Both Olivia and Maria blinked slowly, suddenly realizing they were standing in the middle of a bustling shopping district.

Only an hour ago they'd been completely catatonic from Everly's insane revelations, frozen in shock like someone had hit the pause button on their brains. But while they were stuck in their mental blue screen of death, Everly had seized the opportunity to physically drag them—like a kidnapper hauling unconscious victims—out of Maria's room, through the orphanage courtyard where her family car was parked with the driver waiting.
When they'd stumbled into the courtyard, Everly had spotted her poor driver looking absolutely overwhelmed, surrounded by a swarm of curious children conducting what appeared to be an impromptu interview about rich people's lives.
