So, in my view, even though Michael previously said that he was the one who could make the final decision on the issue of his marriage, I doubt that. It might just be the hot-headedness of the youth, but when it really comes to the matter, he would have to give in eventually.
If the family makes the final decision on the issue, it would be almost impossible for him to be able to overturn that decision.
