Chapter 237 - Chapter 236: Barrier

Hespera was surprised by Dane's keenness, but she didn't hide anything about the matter because of it.

"Indeed, this war was instigated by Ares."

But if Russia or other countries didn't have similar intentions, things wouldn't have gone so smoothly.

Ares, in fact, mostly just went with the flow.

"Then where is he now?" Dane asked.

Hespera did not answer directly: "He will naturally appear when he is supposed to."

She waved her hand, and an even more massive power of the Underworld surged forth, bringing more Kryptonian Soldiers around her.

They were all wearing Greek-style armor, with Y-shaped faces exposed on their helmets, revealing their murderous eyes and mouths that seemed to thirst for blood.

"I have many Soldiers like this, but I wonder how many you can handle?"

So confident?

Dane even laughed. You probably don't know how much Kryptonite I have in my warehouse?

Kryptonite is unsaleable, please help us.

The newly arrived Kryptonians didn't understand the situation and charged directly at Dane with the spirit of a newborn calf unafraid of a tiger.

To be fair, the combat skills of these Kryptonians were quite good, indicating that Hades had not wasted their potential after receiving them, and had put them through formal Military training.

When these Kryptonians realized they couldn't defeat Dane one-on-one, they began to cooperate and fight him as a team.

As soon as Dane knocked one of them away, new Soldiers immediately filled the void, trying to overwhelm him.

And Teth-Adam was also lurking around them, attacking him with magic from time to time.

Dane was annoyed by their entanglement and had to increase his output. The divine power within him surged even more fiercely, and the destructive power of the electric arcs on his body became stronger.

When a Kryptonian flew up again, attempting to control him, Dane mercilessly threw a punch, and a burst of sound erupted as his fist connected with its face.

The Kryptonian's head snapped sideways, a 'crack' sound came from its neck, and it instantly ceased to breathe.

Teth-Adam's expression changed, and he quickly left the battlefield, trying to get away from there.

But Dane extended his palm towards him, and lightning transformed into a giant hand that shot out, instantly grabbing him.

The crackling lightning on Adam's body seemed to be solid as Dane pulled, immediately dragging Adam back.

"I gave you a chance, Adam, but you don't seem to have taken it."

Adam was completely enveloped in lightning. The "Sin" within him feared the power of the lightning, making him utterly unable to move.

Dane grabbed his neck and flung him forcefully, slamming him into the ground.

The surrounding Kryptonians seemed to still be stirring. He unleashed his double Superspeed, and before they could even react, he grabbed them by the ankles, one in each hand.

Then he pulled these two Kryptonians and plummeted from the sky, crashing deep into the ground, leaving these two Soldiers disoriented.

He went up and stomped on each of their necks, breaking them.

Teth-Adam struggled to get up from the pit. He was no longer the man of steel, and that blow had injured him quite severely.

However, before he could stand up again, Dane struck him on the back of the head. The blow was very powerful, and Adam immediately fell unconscious.

Through contact, Dane had already discovered that there was still the power of Sin within him. In order to trap this Sin in his body, he chose not to kill him, but to seal his magic, just like the other two goddesses.

But before Dane could make another move, he suddenly felt a powerful force gathering above his head. He looked up and saw that Hespera was using the power of nature to create a hemispherical dome barrier.

He looked closely and was surprised to find that Hespera's appearance had become even younger than before. He thought for a moment and realized that she must have eaten the golden apple.

The golden apple was a fruit from the Tree of Life, containing extremely vast life energy. If a human ate it, they would die suddenly due to an inability to absorb such potency.

But if a god ate it, it could prolong their life. After losing the sustenance of faith, the golden apple became a precious non-renewable resource for gods.

Hespera had originally hoped to plant it in the God Realm, or in the human World under her rule.

But with Shazam present, her wish was unlikely to be fulfilled, so Hespera steeled her heart and simply ate the golden apple directly, gaining back some lifespan for herself.

The effect was very good, and after her vitality was replenished, the power of nature within her flowed even more smoothly.

This gave her ample power to activate this barrier magic, a spell that the Wizard Shazam had used to seal the Old Gods' domain back in the day.

Once the magic was complete, Shazam or anyone else would no longer be able to leave through teleportation magic.

Moreover, the barrier would absorb the magic of everyone inside to sustain itself, until the people inside were drained of their last bit of magic.

By the time Dane looked up, Hespera had just completed the magic.

Teth-Adam's role was evident here: to distract Shazam, and he had performed his task very well.

As for "greed"? What did that have to do with her?

"Dane, my strength is draining!"

Zatanna quickly explained the situation to Dane, but thankfully, her emotions were stable.

"Mine too, this is insane!"

Constantine fiercely threw his cigarette butt to the ground and crushed it with his foot.

Dane tentatively threw a lightning bolt at the barrier; it hit the barrier and bounced off, randomly landing on other buildings.

His divine power was so immense that he couldn't feel if his strength was draining at all.

"How are the other battlefields?"

Diana spoke in the channel, "Those Kryptonians have mostly been dealt with!"

Dane could tell she was a little excited; it had been a long time since she'd encountered enemies so satisfying to fight.

Battling Kryptonians allowed her to fully display the Amazons' combat techniques, and she was also the superhero who had killed the most enemies present.

If it weren't for Dane setting up the dream here, Clark would have had something to say by now.

After dealing with all the Kryptonians, all members of the Justice League gathered together.

"If I'm not mistaken, that barrier is meant to trap us, right?"

Hal glanced at the sky; a blue dome enveloped the entire Metropolis.

"I wonder if we can use the lantern ring's teleportation ability to get out."

"You can try."

Hal tried immediately, raising his lantern ring and firing a wormhole tunnel forward as usual, but the wormhole collapsed after only a microsecond.

"Looks like it's not going to work," Hal shook his head and lowered his arm.

Dane was thoughtful. From this perspective, Hespera's natural power covered a wide range, and a wormhole itself could be considered a way of utilizing natural power.

"Diana, do you feel your strength draining?"

Diana shook her head at the question; she felt nothing.

"Hal, Clark, what about you two?"

Both of them shook their heads at Dane's question. Dane understood; it seemed it wasn't that he couldn't feel it, but that this barrier couldn't absorb energy at the "divine power" level.

Yes, Superman's power was also judged to be "divine power" level. This was judged by energy level, not by attribute.

"I think I might be able to try."

Clark looked at the barrier in the sky, eager to try.

Dane actually wanted to see as well. Shazam in the movie couldn't break it, so what about Superman?

Clark stood still and leaped, his body ascending like a Rocket. The commotion of his takeoff was as loud as a Rocket's, kicking up a lot of dust.

Dane waved his hand, sweeping away the dust, and looked up with everyone else.

At Clark's speed, he almost instantly rushed to the barrier.

His power was so immense that the barrier bulged outwards for a long stretch, seemingly about to shatter.

But unfortunately, it didn't shatter in the end; instead, it bounced Clark back.

He was initially unconvinced and tried a few more times before giving up and returning to the ground.

"Just a little short," Clark said with a hint of regret.

Yes, just a little short. If Clark had been given more space to accelerate, he might have been able to smash this shell with brute force.

"We don't have that much time," Batman interjected.

He emphasized, "That woman has already left. Aren't you curious where she went?"

Hal said, "He's right. I think to solve this incident, that woman should be the key, right?"

Actually, Dane could have directly let Cortana use the power of the dream to redefine this barrier, but he also wanted to test his own strength, so he chose a more direct method.

Like Clark, he launched himself upwards, instantly reaching the dome under the effect of Speed Force. He extended his right index finger, and a dense power of thunder condensed on that finger, connecting with the barrier and pulling out a conical "bubble."

Under the effect of Speed Force, Dane continued to push forward. Suddenly, Dane heard a "pop" sound in his ear.

The barrier shattered!
