Silence slammed down between them.
Eryx's chest heaved, his voice rough when he spoke. "She chose him," he said hoarsely. "How do you expect me to react?"
Theo's anger didn't soften. If anything, it hardened. "And that's exactly why you need to get your shit together," he said coldly. "Because if anyone finds out what you did with Azrael's mate or if he reports you to the Apex, then you're in a bigger shit."
Rhydric's gaze darkened at that.
Eryx looked back at the shattered pieces on the floor, teeth grinding. The he spun on his heels.
"I don't care about the Apex or anyone." Then he stormed out of the house.
Theo ran a hand through his hair, his chest rising and falling with anger. "Damn it… that was necessary," he muttered to himself.
Rhydric leaned against the doorframe back with his arms crossed as he peered at Theo. "That… was harsh," he said slowly, his tone even but sharp with judgment.
