The afternoon light is soft and golden, spilling across the living room floor. I'm standing in the middle of it, feeling… untethered.
It's hard to explain, but I almost feel like a new person. I have never experienced anything like that in my life. It felt like I was floating. I remember the dots peppering my vision, the world narrowing to just the feeling of his body and the lack of air.
Just when I thought I was going to slip away completely, he'd let go, and everything—the pleasure, the sensation, the world—would come crashing back in a dizzying, overwhelming wave.
Every inch of my body was tingling then. It was like the best high you could reach without actually being on drugs.
Even now, hours later, my body still lightly tingles. As if a fire that can't be put out still lingers just beneath my skin.
I also completely missed my seminar at the university today. The thought is a distant, unimportant thing, like remembering a chore from a different lifetime.
