(Tell me if you want any love interest, I don't know what to do with that so I'll take suggestions.)
With the ending of the conversation, I got back to the room I used earlier and decided to get to know this world. We're in 2006, I suppose. Cap is still in ice, Tony is having his fun. I know S.H.I.E.L.D. exists—Beast mentioned them earlier. The mutants are not known by the public, but sightings of a man controlling metal or someone controlling fire… so many sightings. These people—how would they be hiding without a telepath? They're trash at hiding, no nuance. Anyone with a working brain would know about them if not for S.H.I.E.L.D., who hides any track they make, and telepathic powers who just erase minds.
Someone knocked on my door. "Come in." Kitty walks in. "We wanted to know more about you and us in your world," followed by Rogue. "Yeah, of course, ask away, but like I said, I did not know you personally." They sat down on the bed while I continued to gather information at the desk on the laptop.
"Okay, so what was the date in your world?" Kitty asks."I don't really know. The invasion started in 2020 and it's been 5 years, but I don't know the exact date. I spend most of my time in what I call Flash Time. It's like, you know, the Time Chamber of Dragon Ball, but always and everywhere," I responded."What's Dragon Ball?" Kitty asks."It's a manga," Rogue responded quickly and a bit offended. With that, me and Kitty stared at her. Realizing what she said, she turned bright red. She was blushing."Be careful, your nerdy side is coming out," Kitty said, not missing it and laughing."Shut up."
"It's really another time period. In my time everyone has watched at least one anime." Realizing that I had traveled not just to another universe but also another period. The laptop is advanced enough because we are in the X-Mansion and they have the most advanced technology. 'Thank you, Beast,' but the world is in 2006… just didn't feel it.
"Wait, you said you were from 2020, so what stocks should I invest in?" Kitty asked me excitedly."You're right, I'm in the past. Come here, I'll show you what to buy while I buy them myself.""With what money? Both of you are broke, except if you brought money with you from your world," Rogue said, breaking our dreams and laughing at us."Now who's laughing? Hahaha," pushing us deeper into despair."Fuck you!" Kitty screamed, pouting."Never mind. Do you know who I'll get with?" Kitty asked, changing the subject."You do realize that I'm from another universe, not the future. And if my future looks like yours, I wish you guys good luck," I said, a bit shocked at the speed at which she changed the subject and evading the fact that I don't really know them.
"About that, what will you do now?" Rogue asked."I don't know. I'll probably go back to my universe when I find a way to heal the bodies of zombies and cure them, but for now I'll figure something out." Thinking about my realm, 'Maybe I should just stay in it and travel through the multiverse. Wait, I forgot—was there any responsibility as the Speed Force? Sooner or later I'll have to contact the Speed Force so she trains me or at least tells me what I should do.'
"I think you can stay here in the Mansion if you want. You could join the X-Men," Kitty says.Thinking about it: should I? For now at least, between choice A, I could probably steal everything I need—but I mean, just living on stealing is a bit, you know… and choice B, having everything given to me but from time to time helping people and saving the world.
"We'll see. So you came here to ask questions but you only asked about stocks and your future relationship.""Yes, exactly," Kitty says with the most relaxed face I've ever seen. It's almost like there is nothing behind those eyes."No, I came here because I'd like to see what you can do in the Danger Room," Rogue says."Yeah sure, let's go to the Danger Room. I've been meaning to train a bit."
[2 hours later]
(Rogue POV)
It's been, what, 2 hours since he started and he has not slowed down since the beginning. He's been running at what I assume to be full speed, destroying targets and enemies left and right. But while I assume, I can just see the lightning. Kitty left to get some people to see what I'm seeing. This guy at the max difficulty is just obliterating everything we throw at him. Me and Kitty had our fun but now… now this guy is terrifying. Just thinking about when me, Logan, and Scott were ready to fight him, but he would have destroyed us in less than a second.
"Hey Rogue, how long has he been doing that for?" Beast came into the control room as he started to look at the ratings."I think 1h30. At the start we put it in easy but after some time we just increased the level and then we got to the last level and he is not stopping."
"Okay, let's see for how long he can keep this up," Beast says, interested.
[1 hour later]
(Ethan POV)
This is getting boring. How long have I been fighting these holograms? This is easy."Okay guys, can you stop the Danger Room? I'm a bit bored.""Yeah sure, come out and get up here, I want to check if everything's good," Beast responded. How long ago did he arrive?"Thank you." Coming out of the Danger Room, seeing the crowd waiting for me—many new faces, mostly children and teenagers."You guys were watching me train?" Some kids nodded. "Okay." Getting up to the medbay where Beast, Rogue, and Kitty wait for me.
"Ethan, lose the shirt, let's do a check-up." Losing the shirt and sitting on the bed."So how are you?" asked Beast."I'm good. Nothing in there touched me. I'm too fast.""Do you know how fast you were moving?" Kitty asked excitedly."You were going above Mach 10 and you did not slow down, like ever, for more than 2 hours, and you don't seem tired or injured," she said, cutting me off and looking at me with stars in her eyes."Yeah, when traveling to another universe I got a bit of a power boost and I have a direct connection to a being that represents motion, so moving fast is kinda my thing."
"Your heartbeat is so fast, but I mean what isn't in you?" Beast says."Don't worry, there are things where I can take my time," wiggling my eyebrows joking. Thank you, Kitty, for laughing at that joke.
With Beast finishing his check-up, I looked at the hour. It's 8 p.m. I decided to go take a bit of a nap. It's been a while since I slept in a real bed without watching over my shoulder. It's the best sleep I ever had.
