Chapter 445 - Chapter 439 : Each One's Own Plan

"No, I will never agree." In the Prime Ministers Tower of the Red Keep, Little Devil Tyrion was gathering his ministers to discuss recruiting an army. However, just as the meeting began, Queen Mother Cersei pushed open the door and stormed in, shouting loudly at Little Devil Tyrion.

Tyrion was not surprised by Cersei's arrival. He waved his hand at Varys and the others, signaling them to leave and return later.

Then, he had Bronn and his men guard the outside and also told the two Kingsguard who had followed Cersei in to leave.

After only the siblings remained in the room, he took out wine glasses and a wine bottle from a nearby cabinet, poured a glass for himself and Cersei, and said, "You should have a drink first, calm down..."

Before he could finish speaking, Cersei picked up the wine glass and splashed it directly onto Tyrion's face. As if that wasn't enough, she then picked up the wine jug and poured it over his head.

Tyrion licked the wine dripping onto his lips and said regretfully, "This is Flint wine from the Summer Isles. Since the city was blockaded, no ships from the Summer Isles have docked at King's Landing. This bottle might be the only one left in the city. What you did was really too wasteful."

"Slap!" Before Tyrion could wipe the wine from his face, Cersei slapped him, sending most of the wine flying off his face.

Cersei then tried to slap Tyrion again, but he quickly ducked his head to avoid it.

Tyrion quickly jumped off his chair, retreated a few steps, and said, "Calm down, damn it! Can't you just calm down and use your brain?"

"You damned scoundrel! Last time you sent my Myrcella to Summerhall, and Linde Terra sent her across the Narrow Sea, so I can never see her again. You said it was father's idea, and I let it go," Cersei said, gritting her teeth. "This time, you actually dared to go behind my back and talk to House Tyrell about restoring the engagement, wanting Joffrey to marry that woman who killed her own fiancé. Do you want to kill Joffrey too?"

Saying that, she casually picked up the candlestick, documents, and other things from the table and threw them at Tyrion, who dodged them frantically.

The people outside also heard the commotion and tried to enter the room, but Bronn stopped them.

Bronn looked disdainfully at the two Kingsguard and said, "Don't move. The siblings are discussing something inside. Outsiders had better not interfere."

Although these were two famous Kingsguard, the current Kingsguard were not as good as they used to be; most of them were just for show. Bronn, on the other hand, had seven or eight good fighters with him, and he could easily deal with them before they even drew their swords.

The two Kingsguard also felt threatened and dared not push forward. At the same time, they took their hands off their weapons and stepped back a few paces, indicating that they would not cause trouble.

Inside the room, the table, once piled with various documents, was now completely clear, and the floor was a mess. Cersei leaned on the table, panting, glaring fiercely at Tyrion across from her. The slap mark on Tyrion's face was already swollen, and his forehead seemed to have been hit by something, breaking the skin and bleeding a little, making him look somewhat disheveled.

Tyrion was also enraged at this moment. He wiped the blood from his forehead and no longer tried to dodge. He walked directly in front of Cersei and said, "If you don't want to marry into House Tyrell, fine! I'll immediately send someone to recall the envoy. Then I will resign as Kings Hand, take my people, and leave King's Landing to return to Casterly Rock, leaving you two women to mess things up yourselves." Saying that, he spoke with a fierce expression, "Do you know what will happen soon? I'll tell you: Stannis will unite the armies of the Stormlands and attack King's Landing. You will have no reinforcements. Father's army will be firmly tied down in the Riverlands by Robb Stark. The wildling unrest in the Vale settled down not long ago, and the armies of the Vale are beginning to reassemble. House Tyrell of The Reach, because we recalled the envoy and broke the agreement again, will consider us mortal enemies and will join Stannis in besieging King's Landing. Do you know what your ultimate fate will be? I'll tell you: you will be hanged on the city gate, your son Joffrey will have his head cut off and impaled on the city wall, just as he treated Eddard Stark. Our father will be besieged by the forces of the four kingdoms and die on the battlefield, and I will surrender when the armies of various countries reach the Westerlands and then go to Summerhall. Anyway, Lynd and I have a good relationship, and he can provide me with refuge. At that time, I will live well for you all. If this is what you wish to see, I have nothing more to say; I will submit my resignation immediately."

Cersei's face turned pale as Tyrion spoke. Although she was not very smart, she clearly understood that their situation was dire, with the possibility of annihilation at any moment. This was why Tyrion secretly sent Myrcella to Summerhall, and despite her immense anger, she had not said anything.

However, Tyrion's action of sending someone to Highgarden this time made her involuntarily think of that prophecy again. She felt that the prophecy would surely come true concerning Margaery Tyrell, and judging from Renly's fate, Margaery was also an inauspicious person. If the engagement were restored, she worried that her Joffrey would also suffer misfortune like Renly. Coupled with the accumulated worry over Jaime's disappearance, all these reasons caused her emotions to completely spiral out of control. She needed a place to vent her emotions, which was why she rushed to the Prime Ministers Tower to demand an explanation.

After venting, she calmed down and sat down on a nearby chair, asking in a deep voice, "Is our situation really that bad?"

Tyrion sneered, "Bad? Haven't you understood yet? Your and Joffrey's foolish actions are pushing us little by little into the abyss. We are now standing on the edge of a cliff; just a gentle breeze can send us to eternal damnation."

The room fell silent, and both remained quiet.

After a good while, Cersei suddenly stood up from her chair, startling Tyrion, who instinctively recoiled two steps. Then she looked at Tyrion coldly, raised her head slightly, and said, "Even if we die, we will die with dignity."

After speaking, she turned and walked out of the room, leaving the Prime Ministers Tower in a hurry with her Kingsguard.

At this moment, Bronn walked in, surveyed Tyrion, and said, "Although I'd like to give you time to tidy up your clothes, the intelligence that just arrived doesn't allow me to do so." Saying that, he handed a scroll to Tyrion and said, "News from Dragonstone. The situation is not good."

Tyrion quickly took the scroll, opened it, and read it through, his expression darkening considerably.

As Bronn said, the situation was indeed not good for them. Stannis had borrowed enough ships from the Sealord of Braavos, and these ships were now filled with troops. Clearly, Stannis intended to bypass the Westerlands garrison at Duskendale and attack King's Landing by sea through Blackwater Bay.

Bronn said in a deep voice, "I estimate they should arrive in the waters outside King's Landing in at most four days. Your situation is not looking good."

"My, isn't it 'our'?" Tyrion raised an eyebrow, looking at Bronn.

Bronn said disdainfully, "Shut up! Don't even think about me fighting to the death for you. When I see things going south, I'll be the first to bail. If you have enough money, I don't mind taking you with me."

Tyrion feigned sadness and said, "I thought we were friends."

Bronn said unceremoniously, "Yes, we are friends, which is why I'll choose to run away instead of turning on you and handing you over to Stannis for a reward."

"It seems I really should thank you for considering me a friend." Tyrion pouted, then told Bronn to summon Littlefinger Petyr Baelish.
