Chapter 348: Learning to Create Soul Tools, Engraving the Core Formation
"Whoa, whoa, what the hell!!!"
"Nine-ringed Title Douluo!!!!!!"
"This... How is this possible? Such a young boy is actually a Title Douluo!"
Master Decheng was so terrified that he collapsed onto the floor, his eyes wide open, mouth agape, full of fear and dread. He shrank into the corner of the room, trembling uncontrollably.
He almost wet himself from the shock.
Although the Dayue Continent possessed advanced soul tool technology, the strength of soul masters there was far weaker compared to that of Douluo Continent. Perhaps it was because they had focused so much on soul tools and soul engineers, which had led to fewer Title Douluo being born.
At present, the number of Title Douluo on the Dayue Continent was likely no more than ten!
Each of them was one of the top experts on Dayue Continent, with an extremely high status. So, when Master Decheng saw Ye Wen was a nine-ring Title Douluo, he was naturally stunned and shocked.
What was even more shocking was that Ye Wen looked to be no older than twenty!
Ye Wen, with a harmless smile, said, "Is there room for negotiation, Master Decheng?"
"Of course! Absolutely! I'll teach you right away!" Master Decheng's anxiety vanished, but he knew that if he didn't agree, the young man in front of him could easily make his life miserable.
"That's better. Come on, Master Decheng, get up," Ye Wen said as he withdrew his martial soul and strength and helped Master Decheng to his feet.
Master Decheng let out a deep sigh of relief. After regaining his composure, he suddenly thought that being able to teach a Title Douluo might actually be a great honor.
However, he was also confused. There were only about ten Title Douluo on the Dayue Continent, and every single one of them was well-known. He had heard of and seen them. But this Title Douluo in front of him? He had never heard of him before!
Could he be an expert living in seclusion?
And why would such a powerful Title Douluo, with a strong identity, status, and background, want to come and learn from a mere 3rd rank soul engineer like him?
Despite his many questions, he dared not ask further. "Sir, if you want to become a soul engineer, at the very least, you must understand the forging techniques, right?"
"Do you know how to forge?"
Ye Wen waved his hand. "Just teach us three key points: First, the core formation; second, how to carve the core formation; and third, how to combine the core formation with the forged weapons to create a soul tool."
At this point, both Ye Wen and Qian Renxue were only confused about these issues. Everything else was not a problem.
"Okay, I'll teach you, just follow me," Master Decheng said.
Master Decheng began to impart his years of experience, knowledge, and technical skills without reservation, paying close attention as he taught Ye Wen and Qian Renxue, step by step.
Mastering the art of soul tools was not something that could be learned in a short time.
Ye Wen and Qian Renxue immersed themselves completely in their study, determined to learn the skill as quickly as possible.
They quickly understood the principles of soul tools, as well as the necessary materials, processes, and the core formations required for the tools.
All of this was essentially theoretical knowledge. As long as they read through it, anyone could understand it. The real difficulty lay in carving the core formation. This was the key obstacle preventing a soul master from becoming a soul engineer.
Over the next few days, Ye Wen and Qian Renxue began practicing the art of carving the core formation.
They rented a hotel room, a two-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and a bathroom, for convenience so that they could share their thoughts and experiences about soul tools and discuss them together in the evenings.
Soon, they began practicing carving the core formation for themselves.
They compressed their soul power into a fine, sharp needle and began engraving the formation on the specialized metal sheets on the table.
The process was slow and required great care and focus. Clearly, girls were more meticulous, as Qian Renxue's speed at carving the core formation was much faster than Ye Wen's.
But, without a doubt, their first attempts at engraving ended in failure. One failure after another. They kept trying, starting from morning until late at night, continuing to practice in their hotel room.
After all, as gods, they didn't need sleep and wouldn't feel tired, though they still maintained the habit of sleeping. Sometimes, sleep was just a routine.
Spending nearly 24 hours together every day, their relationship began to evolve, and their bond deepened during this time of close companionship.
Unconsciously, a week passed since they started learning about soul tools.
Then, one day, Qian Renxue finally succeeded. She had fully engraved the core formation of a level 1 soul tool!
"I did it, Ye Wen! I succeeded!" Qian Renxue was overjoyed, excitedly linking her arm with Ye Wen's and shaking it happily.
Though it was just linking arms, it was the most intimate physical contact they had ever shared.
This made Ye Wen's heart flutter as he silently looked at Qian Renxue's sincere, heartfelt smile.
Qian Renxue then looked up at Ye Wen, realizing her actions might have been a bit too forward.
But in that brief moment of eye contact, her heart raced unexpectedly, and she felt a strange sensation, like a little deer jumping inside her chest.
Yes, her heart was confused.
She had to admit that she did feel something for Ye Wen, but she didn't think it was love, not yet.
In reality, she hadn't fully realized her true feelings, from leaving Douluo Continent to coming to Dayue Continent and learning about soul tools together.
Her face flushed red, and she shyly pulled back her arm from Ye Wen's.
The atmosphere became somewhat awkward.
"Heh, congratulations! You managed to carve the level 1 core formation so quickly," Ye Wen said with an awkward smile.
However, the awkwardness was quickly broken by Master Decheng, who exclaimed, "What! You! You actually succeeded in carving the level 1 core formation?!"
"Yes! Take a look, see if there's anything wrong," Qian Renxue said.
