Cherreads

Chapter 64 - Cap.58 - Amulets

In a secluded and uninhabited area of the land of sound, Jugo stood atop a hill, gazing at the clear sky with interest.

He had been studying ice release diligently lately and had come across an interesting jutsu.

Forbidden Jutsu - Eternal Winter.

Jugo began making hand signs, he didn't need hand seals to use Ice Release, but it was the first time he had cast this jutsu, so he needed to familiarize himself with its use first to understand how to use it without seals later.

The jutsu had nearly 80 hand seals, Jugo performed it slowly, studying the movement within his chakra network. He had to restart several times until, half an hour later, he finally completed the seals effectively.

The next moment, a large amount of chakra leaked from him, but it didn't spread around him, instead, the whitish chakra was shot straight upwards.

All the water vapor in the lowest layer of the atmosphere began to condense, the sunny day began to darken as large, heavy clouds began to form and the abrupt temperature change led to the formation of extremely strong winds.

It took about a minute for the place to become even darker than it had been at night, at that moment, white flakes began to fall, starting gently, but quickly large amounts of snow and hail began to fall.

Strong winds created an extreme snowstorm.

An average person there would barely be able to see anything in front of them as the snowstorm rapidly intensified.

The bone-chilling extreme cold continued to spread.

Jugo simply stood there, observing with curiosity as his body was constantly covered in snow, but as soon as he touched it, the snow seemed to evaporate.

Jugo walked across the layer of snow covering the ground, but his steps left no footprints.

The extreme environment, which would make even ninjas run, was like walking on a plain.

This jutsu nearly exhausted his chakra, but the effects... fighting in such an environment was extremely beneficial for a ninja of the Yuki clan.

According to records, several ninjas needed to work together to launch this jutsu on this scale, but he accomplished it alone.

Except for dry environments like the desert, this jutsu could still be very useful and Jugo was very pleased.

Feeling his chakra recover considerably, he began to make hand seals again.

His chakra was once again projected into the sky, touching the heavy clouds.

The next moment, a few hundred meters ahead of Jugo, a huge figure emerged from the sky.

A dragon made entirely of ice, Jugo based it on Sasuke's Kirin, the figure let out a roar as it charged towards a nearby hill, the next moment a roar that would shatter glass ten kilometers away rang out.

Jugo's ears bled, but they quickly healed. The strong wind almost threw him away, but he held onto the ground with chakra.

At the impact site, a large crater was formed. Jugo smiled slightly, he was increasingly enjoying the release of the ice.

Testing more of his ice jutsus, Jugo finally left when the snowstorm passed. It was weather he had caused himself, so it wouldn't last long. Even so, it took several hours for the storm to stop, leaving behind heavy clouds and a terrain covered in several meters of snow.

Jugo returned to the village of sound, completely unaware of any residual problems his little adventure might have caused. He only hoped he hadn't affected the crops of the land of sound, he had chosen an extremely remote location for that reason, but when you tamper with the weather, various factors can lead to different chain reactions.

In any case, Jugo finally returned to the village, three weeks had passed since he had taken over the Village Hidden in the Sound, now he was working with Orochimaru on creating amulets to ward off the werewolf curse.

All the metal shinsei he sacrificed to the Tenebrous World seemed to emit a concentrated aura of negativity.

This made it a material full of spirituality and perfect for creating artifacts, at least in the negative aspect of things. It would be difficult to create a purification item with a material so laden with darkness.

Of course, the problem was that he wasn't a craftsman and creating items the usual way wouldn't work, but amulets weren't the best choice either, they were used once and then destroyed, which didn't help his goal of creating a permanent solution.

He hoped that Karin could help him in the future to create a permanent item using seals, but that was still a long way off for the girl now. Orochimaru also didn't have the use of his hands right now, even if he did, he lacked the skill for it.

Jugo considered several places where he could find what he wanted, the swords of the swordsmen of the mist and the Takumi village (Village of Artisans) could both be very useful in this regard.

But for now, he would content himself with creating amulets, the goal was clearly something that would weaken the curse or even nullify it, at least for one night.

Thus, on the moonlit night, on the night of the full moon, while the souls of his werewolves remained in the Tenebrous World, he felt a tremendous hunger for souls within him, but he used Bind with all his might, tightening the seal within himself.

Kabuto had prepared an extremely potent painkiller for him, but it wouldn't last long, he only had a few hours.

First the symbol, there wasn't a symbol behind his throne, but he already had the symbol of the chained goat's head attached to him, or at least he hoped so.

But he still changed the symbol in the end, he hoped to use the aspect of the chained path, so he drew a chained black arm on the candles he would use for the ritual. This better suited the amulet's purpose.

The chained arm represents both curse and bind.

The amulet's material? Metal imbued with the aura of the Tenebrous World, bathed in Jugo's blood. He hoped to use his blood as a means of connection between himself and his werewolves, and because of the curse on that body, his blood carries tremendous spirituality.

Even though both materials were far from reaching the level of an angel, achieving the power of a Sequence 4 should be possible, after all the aura of the Tenebrous World would still be a catalyst, even if Jugo himself didn't have much control over the Tenebrous World, it was still enough to extract a little more through the ritual.

He had already tried to guess the success of this ritual, but he couldn't guess precisely, at most, he could say that it would succeed in creating an amulet, not its effects.

He would really like to follow in the footsteps of the Lord of the Mysteries at times like these.

But in any case, Jugo continued to prepare his ritual.

Using his own blood as ink, he took a sheet of metal alloy, mostly iron and began to draw the symbol of the chained arm. The blood began to emit a cold and ominous aura soon after he finished drawing.

Then he picked up some simple chains made from metal bathed in the aura of the Tenebrous World, he thought the symbolism of the chain would aid the purpose of the ritual.

Each chain had a small pendant made of shinsei metal in the shape of a full moon.

There were 30 necklaces there, he quickly placed the necklaces on the metal sheet. It was a dualistic ritual. Then there were two candles, one for him and another representing the deity in question. As soon as they were lit, the pungent smell of sulfur was felt. The candles were made with various materials, such as sulfur and iron powder, which could be linked to the Tenebrous World.

The next moment he picked up a silver dagger bathed in the aura of the Tenebrous World and created a wall of spirituality, it was the first time he had done this, the knowledge in question only came when he advanced towards Wraith.

Then he began to pray, this time using Hermes. - Lord of Abyss, Chained Curse, Father of Devils.

Yes, he had learned Hermes, a language that originated from nature, he acquired specific knowledge after situating himself within the knowledge received upon advancing to Wraith. It wasn't very difficult to learn, perhaps he himself was attuned to this language as a Beyonder.

The English that barely worked before has now been set aside and Hermes has taken its place, leaving Jugo much more satisfied with the results.

- I pray for you.

- I pray that you give me strength.

— Give me strength to complete the amulet that will protect against the curse of the full moon.

— The blood of the chained man, please transfer your strength to my amulet…

— Oh lotus flower, a flower that symbolizes restraint, please grant your powers to my charm…

...

As soon as the ritual was completed, Jugo felt a pull. He quickly entered the Tenebrous World with only his soul and touched the star that represented him, using the ritual as a means to send power to it. Soon after, he returned to his body. He realized that a dark power began to envelop him, the ambient temperature continued to drop rapidly and the night around him seemed darker. Jugo felt a pull, he felt a tremendous power descending upon him, almost to the point of exploding.

The next moment, he picked up a silver carving knife as knowledge flowed through his mind, his hands moving as fast as his thoughts shifted.

He continued to carve rune after rune onto the amulet pendants, his hands moving extremely fast, but with surgical precision, it took him almost half an hour to finish all 30 amulets.

The eerie purple light quickly subsided as the last amulet was engraved, the small moon seemed to have micro-symbols all over it, but the more the energy faded, the more ordinary the amulet appeared, as if the writing had disappeared.

Jugo took a deep breath as he felt the ritual come to an end.

He defined the amulet's activation word as the word "Chain" in Hermes, the amulet's power could be maintained for at least two months. The short time frame is due to the use of inferior materials, but there wasn't much he could do about it for the time being, as for the effect...

The next moment, Jugo picked up one of the amulets and sent chakra into it, before chanting in Hermes. - Chain.

The next moment, a wave of dark energy flashed over Jugo's body. Looking up, directly at the moon, he smiled, the craving for souls had vanished.

Each amulet would last long enough for one night, that was enough. He felt the ritual was a great success. He looked at the shards left after using the amulet. The amulet itself broke as soon as it was used, but it didn't matter, it was good enough.

By the next full moon, he would be prepared to do much more.
