Chapter 238 - Chapter 238 I'm Not the Villain in the Comic Strip

When Clark recounted the future he had seen in his dream, Eric's eyebrows twitched slightly.

Had Clark already known the future Eric saw at Ms. Nancy's divination?

"If I were to become an enemy of the world, Clark, what would you do?" Eric asked Clark.

"I don't know," Clark said, looking at the beautiful smiling face of the girl he loved on the tombstone.

"If I didn't know the taste of loss before, now I do."

Clark's eyes gradually became hazy, "It turns out some pain can really make a person unable to stand up!"

The gloomy sky gradually became covered by a black firmament.

Raindrops fell from the sky, first tiny droplets, then the drops grew larger, quickly turning into a dense downpour.

The 'whoosh' of the heavy rain covered the entire cemetery.

Eric watched Clark squatting down to caress the tombstone, then turned and left.

He could not comfort, nor could he alleviate Clark's pain.

What Clark needed most right now was an environment for himself alone.

Eric walked out along the path.

The rain grew heavier, and the entire world soon merged into a dense sheet.

Raindrops splashed onto the ground, kicking up countless splashes of water and mud, which splattered onto Eric's trousers.

The originally soft ground became even muddier.

Eric let the rain fall on him, soaking his black trench coat.

Walking out of the cemetery, a figure dressed in black stood there holding an umbrella.

Lana stood outside the cemetery holding an umbrella, and after seeing Eric come out, she immediately walked a few steps forward, holding the umbrella to shield Eric from the heavy rain.

When she came to the cemetery, she met Eric on the way, so the two came together.

"Clark is still inside, isn't he?" Lana asked Eric in a low voice.

"Mm."

"I hope he can get through this soon," Lana said softly, stepping on the ground where water was constantly splashing.

"Why aren't you going in?" Eric asked her.

"I..." Lana hesitated for a moment, then said, "My parents' graves are in there. Unless I have something to tell them, I generally don't come to the cemetery. All the past and Death have ended, so I will move forward with my parents' wishes."

Eric looked at Lana, who was bowing her head, and said, "So you fear Death?"

"No," Lana smiled at Eric, "If my Death brings warmth to others, rather than anger and sorrow, I will be very happy."

"Is that so..." Eric nodded, then looked back at Clark, who was soaked but still accompanying Alicia in the cemetery.

"Let's go!"

Night, Metropolis.

Eric stood in front of a bar, looking at the constantly flashing words on the neon lights, his eyes sharp as swords.

He pushed open the bar door and walked in.

The hot atmosphere of the bar instantly enveloped him.

Music and the clamor of people continuously erupted.

Eric, wearing the black trench coat he had worn during the day, stood in front of the dance floor, watching the men and women dancing under the stimulation of music and alcohol.

With a cold look in his eyes, he walked straight to the bar counter.

He sat at the bar counter and tossed a dollar bill to the bartender.

The bartender, who was wiping glasses, saw the "Franklin" Eric threw over, a glint flashed in his eyes, and he immediately pocketed the money.

"What can I get for you, sir?" the bartender asked Eric.

"Whiskey!" Eric told him, "The spiciest kind."

"Alright, just a moment!" The bartender glanced at the overly young Eric, then said, "Please wait a moment."

"No! No need!" Eric shook his head, and the next second, a glass of whiskey appeared in his hand.

"This..." The bartender looked at the whiskey in his hand in surprise, showing an extremely shocked expression.

How did he do that?

A big question mark flashed above the bartender's head.

"If I tell you, then you need to tell me one thing!" Eric said calmly after taking a sip of whiskey.

"What?" The bartender's curiosity was piqued by Eric.

"Where is Ashley Gaines?" Eric asked him.

"You!" The bartender was completely stunned by Eric's words.

Ashley Gaines was the leader of the Metropolis gang, the "Blood Gang," and also the owner of this bar.

The bartender didn't expect the other party to directly say his boss's name.

In his shock, he was about to call for help, but unexpectedly he was hit by a huge force, his chest immediately hurt so much he couldn't breathe, and he immediately fell backward.

With a bang, he crashed heavily into the liquor cabinet.

Liquor and glasses all crashed down.

Seeing trouble, the bouncers responsible for the bar's security immediately rushed towards Eric.

However, before they could get close, they were blasted away by Heat Vision.

His chest was directly pierced by Heat Vision with immense heat, blood gushed out of his chest, and his body slammed heavily against the wall, instantly losing its life force.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The continuous sounds of collisions and impacts, as well as the heart-stopping screams, immediately startled everyone in the bar.

Seeing the bloody corpses slammed against the wall, everyone immediately screamed in fright and fled outside.

The originally lively place, filled with the release of hormones, turned into a scene of blood and slaughter, and men and women immediately fled frantically towards the exit.

Eric stood expressionlessly at the bar counter, watching the panicked people fleeing.

His eyes glowed crimson, like a beast lurking in the night.

By interrogating the gunman who killed Alicia, Eric found out that the gang he belonged to was the Blood Gang.

After sending the gunman to hell, Eric came to the Blood Gang's territory, which was also where their leader—Ashley Gaines—was located.

"Avenging Angel?" Eric sat at the bar counter, looking at the whiskey in his hand, and shook his head.

"Although you didn't fit this title when you were alive, after Death, I can help you achieve it."

Although Alicia's Death didn't particularly move him, trampling these gang insects was not difficult for Eric.

Seeing Eric standing still, some gang members immediately rushed towards him.

Their fate was to be cut in half by Eric's Heat Vision, with blood and internal organs sliding onto the ground.

Standing up, Eric walked towards the second floor.

Any gang members who tried to approach him were all dealt with by his Heat Vision.

Walking up to the second floor, several men in suits held pistols and fired at Eric.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets whizzed towards Eric.

But in an instant, he blocked them with his hand.

Whoosh!

A gust of wind whistled past.

The next second, Eric appeared behind the men in suits.

"Crack! Crack! Crack!"

The sound of bones breaking rang out!

In the terrified eyes of the big men, Eric instantly twisted the necks of several people.

They couldn't even see how he attacked.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The bodies fell heavily onto the carpet, their blood staining the white carpet red.

Eric did not look at the fallen gang members and continued to walk forward.

Bang!

He pushed open a door and saw Ashley Gaines, whom he was looking for.

At this moment, the gang boss was hiding behind a group of his subordinates, looking at Eric in fear.

"You!" Ashley Gaines, with his goatee, felt the murderous aura swirling around Eric's body, and even though he was in a high position and accustomed to Death and blood, a trace of fear arose in his heart.

"Who are you?!" Ashley asked Eric.

"I have many names: Homelander, Umbrella Man, Destroyer... but none of that matters now," Eric slowly walked towards him.

"Have you heard of a girl? Alicia, I think that was the name."

"I... I haven't heard of her!" The gang boss seemed to have lost his former domineering aura, coughed, and said to Eric.

"Is that so? Whether the answer is yes or no, it doesn't matter, you will all be buried here anyway," Eric said indifferently.

The gang boss, who had already witnessed Eric's terrifying abilities, took a step back, "You... you won't succeed!"

"Succeed? Why do you make it sound like I'm a villain from a comic book?" Eric looked at Ashley, who was hiding behind his subordinates, and said, "No, I am purifying this world. You are the absolute villains!"
