I was doing some overdue grocery shopping since last week had been too hectic. Mila insisted on coming along, and I let her. With Mrs. Smith joining us, there was no one left at home to watch her anyway, especially since Dominic wasn't around.
"I want this!" Mila squealed, pointing excitedly at a Snickers bar on the shelf.
"Um… no, darling," I said, shaking my head.
Absolutely not. The memory of finding her collapsed on the floor after eating peanut butter still haunted me. Peanuts were one of the main ingredients in Snickers—there was no way she was getting anywhere near it.
"I can make you a better alternative," Mrs. Smith offered kindly.
Mila pouted, folding her arms with exaggerated drama. I half-expected a full tantrum, but to my surprise, she gave a small nod.
"But why not?"
